I've heard criticisms that Batman seems almost "Ten Years Ago" as opposed to OYL; that his character development came totally out of left field. For those of you keeping up with the comics (not me!) what do you think of that? I think Batman has finally found a way to work out the fact that he is an inspiration and he inspires others to do good, and he realizes that he is only human in a big city that is Gotham.

Can I just note the number of times "family" and the like was mentioned in Robin 148 aswell. It seems like Batman, Nightwing and Robin took some time off with some kind of "team bonding" experience. That's just a guess. Maybe Bats is trying to create more of a family vibe within the heroes.

Just read it. Seems KGBeast and magpie were killed with the same gun, a double barrel pistol. And the person who used to use the pistol was... Two-Face!!!
Harvey Dent watches Batman and Robin beat up on Mad Hatter and his men. He notices that they fight much more in synch now, like batman and the first robin. Two-Face talks to Dent in a reflection telling him that it may be time to come back, but Dent tells him No.
Bruce has some plans for Tim, we dont know what they are yet. Bruce also tells Tim he has gotten good at crime fighting. "As good as Nightwing?" Robin asks. Batman tells him, "I see potential... for you to be better."
And since Batman cant work in the daytime, he hires Jason Bard to do some work for him during the day.
To be Continued.

I didn't read it because my comic shop was sold out of it (more are suppse to come on Wednesday), but from the way I hear it, I believe Two Face takes over Dent and kills the villians. And its Dent who still doesn't want to be "bad" himself (the good side, exactly).

You should have the comic shop reserve issues you want ahead of time blinker. That's what I do.
So who did Harvey kill in DETECTIVE#818?

So who did Harvey kill in DETECTIVE#818?
It's simple. There is no Harvey Dent and there hasn't been for a long time. I don't care how many times he gets his face fixed. He's Two Face and that 's all he'll ever be. Harvey Dent is long dead. Harvey didn't kill anyone in #818. If he is responsible for these murders at all, Two Face did them.

So who did Harvey kill in DETECTIVE#818? Nobody got killed in Detective 818. But the two murders that happened in the last 2 parts seem like they were done by him.

That's not true. It's stongly implied that Ventriloquist bought it this time. They didn't show a body tho, so wait and see.
In any event, the Harvey/Two-Face thing feels like a ruse. They still haven't shown him doing any evil.
This has been a really cool story, BTW.

Two-Face being the killer would be too simple, so it just cant be him.

Tho again, we haven't seen the body yet so we have to wait until Part 4 (at least) for confirmation. It is interesting that the three targeted villains were all created within a relatively short time in the '80s. I have a hunch that's intentional.

But how many times as the Ventriloquist appeared to die? I thought he died once already and then was mysteriously brought back OYL.

I think the Toyman should create a new advanced robotic Scarface and control him romotely. I'd love to see more of Toyman in Gotham.

DETECTIVE COMICS #818
REVEW: Story: Magpie is dead. Bruce is wondering about what he has planned for Robin (although we don't know what it is). While Batman and Robin fight the Mad Hatter, Harvey Dent watches them and sees they're different than what trhey like ebfore. The Two-Face comes back and urges him to come back, but he refuses. In the final moments, another villian dies...
After the last part which didn't have the "snap" (I can't think of a term for that) like in Detective #817, #818 brings it back, maybe halfway. Bruce has something planned for Tim Drake. In every solicitation, we've heard about it and even in the preview of Batman #652 its mentioned. We have no idea what it is but its about his future. Could he be the next Batman (like in the "Titans of Tomorrow"), or maybe something that we're not thinking of? We don't know.
While in a cameo previously, Jason Bard makes a appearence as Batman gives him an offer that he accepts. As Batman's detective for the day time to help the Dark Knight and for himt o know what's up when he enters the night shift. While the appearence is small, we do get to know what he is like. He's very James Bond. He sleeps with the woman who is the criminal and once he's done with her, he rats her out.
Overall, the "snap" came back. We get more into what Bruce, as the father figure, wants for two people and whatever is happening, we want to know what's going on.
REVIEW: 8/10

On what Bruce's plans are for Tim: we don't know them yet. But we do get clues.
On the two pages where its mentioned, he blames himself for his (Tim's) father's death. But, throught he has doubt the needs for a SIDEKICK. And he wants to see that light more.

Part of what has happend with Robin that gets tied into this was his role in IC. He took charge and saved many lives in Bludhaven. He went into auto mode and he was the spitting image of Batman. Plus, I think now that Tim Drake has acceptted the fact that he will be Batman one day. This has been weighin in on Bruce's mind.

I still don't think it's Harvey at all. I don't think Harvey exists anymore. He's Two Face no matter how many times he fixes his face.

It was Harvey. How else would Batman trust him with the city when he was gone?
I like that shot where the two panels on two sides of his face with the right side darken.
Expect my review this weekend.
