Just saw the new picture from The Batman....I really like this picture so I think I am going to 'test' myself and see if I can re-draw it and color it...basically trying to match it exactly. I'll post some step by step pictures, but first here is the original pic... And here is my drawing after about an hours work. When I've finished a certain section all the way, I usually add colors to it that way it stands out from the other lines I'm drawing. I'm the "color as you go" type so by the time I'm done drawing the picture the initial colors are done. Once I'm finished drawing/outlining I'll go back and tweak the colors to make sure everything looks perfect. I normally make my lines red while I'm drawing or coloring something so they stand out and I can see them easier. I'll post more as I do it.

After another 30min.... I started this at 12:15am, and now it's 1:45am so I'm at about 1.5 hours. I can guess this is going to take another 7 hours to complete. Since I don't have the time to sit down for 7 hours at once and finish this I'll probably have the finished piece posted in about a day or so. Batman took about 30 min total to completely finish...he's usually pretty easy since the outlines can be cheated since he has mass amounts of black on his costume. The Joker will probably take about another hour to finish since I've already got the hardest part out of the way (his face). The real pain in the butt is going to be the buildings at the bottom. Having to redraw them and color them individually is going to take a LONG time. I think I might add a few things to the picture before I'm done with it....I think it's missing THE BATSIGNAL.

[shadow=red,left,300]The robin looks mighty nice...he's one of my favorites you've made so far..
the Catwoman...eh...I dont like the skin showing..I guess I still have Pfeiffer's as my ideal Catwoman ALTHOUGH...as Jman stated...the collar does look nice
Superman looks a little odd to me... the more you go down, the bigger his body seems to gets... [/shadow]

Yeah I'm actually going to re-work Superman and give him the time he deserves. I'll leave that one up so I can learn from my mistake. In the meantime here is some more work, regarding THE BATMAN.... coming along nicely.... Getting closer... Almost done.... and here's some other stuff I've done. I LOVED the scene from the preview of Batman driving around inside the car, with the lights accenting certain parts of his body, so naturally I did my own.

AHHHH!!!! I LOVE your art, especially your "revamped" Batman, Catwoman and Scarecrow (he looks so sadistic ) I noticed no Harley yet, so I thought you should try this (just a suggestion), black boots, leather-ish pants (black, shiny) a leather-ish jacket that cuts off when it hits the paint line, and the jakcet red (left side), black right side or flip it). a black spade on the left shoulder, and a red diamond on the right shoulder. Blonde hair (in the syle of like Helena from teh Birds of prey show), her mask on (probably the white makeup with lipstick), and black finger-less gloves. Oh, and two red straps clipped from the belt line of the pants, to the bakc pocket (like punk straps). I love your Riddler too by the way, (this is how obsessed I am), I printed your art, put it on my billboard, and I'm gonna make some customs of your Year One Figs (as well as write a few fan fictions about em).

Strange in appearance, Jervis was always picked on by his peers for his 4ft 10inch stature and his uncanny resemblance to the Alice in Wonderland character "The Mad Hatter." Now in his late 40's, Jervis Tetch is both a brilliant scientific mind, and a complete psychopath. Much like his apprentice Dr. Jonathan Crane, Tetch has turned his award winning "mind therapy" treatment which is responsible for the reintroduction of even the most twisted minds of Arkham back into modern society, into mindless slaves. Although his former patients seem like normal, working class citizens, Tetch is able to alter their minds and control their will whenever he desires....making them do anything from reciting Shakespeare, to murdering someone that has dared to cross the feeble Doctor's path. Using a microscopic implant he placed in their cerebrum, Jervis uses his former patients as a way to extract revenge on those that teased and harassed him as a child. Although not pyshically responsible, Jervis is is the sole mastermind of some of Gotham's most shocking crimes. One of the most disturbing crimes his mind control is responsible for, was the brutal murders of Alice Whitley and her fiance Chris Webber. The sole reason behind that murder was simply because Alice turned down Jervis for a date several months prior. Now that Jervis has perfected his "mind therapy" treatments, he has set his sights on one of Gotham's favorite sons, and the person he blames for the cancellation of his mind therapy being introduced into mainstream society.....Bruce Wayne. __________________________________________ With this design I went TOTALLY opposite from what most people are used to. I always thought The Mad Hatter was a silly character, mostly because he looked like a complete idiot...so I went the other way and made him look completely insane. I know most people will say "he needs a hat!", but keep in mind that he isn't called "the mad hatter" because he wears a hat, he's called that because of his physical resemblance to the character. I kept that look, but completely changed everything else. Gone is the 19th century European petty coat and spats, they have now been replaced by a bloody butcher's apron and lab coat. I kept the hair on the sides of his head to give him that mad scientist look. I also gave him a nasty scar across his head to make it appear as if maybe he'd experimented on himself...or been experimented on. Jervis, much like The Riddler would be more of a 'behind the scenes' guy so there is no need for a traditional costume. I do like how I was able to tie him and The Scarecrow together....I'm especially proud of that.

VERY nice Mad hatter (I LOVE THE BLOOD SPATTER!!!). I am working on a a storyline for your art "Batman Year One: on Fan Fiction.com, it'll be a series, Ill give you proper creidt, and you can check it out! I should be done with "episode 1" today. By the way, I literally just zoomed out to Wal-Mart to buy an extra The Batman, normal bats, and Joker to make customs (will post soon). So, what do you think about my Harley idea?

I'll see what I can do with the Harley idea. Let me know when you finish your custom figures I'd love to see them.
If you want to write a fan fiction story that'd be great, just keep in mind that the story has to be DARK and somewhat 'realistic'. The Joker doesn't hang out in an abandoned toy factory, and doesn't have exploding marbles....he's a total psychopathic killer that's just escaped from Arkham.
Use my little bios as starter points if you want to. Can't wait to read what you got.

Will do, and for info on customs: batman will be just a The Batman fig with a tattered cape, and your batsymbol on it (printed and stuck on, unnoticable), Joker will be a re-worked The Batman joker, Riddler will be a TNBA Bruce, rpainted, with a JLA Lex Head, not making Penguin or Two-face, Catwoman, I have yet to decide (may get some tips from Iron-Cow), and Scarecrow will be a BTAS Scarecrow, repainted with a Fantastic Four figure lab coat I will make a badge), and his mask altered. I'm gonna stick Batman with the TNBA style batmobile (the coolest version of the animated, I think) And working on the Fan Fic now, simply called, "Pilot", ep 2 will be "Tragedy". And yes, it shall be "dark", just you wait

this is the Batmbile I am referring to: if you go to DCU animated, click on new Bats/Supes adventures, then click on TNBA, then click on heroes, scroll down, and click on Bat Gadgets. He won't have a Bat Plane yet of corse, nor a Bat Boat/Batcycle. the Batarang's will look like the ones out of The Batman.

[shadow=red,left,300]Man, that really gave me the creeps... Hatter looks like some psychopathetic butcher... the hanging person in the corner is GREAT...
I miss his goofy hat, but that's my only gripe... [/shadow]

I actually don't really care for the batarang from The Batman...it just looks like a boomerand with scallops on the bottom...a little too bulky for my liking.
I would actually make his batarang look like the bat logo I made...very sleek, very small. It would also be attached on the back of his belt...no folding in half or anything like that. He would keep a group of them hidden on the back of his belt, and when he reached for one he would simply reach behind himself and grab out...no digging through a pouch or any of that.
The TNBA Batmobile is my favorite so far, but this new one is looking pretty damn cool. I actually have all of the Batmobile cars (toys) throughout my apartment....the TNBA is promenently featured with all of my Batman figures.

[shadow=teal,left,300]I love your villains! Making customs sounds awesome (That was the first thing I thought of when I saw your pics, but thought it would be too hard, as I have no cusomizing experience) but now that I hear someone else is doing them I figure what the heck, I'll give it a try.....
anywho....I'd love to see more villains! (I think you'd do sick versions Killer Croc and Man-Bat)
Please keep 'em coming![/shadow]

Ok here's my latest sketch....a little preview of what to expect with Killer Croc. I'm sure most of you will say he looks too much like The Lizard, but if you think about it what made Killer Croc even remotely resemble a crocodile? I know he's got the tough skin and he can swim in water, but he never screamed 'crocodile' to me. With this one I TOTALLY changed everything about him. Earlier with my Penguin picture I sort of hinted at the fact that he performed experiments on kidnapped children from Gotham's streets. Let's say he kidnapped little Waylon Jones when he was just 6yrs of age, and began experimenting with his DNA in an attempt to create a society of 'rejects' like him that would dwell beneath the streets until they were strong enough to wage a full scale war on the 'surface dwellers'...you know that same old thing. Waylon was born a normal child, but by his 8th birthday he had already had his DNA spliced with several reptiles including iguanas, crocodiles, and snakes. By his 10th birthday he had grown a full sized tail, and his skin began to toughen into a thick croc like hyde. Now in his late 20's and transformed into a full blown 'reptile-man' Waylon now using the name "Killer Croc" serves as The Penguins personal bodyguard and right hand man. Although reptilian in appearance, Waylon maintained his human form and mind during his 'transformation' process. Actually a highly intelligent person Waylon has to maintain control over his animal instincts in order to avoid a 'feeding frenzy' type fit of rage in which he loses all control over his sanity and emotions and becomes a mindless killing machine. See I told you it was different....behold, the NEW Killer Croc!

hey, cool Croc! And I'm still making customs, but could you e-mail me those labels/logos/descriptions you were talking about in the post? cafeboy864@msn.com. Right now I only have an extra The Batman Bats, and The Batman Joker. But here is how the customs will be made:
Batman-simple paint over symbol with flat grey, stick on the new OneDisturbedSOB symbol. Voila!
Joker-The Batman Joker, "ripping" off his two lock of hair on the sides, painting the sleeves of his jacket tan, on the left arm, where the sleeve ends. Cut out a cloth sleve to attach (tan) that has no end. Pur the "numbers" on the front, blood spatter the jacket, and add red bracelet to right wrist.
Scarecrow-BTAS Crow with added FF4 lab coat, (custom "badge"), add the tubes of his mask with either paint or sculpey, give him a blood spattered hatch like he has. Litttle details added. Dne.
Riddler- JLA Lex Luthor with repaint, added details. Done. Or, Lex head on Bruce wayne body (requires more work on details)
Catwoman-Still working on this one, most likely, just going to use Hush Wave 2 Cat when it comes out. But scale will be off, so I was thinking of a BTAS Catwoman/TNBA Catwoman mix.
I don't want to make Penguin (too much work), Two-Face (meh), or Mad Hatter (weird bases would cause trouble). but, I want to make Killer Croc, BADLY. Oh, and DisturbedSOB, if you decide to do my Harley "design" I would make her also.
