Another exclusive Legions of Gotham / Mattel The Batman chat is done! You can check out our past chats that included a TON of exclusive info and images...many images that are still not public outside of LoG, including the 1st look at the new Batmobile that premiered a week ago on the show. LoG/Mattel Chat #1LoG/Mattel Chat #2LoG/Mattel Chat #3Now, onto the NEW info! ************************ **LoG first told you about the Target Exclusive Arkham 6 pack coming out next summer with the exclusive Poison Ivy figure and a Joker in the Batsuit. Well, we now have an update...they can't do Joker in the Batsuit...but there's something better....we're gonna get..... Wesker & Scarface! Thats right, TWO exclusive villains! This will be a must-have for many of us! We should get a peek at Ivy and Wesker at Toy Fair 06 in February. Watch for our coverage of that. Now, some new for fall 2006 toys in the works.... *A portable Batcave with Batman (not an exclusive figure). This NEW Batcave will feature smaller, portable with soft-goods backround (fabric w/ batcave printing), zip lines, projectile launchers etc. It will also fold into a carrying case. Price point? Only $19.99! BOO YAH! *15" Batman with a huge projectile launcher that can shoot 20 feet. Its got great shiny Chrome and pops in the box. You can shoot one or three darts at once. *A New Bane figure that pumps up on venom 7.5" (in the concept stages) * Bane 2 pack - exclusive Bane re-deco that highlights the electricity caused by his venom -target exclusive. Note - its a re-deco..same sculpt. I asked about *human form bane? - not in 2006, but a good suggestion for 2007*more TRU 4 packs coming, 2 of them, each with an exclusive figure! TRU spring - re-deco of Catwoman! In all purple. Shade is being determined. We in the chat suggested darker or with purple highlights for Mattel. I know that will make a LOT of fans happy! **It was announced exclusively here on LoG that a Gearhead figure will come out in 2006 back in mid-October....we know he'll be called Metalhead on the packaging, due to contract issues. Here's that post from last Oct: Hey all, EXP is for "extreme power". Power Core is no go when it comes to toys, so we went with Power Key. it really is a key so it's an easy cross-over. Batlaw - you're right that there are no more VEIL items coming out. Gearhead - we are doing a gearhead figure (though his name will not be Gearhead on the package due to copyright issues). He does look very cool and will be coming out in Spring 2006... EXP Batmobile - Spring 2006 and lastly... *Walmart will be back in 2006 with a full The Batman line!Good news for those of us that are poor and up late! ;D thats all for now! whaddya think gang?

I don't get it, what contract issues on Gearhead? That was his name on the show, why can't the figure be called Gearhead?

I hate how they can never release Scarface as a single. Hasbro made one but it was in a 4pack of other figures we already had. But in my quest to get all the bat villian Im gonna get it. Hope this 6pack comes with weapons. \ But really looking forward to the Gearhead action figure. The more villians the better I say. DrGreenEvil

sweet sweet news! thanks LoG and Mattel! wesker/scarface?? sweeeeeeeeeeeet!! still worth getting! 7.5 inch bane? sounds too good to be true, although i've grown to like the version that is out. and with the eventual arrival of batman-to-batbot being about the same scale as the current bane, it will fit in even nicer. i'll still get the 7.5 bane though hehehheeh. gearhead is great news too!

Well, we now have an update...they can't do Joker in the Batsuit...but there's something better....we're gonna get..... Wesker & Scarface!Doesn't better normally mean "topping the last one", loosing Bat-Joker and getting the Ventriloquist isn't "better"... it's maybe "as good as" or "just as good" since the pack still offers 2 exclusive villians, a Man-Bat, and prevents the need to hunt down Freeze... but better would be "Bat-Joker is replaced with Wesker and Firefly is replaced by some one else" *15" Batman with a huge projectile launcher that can shoot 20 feet. Its got great shiny Chrome and pops in the box. You can shoot one or three darts at once. Are the projectiles soft? because if it can shoot 20ft that's bound to cause a few lawsuits when Little John decides to shoot one at 5 ft into his brother's face. *A New Bane figure that pumps up on venom 7.5" (in the concept stages) * Bane 2 pack - exclusive Bane re-deco that highlights the electricity caused by his venom -target exclusive. Note - its a re-deco..same sculpt. So is the 2-pack one a repaint of the new one or the old one? I'm not clear... either way, it's nice Bane is getting a redo even if he is in one episode only. TRU spring - re-deco of Catwoman! In all purple. Shade is being determined. We in the chat suggested darker or with purple highlights for Mattel. HOORAY! now I can add a 3rd the Catwoman to my collection... if she comes with an idol too I hope it's purple, I don't need another green or black one. but no mention of Joker in his suit... oh well, my fault for not waking up earlier enough to ask myself.

As much as I wanted to see the Bat Joker I do believe getting a villian we haven't yet as in Scarface and Wesker is better.
My goal is to get the most villians.

yeah G95 the more villians the better for me too.I really want to see the Joker in his suit as the current version gets less and less popular with me every day to be honest

Better to have all the villains out in figure form if possible, at least once. Then we can worry about Joker in a Batsuit etc. People complain about joker too much in the show, they want variety of character there, why should the toys be any different?

WOOHOO!More villains that's great.I'm much happier getting the chance to get Wesker and Scarface,to be honest i wasn't really very interested in the Joker in Batsuit. This is a much better trade-off IMO.Great news, thanks once again to Matt and Mattel for making this happen.

Nah, I'm still gonna have to say that's just "as good as" or "just as good"... Bat-suit Joker for Wesker and Scarface is a good trade, like I said it's still TWO exclusive villians in the set (yeah, I consider Joker in a differen costume an exclusive villian) it's not like it was Bat-suit Joker for that Darn HammerStrike Joker who seems to be required in four packs But if you ask me the only way to make that set "better" is to replace Firefly with one of the villians I haven't found yet... yes, it's selfish of me since others out there probably haven't found him yet have plenty of Strangle Sleeves Jokers, Riddlers, and Clayfaces around, but that's my feelings on the topic.

Seems like a contradiction there.

Well, you're certainly entitled to your opinion champ! but, you're the same person complaining in the Batman show talkbacks about them not using a wide enough variety of villains. Seems like a contradiction there. I think we're having a missunderstanding each other, which is my faulty for using language that does sound a bit negative to discribe something I find posetive, my bad. So let me try and explain what I mean by "not better"... -Original set: With Batman repaint, BatJoker, Ivy, Firefly, Freeze, ManBat= Excellent deal since it's 2 new figures, 1 haven't found yet, and another Man-Bat who I think looked neat, even if it does have that boring Firefly in it -Changed Set: With Batman repaint, Wesker and Scarface, Ivy, Firefly, Freeze, ManBat= Excellent deal since it's 2 new figures, 1 haven't found yet, and another Man-Bat who I think looked neat, even if it does have that boring Firefly in it To me that's not "better"... I don't think it's worse in anyway, I'm still very excited about that set, it's still a damn fine set (especially if it actually cost the $30 you reported it might a few Chats ago) but switching one cool new figure for a different cool new figure doesn't add anything that wasn't already a selling point. Now that I think about it you probably mean 'better' because it's an all new villian not a variant... If that is the case, I'll agree it's a change for the better. As I'd much rather have had Wesker and Scarface as replacement figure then Hammer Strike Joker (who's as overused in the toy line as Joker is in the cartoon) in a point for point trade not looking at the set as a whole a new villian IS a better deal. But my point still is: If you find a $20 bill on your way to work, then get hit by bicycle so you have a horrible limp all day it doesn't make your day over all "better" the one before.... Sure $20 is better then finding nothing, but you still got hit by a bike (and yes, I dislike Firefly's figure with it's odd backpack so much I'm saying it being in the set is like being hit by a bike... not a bus, let's not crazy here! He's not Hammer Strike Joker... but couldn't they have replaced Firefly with a better figure, like Riddler or something, when they were replacing BatJoker with a better one?) So yeah in closing: Ventriolquist for Joker=Better, Set as a whole=Still the same excellent deal it was before. (and about my contradictions, if in fact you still think asking for a Joker in a suit as an unrelated issue to saying the new 6 pack roaster was "as good" counts as such: I like Jokers design [in the suit, the Hammer Strike design not so much] and in toy form I'm only required to buy as many of him as I feel like, right now I have none since there is no suit Joker and I've yet to find the "good enough replacement" that is Strange Sleeves. If I was forced to buy a Hammer Strike Joker every time I saw him, well, I would feel the same way about Joker in toy form I do about Joker in animated form. BUT if Bane, who's been in ONE episode, can get a redo to make himself better, why not Joker? I'm not asking they repaint this Suit Joker 7 times with Hello-Kitty-Neon-Kanji switch his weapons and stick him in every 4 pack so the market is flooded with him, I just want ONE single carded suit Joker figure, and considering the ad in ToyFare for the Riddler wave says Hello-Kitty-Kanji Joker, Clayface, AND Riddler are in the same wave, I don't think adding a Joker redo to a line-up would deny us a villian... unless you count Hammer Strike Joker repaints as villians that cannot be missed)

[shadow=purple,left,300]I think I get what Baghead's saying. Anyway, on to my reactions.
For me, I'm ecstatic that we're getting a Scarface figure. Very cool. I definitely want to have as many villains from this line as possible, and I have a feeling that in the end, "The Batman" will surpass the Hasbro toyline in not only quantity, but quality.
Gearhead. Awesome. One of my favorite designs from the series in figure form. I definitely can't wait. (But I would like to know what the copyright issue is. Maybe it has something to do with some unrelated product? No idea)
7.5 inch Bane? I have no idea how I feel, but it's sounding good. Since it's only in a concept stage, I'll have to wait until I see some pictures or we get more info on it to really comment. Sounds like it could be a winner, though.
Purple Catwoman. If I hadn't already gotten the con exclusive, I would be very happy. It actually doesn't sound like that bad of a figure, and it's nice to know they'll try as hard as they can to give her as dark a purple shade as possible.
As for everything else discussed in the chat... I cannot wait to see where they may go with our suggestions! [/shadow]
