I moved this out of Matt's thread as I didn't think it was fair to him putting in a thread of his custom. Anyway here's how far I've gotten with the 6" Comic version. I need the Bruce head and some putty to hide the gaps. But it's a work in progress... And here it is with Supes head to get a feel of it... And with the Bruce head...Still have to fit it better...and fill in some gaps. While I was waiting for the Bruce Wayne figures to arrive. (Thanks FB) I had decided to repaint mine. Here's what I did to him... I have to make some sort of display for his transforming pieces. PJ

[shadow=blue,left,300]WOW!! That looks amazing, PJ! I think the cowl looks great where it is! Even the Superman head looks like a million bucks on there! Great work! (***plotting to steal ideas***)[/shadow]

(***plotting to steal ideas***)[/shadow] Thanks...I think Iron Cow did one with the Martial Arts Batman. But once I saw the Con Bats this year I knew I wanted one, but don't know when I can afford one without being in the doghouse. ;)So off I went. PJ

Great work PJ,you did a fantastic job hollowing out the mask. That must have taken some patience!Which i would leave where it is. It looks strange with a Supes head but the general idea is excellent, excellent work!

[glow=blue,2,300]I like it a lot PJ, and with the Superman head, it kinda reminds me of that TNBA episode (or was it a Supes episode) where he dresses up as Batman when Bruce goes missing.[/glow]

A pretty good episode. I wish the Riddler wouldn't have been so weak and useless in this episode though.

Hey PJ,
Nice work! I like the creativity in the construction of the mask. My only concern would be the Supes head. I originally used that head on the same body for a couple of pieces, and found the head was far too small to match the scale of the body. Is that not as obvious, if at all, on yours?

Casimir Yes it does look a bit odd. Not so much from an angled view, but from a straight on view his head looks small compared to the body. but I just put the head there to get a feel for it...I'm going to actually use the Bruce Wayne head once I get another Transforming Bruce Wayne. Thanks everyone. PJ

[shadow=red,left,300]PJ, excellent job! I can't imagine how much patience it took to hollow out that cowl. All in all, a great idea with even better results. [/shadow]

Good Job, Looks good. I'd done this with a Hush Bats, and an Eradicator head and posted it on Delphi's custom board at the end of June and it was transfered to Fwooshnet.com's boards last month. Some suggestions are finding a more scowling Supes type head. Definitly cut off that curl and repaint the skin. Here's my WIP pics. I'd actually started with a mattel supes head to make it a removable cowl but you can see in the pics how that worked out. Well Good Luck with yours. Mine is finished just haven't posted pix yet. Feedback is welcome for me also. Thanks. Yours looks cool from the pictures on the board....but I couldn't open the individual ones. Does the cowl fit on his head? As for mine I'm not using the Suerman's head that was just to get an idea of what he was going to look like. It's back on suerman's body now. Right now it's headless as I'm waiting to get another of the Mattel Transforming Bruce Waynes. One I get a secon one I'll cut the neck down from behind the jawline and pop it on the body. But seeing I only have one Bruce wayne right now I'm holding off. The figure is just collecting dust right now. PJ

Thanks. No the cowl is mounted on the back similar to yours I was originally going for the cowl to be removed but that didn't work the head itself looked all sortsa deformed. Sorry but up until now Freeservers' allowed anyone to view the individual pics. I'll work on something. Thanks for your comments and best of luck findin the Bruce. I'm going to be working on a Clark and a Bruce figure. Probably using either the Supes head or the Eradicators head again.(I may just make a cast that thing is expensive). Clark is going to have a JJJameson body from the first Spiderman Movie,...kinda unkempt look, Clark is known for. As for Bruce I'm looking for a nice statured suit figure...Kinda thinkin of the Jason Wynn Spawn exclusive. Who knows when that'll come about.. Anyways Best luck with customizin..
Peace.

This was my first attempt on the cowl. It was the Hasbro World of Batman Bruce Wayne cowl cut in half. After I did it I thought the cowl looked to big. Also on this attempt I had painted the boots, gloves, trunks & cowl a midnight blue as I'm a blue & gray person... Then this is the Mattel head I used on the second attempt.... So now I'll leave it up to you guys...Which cowl type do you guys like more? Mattel's or Hasbro's? Thanks. PJ

I'm actually partial to the Hasbro's one personally PJ.I'm also a Blue/Grey kind of guy. Also you'll be glad to know the Bruce head is on his way so you can ditch Supe's head soon.

As for Supes he got his head back after the pictures were taken. I'll PM you so I can send out the professor & the difference tomorrow.

[glow=red,2,300]nice customs pj... i like the mattel figure but i think it would be much cooler if you could make it a blue/gray figure... i like the hasbro figure (coz its blue/gray) but his cowl is too bulky... well, thats my own opinion...[/glow]

He looks awesome PJ,you are becoming a master at removing the facial bits from Cowls too. That would look great displayed on some sort of base. Have you got the other Bruces yet?

I hope so too PJ,i sent yours,Batlaws and Peevs on the same day.I know Batlaw already has had his for a couple of days or so. FB, It arrived today. But it doesn't quite work the way I wanted it to. After I cut down the neck and hollowed the jaw...I realized the post on Zipline was to large so I had to cut that down. But it still didn't fit quite right. So I'll have to hollow out his chin some more and just glue it on permanently. I'll have to fill in some gaps yet also. PJ Anyway here's one so far...

Wal-Mart?[/glow] Thanks...Well, I got the one that I painted dark grey w/ the yellow oval bat logo from Red Skull a few months back. (thanks Red Skull ) And today two arrived in the mail from FaithfulButler. (Thanks FB ) I've yet to see him here in the state. (although Sling Strike Nightwing did show up in special cases at Comic shops) But according to Mattel they said he will be on the shelves in the US at some point this year. PJ

Ah yes,i encountered the same problem.I should have warned you about that. They are nowhere near a simple head swap and there is quite a lot of remodelling involved.Guess Mattel wanted to make sure their Con exclusive remained hard to re-produce. He's looking good though, nice work.

Well I knew I was going to have to cut down his neck and hollow out his jaw...but I wasn't expecting to have to cut down Ziplines post also...I had to cut it down below the notch for the head to fit on. PJ

I was thinking PJ,maybe you should do a photographic tutorial on how you hollow out the masks.I'm sure more than a few people here would love to know your method. If you don't mind sharing with the masses of course.
