[shadow=red,left,300]Great looking figure, although his MOC pose makes him look as if someone just kicked him in the junk.[/shadow]

It's a nice figure, but I think the DC 9" version is much better. I wasn't happy with the gloss paint used on his black areas. And I'm really not happy with the placement of the upper arm cut joint. It's right at the ball of the shoulder...so there's not a good firm place to grip the arm when you to try and move it. So I fear the peg/post breaking when you try and move the arm...It should have been lower in the bicep so you'd have had a part of the upper arm to hold when moving it. Still a nice figure just not great. PJ

On the one hand it's a selling point for greater posablity but if it's really fragile then what's the point?

Even if it was just a half inch lower it would have been better as you could have had something to grip that wouldn't put stress on the joint when trying to raise the arms. PJ But as you can see there's nothing to grap that won't put stress on that joint...

I looked at it yesterday, but decided against picking it up. I didn't like the high gloss on it, and the posability didn't look all that promising. Besides, my comic place charges a minimum of $16.99 on all new DCD figures, so it just really didn't seem worth it to me.

PJ, how are the shoulders attached? Is the post part of the arm or do the posts come out of the body and the arms attach to them? Same question for the legs.

Well, with the leg I can't really tell which has the post, but I'd guess the leg attaches to a post from the crotch piece...like most other DCD figures. Now the Arms have a couple posts. First the shoulder attaches to a post in the torso...but then the arm attaches to a post on all bottom of the shoulder. PJ

I picked one up today also, along with a Captain Marvel. I'm quite happy with both. The Captain Marvel is an exact likeness, I love the cape.

I have to say I really like this figure ! the articulation and attenion to detail are great the cape is really cool! there is a wire running down each seam and the effect is vey da vinci when open which was one of Bob Kane's original inspirations granted it is a little 'cartoony" but the sculpt is dead on for the 1st appearance and come on for 1939 that was pretty darn creepy looking! (really glad those purple gloves got replaced really fast though) I have the 9"alex Ross version too I really like both

I picked this figure up on Friday and while it's not as nice as the one Alex Ross designed it is pretty cool, plus it looks better next to the other DC Direct Batman figures because of its size.

PJ I didn't pre-order it, but his policy is "first come first serve" and so he said he wouldn't feel right if someone were to get to the store before me looking for the figure and not be able to get it. Is the 9" figure the Master piece Collection Batman?

When is the Masterpiece Collection due out? They were a few years ago....There was a Superman set that had the book & a 9" statue...The Batman set with the book & Hasbro 9" figure....then a Wonder Woman set with the book & Hasbro 9" figure. I think you can still find the through Amazon.com PJ
