Another great animated Batman film that is a look alike of Batman:the Animated Series. It has Mr.Freeze in it and he is trying to save his wife, Nora Fries. So he gets a doctor to help him and the doctor says she needs an organ transplant. But the problem is Nora has a rare blood type (AB-) and one of the few Doners with that blood type is Barbara Gordon. And so Mr.Freeze kidnaps her and Batman and Robin try to save her! In my opinion a pretty good movie but not as good as Batman:Mask of the Phantasm!

It's not really a look alike, its made by the same people as the animated series and it follows continuity on the DCAU

Well it doesn't look EXACTLY like it but it has a resemblance to it! That's what I meant!

The direct to video releases for the Timm?Dini stuff usualy had better animation in it. Subzero also featured some computer graphics in addition to the regular 2D animation. It was a cool story, nice watch. Its nice to see you discovered this, you should check out the other animated DTV's if you havent already.

What does Dtv stand for? And Thanks! DTV stands for "direct to video (dvd)". Meaning no theatrical release. The movie goes straight to your local movie rental stores such as Blockbuster. Sometimes this is intentional and other times for various reasons it just happens.

Thanks! But did you know there was a lot of debate on whether Subzero should be a theatrical release or not?

I heard about that. Anyways, I think that this movie should have had more Batman in it. He only appears for 5 minutes altogether.

I didnt know there was any debate about that. I always thought that is was planned as a DTV to coincide with the release of B&R. Of course that got delayed and came out afew months later. I know everyone was joking that it was because Subzero was so much better than B&R. lol

I knew that it was delayed. I believe the rumor was that this was a result of the higher ups at WB knowing that Subzero was better than B&R. I enjoyed the movie enough. It has been too long since I have seen it. It was definitely a great chapter in the Mr. Freeze journey. I wish that they could have had Freeze in JLU. It would have been great to have one more go with him.

It too is made by Timm and company with the updated animation character models.
