[shadow=teal,left,300]I smell something fishy..... [/shadow] I know...I even asked Itchy Greek about any BTAS or TNBA product, and he said no, without any hesitation... Scarecrow, do you mean somebody is selling photoshopped product that doesn't even exist?

[shadow=teal,left,300]No, it exists but its odd how he seams to be the only one to have these. Plus, how could we not know of them?
edit:
There seams to be at least 3 different sellers with these. Maybe they are legit?[/shadow]

well, its odd to say the least. I have a hard time believing that this is a US product, if its legit at all. There's such a big push about "brand confusion" with the Batman and the older animated universe.
If it were fake, its not very cost effective....for the price they're charging, its not worth it, so perhaps they are real.
I've emailed Mattel, when I hear something back I'll let you guys know

If it is NOT a US product, then it is one of the best foreign or bootleg-type products I've seen; usually you can identify that stuff right away by the shoddy packaging, scale or paint screw-ups, or just bizarre designs - not so with these

Back in the dying days of Hasbro holding the license, strange this like this would show up at and second- and thrid-tier retailers (clearinghouse stores) from time to time. I'm betting these might be something like that. Maybe at the remaining KB stores or Big Lots? If that's true, I hope I can find these. I can use them for customs! C.

I'm pretty confident that these are bootlegs. Very nice bootlegs, but bootlegs all the same. I wasn't sure on the Batgirl pic, but after seeing Penguin, I'm almost positive.
On most Mattel product, they put their logo in the lower right corner (as you're looking at it) of the card. It's white and red, so you should be able to see it in the corner, since this is a clear package. It's not present.

I suppose they could be a run of bootlegs out of Asia, but if so the quality looks unusually high. The card art has been very well manipulated and re-arranged from previous offerings. The bubbles and trays look like they're made to fit the figures (including Pengy's umbrella). Even the die cutting of the card looks high-end.
Besides, wouldn't bootlegs likely have different or at least lesser paint jobs?
Of course, these comments are just based on these dinky pictures.
Time will tell...

I thought the exact same thing - these would be the best bootlegs I've seen - and I've been looking at bootleg figures for about 7 - 8 years now. (Thanks to Bootlegactionfigures.com for providing such an amazing collection for photo references!) On the Batgirl one, I can almost make out a Mattel logo in the lower corner, so maybe it's just not visible in the pic. With all that in mind, I emailed the seller and asked for photos of the back of the card, since that's usually another indicator of it being a bootleg. If I hear anything I'll let you guys know.

In this auction all 5 figures are displayed and the Mattel logo is plainly in view, so I'll shut up and go back to my corner now.... ;D

Isn't it a bit odd that none of the packages have the character name on them?

Ok guys. the OFFICIAL word is these are indeed legit!
however, don't pay a lot for them on ebay..they're going out to other channels like dollar stores, drug stores etc to keep Batman product on the forefront....so we should be able to find 'em for a reasonable price!
Happy hunting!

These are wicked. I picked up Penguin and Batgirl at Big Lots today for $2.99 each. A damn steal!
They do, btw, have their names on the front package, its just on the right hand side where you couldn't see on those other pics. I'll post pics later tonight!

WOO HOO... found them today at Family Dollar. They had at least three cases. (Batman and Nightwing appear to be the dominate the boxes?) This store also had misc. other / older Batman, The Batman, JL/JLU odds and ends Nothing special) FYI: The clerk stated scalpers from area malls have been buying up entire supplies of these TNBA figs and reselling them at $5-$6 a pop at their own kiosks / shops Etc. He gave me the impression this was not just happening in my area and that Family Dollar was not preventing / disallowing the practice?. BE SMART.
