These look mighty good! I wish I was visiting Empire Comics in Rochester, NY or Earthworld Comics in Albany. If you go to my site, you'll see that I chronicled Free Comic Book Day 2004. Catwoman was visiting Albany that day!

My daughter usually looks forward to it. My comic book shop usually does some kind of promo for the kiddies. Its really a great idea to hook in the young readers.

Looks very good, Matt! I went to Fat Cat Books in Johnson City, NY and got both DC numbers. I also got a couple of other freebies as well. It looked like a good time, despite the raw weather.

I was able to pick up both Batman/Superman and JLU this year! My store usually allows one per customer, but they said I could grab what I wanted. I was spreading the word about yesterday all last week, it's a great opportunity for the industry to gain exposure.

Wow, looks like some of you had fantastic times. Here in Nowheresville it's more of an opportunity for the loud bratty kids to come out and make a fuss over free paper.

i hated this one comic book store near me... they were so stingy with their fcbd books. they have their "special" policy where u can only have one free fcbd item and the next one would be 20¢ each. DIAF! luckily i went to another shop, and they were glad to let me leave with a stack. and i got the heroclix wolverine!

How was everyone elses day? One of my local shops had a big sale to celebrate Free Comic Book Day. 60% off back issues, 50% off new issues, 40% off DCD and a bunch more. I made out like a bandit!

Had a great time in Austin! We went to Austin Books and they had a huge crowd. My son (who was wearing his Superman T-shirt and cape) absolutlely loved it and my wife enjoys Free Comic Day too.
We grabbed 10 of the free comics and strolled around the store looking at all the great books and figures. Austin Books has a HUGE selection of figures and a giant display area.
Then Lunch at a local burger joint and home. A great day...
Support your local comic book shoppe!

Wow, sure seems like most of you all made out pretty well and had some fun! Sadly on my end this FCBD was a real dud. I actually hadnt intended on going to the shop but I sorta ended up out and about anyway. Unlike past FCBD's there really wasnt anything to get excited about. My shop offered a 20-30% off on most everything but thats it... so I stocked up on some supplies and bought a couple Timm-verse animated trades.

Okay... All y'all need to come down to Dallas. At my shop, Zeus Toys & Comics, we turn FCBD into CAPE! It's almost like a mini-convention, with oodles of artists and writers hanging out, swapping stories and sketches, plus a raffle for cool prizes, thousands of $.25 comics, etc. And of course, little ol' me on hand with a bunch of my customs. Basically, it's a huge party that lasts all day. I'll have some photos posted soon. C.
