WHAT THE heck IS GOING ON?! IF ANYONE HERE IS FROM DC, CAN YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME!? To the fans that were interested in this book, I'm sorry for your frustration. However. Delays like this are unacceptable. Instead of complaining on message boards like LOG, where your complaints will do no good, might I suggest an alternative? Complain to your local comic shop. Complain to the retailer. Take this book off your pull list. DON'T buy it. Speak with your $$. In the future, do this with ANY book that gets Image-itis after it is originally solicited.

I'm still interested in this book.
I don't know if that plan will work reideen. But I do agree that after 5 months of waiting for issue 4, I'm getting really frustrated. And I got a feeling this won't stop until we get the toyline next year or later. What I really don't like is that the All Star Superman book is being released faster than Batman and Robin. Now that's not fair.
Actually, I have a plan. If you're an All Star fan and frustrated with the repeated release date changes, write a letter or e-mail to DC, Lee, Miller, I don't care who, and tell them that you're frustrated and threaten to boycott DC. I don't know if this will work, but it could.

I don't know if this will work, but it could. That's all fine and well, but if you write to DC/Lee/Miller, you're writing to the distributor & manufacturer of the book. They're still going to put it out when they're darn good & ready. AFIK this isn't a situation where there's a sick family member or a natural disaster causing the delay. It's just a delay - no reason given - that DC expects fans to accept. I'm not saying boycott DC, because then we'd all potentially lose. If you're pissed about this book, I'll tell you what to do. If you, as an individual, stops buying the book and complain to your retailer, sure, it probably won't have any effect on the situation. However, if large numbers of fans stop buying the book and complain to the retailer that will be much more effective. Retailers have to decide each month what they're going to be buying 3 months (or more) in advance. They have to decide exactly how many issues of a title they can reasonably sell. It's a very fine line to walk. Talk to your friends both here at LOG and in real life. Visit other message boards. Gather support and organize the effort. As a group, take your $ away from the retailers AND tell them why - I guarantee that DC will hear about it. (Retailers will run right back to their Diamond reps to complain. Diamond will go to DC and, well, you can figure out the rest.) Put your hard earned $ behind an independent book or behind a book like Batman Strikes - something that comes out on a consistent basis and tells a good story.

Okay, I've found out the true reason why the series is being pushed back so much:
"It has been made clear by Jim Lee himself that it is Jim who is causing the delays. Due to his providing covers for three different series, designs for the entire DC Universe MMORPG and All Star Batman and Robin."
Well, we've got the reason for the delays. Now how about getting them on the shelves?

Either they should get him concentrated on one thing or give the job to someone else.

The overall lack of dedication to All Star, especially by its writers and its artists, is what makes this series such a problem. Even when they do occasionally get their act together, they release such half-attempts it's not even worth all the wait and struggles stemming from their inability to adhere to deadlines.
They never should have started this series, imo.[/shadow]

Again, it's not a death in the family, it's not a natural disaster and the pages weren't lost in the post. Being overbooked with work isn't an acceptable answer for the lateness of the book. That's where Lee (or the editor) needs to step in and relieve some of his work load.
So, have you complained to your LCS yet?

Anywho, am I mistaken? or havnt they been doing multiple / variant covers on this book anyway? Like one Millar one Lee? are cover duties the only reason, or also interior art? Oh well. I cant say I personally really care in this case since my Only interest here is pure morbid curiosity.

Lee is busting his hump to give us good stories and games. Don't be mad at him for doing all this work. He's the best artist that DC's had in years. Why do you think they have him working on all this stuff? Because he's that damn good. This is an acceptable answer to me.

While he might be a good artist (a subject for debate in a different topic) he's still obviously overwhelmed.
Either way, you're the one waiting for this book. It's ultimately your decision to wait for it and continue to spend your $.

Don't get me wrong here Batlaw. I love this series. But it just pisses me off when it gets delayed like this. I'm going to be here for every issue of All Star, no matter how long it takes for it to come out.

Argh! I actually thought, when they had #4, 5, and 6 scheduled for April, May, and June, that we would get through this storyline in my lifetime! Turns out, though, that it's never going to end. The release dates are going to be pushed back eternally. Anyway, I think Jim Lee needs to drop something: All-Star or the MMORPG. His workload should not cause delays like these, and since it is, it's obvious that he's doing too much. It's unacceptable. Whoever's in charge of getting this comic out ought to take care of this, not let the series be delayed into infinity, IMO. I love his art, but no one can wait years for the next issue of a comic to be released. Maybe they could get Neal Adams to start early, and finish the art on this storyline so his turn can get here while we're still young. Sheesh. Also, 1,800 posts!

I am pretty bummed out that they are delaying this book, I think that it is well worth the wait to a point, but at this rate they should just have somebody else step in and take over for Jim Lee until his busy schedule is taken care of.
I am also going through the same problem with The Friday the 13th comics, they have been delayed for some unknown reason and it really ticks me off....

Maybe a good solution for All Star since it is dubbed All Star would be to have some of the past Batman Artists and Writers return for a short run on the book here and there, and limit it to a select few, this way here it still has that All Star allure and feel to it, for example bring back Neal Adams or Norm Breyfogle for a run on the book for a few issues or something like that. If Lee and Miller can't get it done right now, we the fans shouldn't suffer
