Pretty good opener. I loved the Black Hawks. I like the reference to the alternate history that was created. All of the references to the movie (Justice League DTV) were really good. And the picture of Randal Savage in the museum was awesome. I was just in a war museum today. How ironic that the alternate WWII history was explored so much on JLU, when just hours ago, I was looking at the real things. I would have liked a bigger intro to the Legion of Doom though.

I thought it was an OK episode. I enjoyed the homages to the Blackhawks though I was never a big Blackhawk reader.
I liked that they came up with a (given the context) plausible reason for the Legion of Doom to exist.
One problem I have always had with villain teamups is that they are by their very nature thugs, sociopaths and psychotics. The idea of their organizing is anathema to the way they operate.
But as a "protection racket," as Luthor put it, actually makes sense: It's like a high-powered Mafia to some extent.
Good ep.

I think it was overall a great opener and especially in light of last season's finale. They did a good job of following through. I didnt expect there to be a lingering connection between Lex and Brainiac. I'm glad it hasnt just been forgotton.
The Legion seemed very cool and I like the new setup so far. There were too many cool cameos to count!! Seeing KGBeast was a real treat (especially since he will likely be the only Bat-villain involved). I thought perhaps a bit more time couldve been spent on showing and explaining the Legion Etc. but there should be plenty of time to showcase and evolve over the season.
The inclusion of the Blackhawks was cute and fun but not entirely my cup. I thought most of the tech and such on the island were kinda lame. Flying robot sharks? Just didnt work for me.
Character interaction was fun and well done. The references to previous episodes and overall continuity was great (as always).
Fire was done very well!... and Flash's crush along w/ Hawkgirl's involvement was great and funny.
Thought Dr. Polaris and The Key couldve had better designs but they were portrayed decent enough.
The action was great as usual and once again they somehow managed to fit so much into a single 22 min episode!
I was a bit pre concerned the series might be "toning down" this season, but this episode quickly disspelled that. They are playing up the silver age appeal and inspiration (as anounced), but not by sacrificing anything!
Should be a another great season!

I'm not sure if I liked the idea that Luthor wasn't the mastermind behind the legion, and I missed some of the characters from the original series, Giganta has been featured but I didn't see her in this ep, also Cheetah, Grundy, and several others were missing, although I guess having some of the old time villains like the Key was cool. Since I never read the comics it was just weird for me

Coliv1977: FYI Giganta and Cheetah were both present in the background of several scenes in the LOD headquarters. As far as Grundy is concerned, I think he's still MIA and presumed *"deceased" as of the Episode "Wake The Dead".?

the Costume Polarus sported after Underworld was pretty cool I thought-they made a great figure of him in that for Total Justice
