It will make a long time to get the fans to accept downloadable comics. I do think that this is probably the direction the publishers will eventually go in.

Zuda's a great idea. But paper can never be replaced by a computer screen. Who would rather read something on a cold hard plastic thing than on paper with the smell of ink...... Not that I like paper because of the ink or anything, but. I don't think it'll take off.

Agreed - there's nothing like being able to hold a comic in your hands.

I'd quiet comic collecting if they only put it on the internet and not actually publish them and put them in comic stores

people already download regular books, so what would make comics so different? my only concern is the LCS, it's a great place to connect with like-minded people and have fun; not to mention all the toys and special items to find; i'd be more worried about losing that than the physical books

I wouldn't mind if they made them available online, but I certainly DON"T want them to stop publishing in print. I personally have always enjoyed having an actual book in my hands to enjoy. I wouldn't enjoy having to go online to get them. Because of where I live, our computer runs slow on a good day and a download would probably take 1/2 a day. No thanks.
I think this would be great to get new people into books since you can't just go to a 7-11 type store anymore to pick them up. But I want to have the ability to buy a printed copy.

Hate the idea. There is nothing better than building on one's collection of graphic novels or comics. Reading them on a computer screen wouldn't be the same at all.

I love collecting the comics and curling up with them and think fans will keep buying them on paper. BUT my nearest comic shop is far away and in the UK subsciptions can be really expensive, it might help to attract new fans as may magazones are sold online as well as papaer and it;s helped boost their paper sales once people read a trial online. I think it'll be a wait and see.

I Only Download The Comics If I Can't get Them But The Problem Is That They're hard to Read And Its Just Not The Same!

I don't like it and refuse to embrace the medium. Part of the fun is walking into my comic book shop to browse and BS with other customers. Granted these shops are already starting to faze out, the nearest one is 22 miles away, but I religiously make the trip every month. Then again my lifestyle allows me an hour or two a month to make said trip. Collecting comics and trading amongst my friends like baseball cards is part of the hobby.
For me, you can't replace the convenience of the printed magazine. I don't want to stare at a computer monitor any more than I have to, and you can't lug around your PC where ever you go. Laptops are out of the question seeing how I don't have one, and frankly don't need one. As for ipods, why would you want to read a comic on those tiny screens? Bottom line, at the end of the day I can always lounge on the hammock and flip open a TPB.
Sadly I can see digital comics becoming the norm and it's disheartening.
