For those who read the last issue of Gotham Knights, you should know about this. But lets go from the beginning:
Joker had been killing people who had pacemakers and when Hush interfered, Joker put one in him too and with this, he could kill Hush anytime he wanted. Hush needed help and turned to Bruce. He said he would only help him if he put himself in the Max. Security wing of Arkham. Later they're at Arkham, and after they get rid of the pacemaker, Hush escapes and goes after Joker. Batman tries to stop him but Hush then talks about how many people's lives would've been better if he stopped Joker the first time. Batman then allows him to go, but then asks him why he didn't have any post-op effects, or how could he have escaped Arkham's Max. Security? I turns out that they left the pacemaker in!
This is all that happens as Gotham Knights comes to an end. So the main topic of this thread is 'What did Batman end up doing?' Did he save Hush or allow him to die?

After reading Hush Returns I just feel like they are forcing the character down our throats. I think Loeb and Lee's Hush was excellent and should have ended the character then, but now it seems like they are making him sort of like a ying/yang situation with Batman. Almost like an ambigous character similar to Catwoman.

With all the travesties that have been done to the character in Gotham Knights, it seems to me he'll be better off dead(if he did die). So that was the last issue of GK? Good freakin' riddance, I say. Maybe whatever replaces it will actually have some quality to it(yes, I am feeling rather bitter).

What's replacing GK is also replacing LOTDK. It's called BATMAN CONFIDENTIAL. Is that just your theory Batrez, or do you know something you're not telling us?

Hush is a charcter no one knew what to do with - he should have died but good at the end of the original storyline, but comics have always been notorious for milking a good idea - the problem is that Hush was never a good idea to begin with. I hope they kill him off, but do so in a way that doesn't make Bats look like a schmuck.

I was checking out the DC previews for August, and I found this from Man-Bat#5:
The shocking miniseries conclusion! All roads have led to the secret hideout of Black Mask, where Kirk Langstrom faces a crucial turning point that will allow him to regain his humanity — or lose it once and for all to the beast known as Man-Bat! And with Hush in the mix, Langstrom's chances for salvation are slim, even with Batman's help!
So it looks like Hush did survive the end of Gotham Knights.
