It's already in the U.S. at most Barnes & Noble stores. I've seen it there myself. It was also available for pre-order through Diamond.

I hadn't seen this one yet...It'd be great for many of us that aren't as familiar with the rest of the DC Universe![/shadow]

Thanks for the news, Matt. . . This is a definite must-buy for me.
I can't really tell. . .. I can make out Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Joker, Two-Face and Lex Luthor, but who's that guy in the back center? Is that Brainiac?

[shadow=red,left,300]Thanks for the tip Matt. I'm going to have to hit Barnes & Noble for that.
Not too mention, I'm a huuugge Alex Ross fan, so the cover alone is worth it to me.[/shadow]

How much is the book at Barnes and Noble? $40. I picked it up last night, and I think it's really worth it. It's full of info, pretty much up to date (i.e., they talk about Sue Dibny's fate, as well as Spoiler's in War Games), and it's full of characters even I've never heard of! The cover is awesome. . . it wraps around, and has The Flash, Green Lantern, etc. . . all the major DC big guns that even tuck into the inside covers of the book (check there to find Robin, The Atom & Cheetah) Definitely a good investment!

[shadow=red,left,300]I found the book earlier this evening at a Hastings bookstore. I passed on it for the moment as I had already pretty much emptied my wallet for the day, but I will get it soon.
I gave it a good run through though, and it's well worth the money.[/shadow]

[shadow=green,left,300]I got to pick up a copy, and W O W! I was impressed by not only the sheer quality of the book, but actually the dust jacket and design as well. Its a high quality book...and something I desperately needed, not knowing too much about the rest of the DC Universe...at least not in great detail!
it baffles me how he can organize so much information..and get it laid out to where its appealing to the eye. All in all fantastic read, IMO! Definately worth the money. An essential for any comic fan's collection[/shadow]

Being a fan of Mr Beatty's other works and having collected them i want this book so bad it's not funny. It's definitely swept to the top of my wants list. His research and excellent layouts on his books are highly addictive and being a bit of a"Book Nut"i really appreciate all the detail he goes into. Thanks for the heads uo Matt.

This is available on Amazon for $27.40. Here's the link (hope it works)http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/075660592X/qid=1096815267/sr=2-1/ref=pd_ka_2_1/102-6137584-7632907 I was fortunate to find a copy of the 1976 printing of The Encyclopedia of Comic Book Heroes Volume 1, Batman at a used book store. This was a series of encyclopedias with each volume devoted to one DC character. Some really good info and interesting reading. Sometimes on-line used bookstores have copies available, probably in the $60 range. Here's a google link with more info: ourworld.cs.com/argentprime/batmanbib.htmThe author is Michael L. Fleisher, and the ISBN on my copy is 0-02-080090-8
