You maniacs! You cancelled it! Damn you! Goddamn you all to hell!Basically all bets are off. I’m being told that the "All Star" line will be wound up when the current creators leave the books, to be replaced by a new line more in keeping with the idea of creating new iconic versions of the characters rather than the Silver Post Modern Age of "All Star Superman" and the Dark Knight Satire of "All Star Batman And Robin The Boy Wonder." This is a dark day for all fans of All Star Batman and Robin. But we can look on some bright sides. With Jim Lee still working on it, we got till 2009 or 2010 for it to end. And here's hoping we still get Jim Lee on that new line mentioned. All-Star, didn't you say if this thing gets canceled you would quit the LoG? I remember you saying that back in the day.

That was two years ago and back when the book was just starting and people really disliked it. Now it's just not taken as seriously as it was. Besides, it even said there would be a new line that had the same idea like All Star. I'm never leaving LoG.

I just don't get why DC would allow this book (which had huge potential and upside) to be put off again and again and again. It's no way to run a business.

I love the art of Jim Lee. I'd read airplane safety guides if he illustrated them, so him drawing Batman? I'm sold.
In regards to the story.....it's OK. No worse than stuff like "Death and the Maidens."
My only beef with this line is Batman's dialogue. It's not edgy, it's not "sophisticated", it's TERRIBLE. It is like an angry 6 year old who knows too many curse words is talking. Justify it all you want, but it's complete garbage.
Will I continue buying the book? Yes, of course. I love Jim Lee's Batman.

I loved issue 8. Jim's Joker is excellent as well as the storyline, his TLHish Catwoman, & Frank's story.
Can't wait till issue 9.
What's the other series you're talking about All Star?

Apparently, DC is cancelling the All Star line and starting from scratch with a new line that will show iconic versions of characters like All Star was.

That doesn't make much sense. Why start All Star, which was supposed to be DC's "Ultimate" line just to cancel it & try it again?

Ya, that really sucked. I'm just glad they've been able to keep it semi-monthly. But monthly would be a helluva lot better

Well, I was surprised to actually see this release since it seemed like the title had fallen behind again with the January issue being moved back to February. I hope issue 10 does come out when they say it will.

ASB&R #10 - QUITELY VARIANT COVER -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DC Comics has provided Newsarama with your first look at Frank Quitely’s variant cover for All-Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder #10, due out this month. The solicitation for the issue reads: Written by Frank Miller; Art and Cover by Jim Lee and Scott Williams; Variant Cover by Frank Quitely Batgirl, Catwoman, Black Canary, and even Detective Gordon's better half give Gotham a headache so big it'll split the city in two! Batman | 32pg. | Color | $2.99 US On Sale April 30, 2008 Quitely weighed in for Newsarama on his process in coming up with the final image: “At first I thought it'd be fun to do my own version of Batman and Robin, fully intending to make my cover as different as possible, simply because that's one of the things you can get away with on an alternate cover,” Quitely said. “While I was playing around with the composition of what I wanted to be an absolutely iconic image of them, I started considering what it was specifically about the All Star dynamic duo that I liked, and that's the nature of their relationship - the impact this relationship has on Bruce and Alfred, on Batman and the rest of the league, it's a very loaded, complex thing. “I re-read the series up to this point and instead of something deliberately ‘alternate', I've ended up with a piece that looks much closer to the established aesthetic of the series than I had at first intended. It's still my version, but it's my version of Frank and Jim's Batman and Robin.”

Did they also give up on the once mentioned Miller & Adams combination?

I got a feeling that the series will be over when they finish this thing.
