Catwoman: When in Rome (CWiR) is written by Loeb and illustrated by Sale, both helped to create 2 of the best Batman books ever; The Long Halloween (TLH) and Dark Victory (DV). You really can't go wrong with picking up this book, especially if you are huge fans of the previous 2 like myself. For those that don't know, CWiR occurs between TLH and DV and follows Selina Kyle in Rome while she is trying to discover her past concerning whether or not Carmine Falcone is her father. Loeb has crafted a brilliant story. Selina essentially hires on Edward Nigma and they both travel over to Rome together. This story is more light-hearted when compared to TLH and DV because of Riddler alone. He is great and he really made me fall in love with the Riddler character all over again. There is even a scene which explains how Selina gets her black Catwoman costume that she wears today in the comics. Sale once again gives us some the best comic art IMO we have ever seen. For each chapter there is a beautifully drawn page of Selina that was inspired from European art. The coloring is slightly different from TLH and DV but it isn't anything to complain about. I highly recommend this to any Batfan and Catfan.

I recently bought this HB. I haven't read it yet but I've scanned through it. I plan to reread TLH and DV and place C:WIR in it's proper sequence with those two. Thanks for the review. It sounds great.

So has anyone read this yet, and if so what do you think of it?

I've been wanting to get this book for a long time, but like Gotham95, I'd want to reread TLH and DV along with it, so I'll wait a while until I have the time necessary to enjoy these books to their fullest .
