Who was your favorite villain on the '60s show? Why?
If you answer "other" tell who.

When it comes down to it, I have to pick the Riddler. He may not be the all-time greatest Batman villain but he was perfect on the show.
Gotta say tho: Boy, that Julie Newmar ...

For me it is the Joker. Dispite the mustache & yellow hair. George Sanders's Mr. Freeze cam in a close second.

George Sanders did make a great Mr. Freeze -- I loved the blue is cold/red is warm climate control device.
But my fave Freeze was actually Otto Preminger simply because he looked and sounded the part. As a kid, I had no idea he was such a big-time director.

Since I can't vote in any polls, I'll just say that Gorshin's riddler is the best. It's the standard for Batman villains as far as I'm concerned. Gorshin's Riddler and Mark Hamill's Joker for the cartoons

hmmmm... I'm gonna have to say Catwoman (Newmar) as well! Even as a kid, I saw "something" in Mrs. Newmar I liked! (meaning charisma or "presence") lol

I had to go with The Joker on this one, simply because he's my favorite Batman villain, and C.Romero had the characterization down pat (for the time). The Riddler would be my second favorite. Gorshin was simply manic with the character! When I think of the Riddler, I always think of the 60's character!

I love the Joker but had to choose The Riddler (and that is not the title of an old Jerry Springer episode!) Frank Gorshin was a total nutter as the Riddler and just stole every scene he was in. I was really sad when I heard he had died. God bless him! He is and always will be the definitive Riddler for me.

The Riddler! Frank Gorshin is a genious and does great in every episode iv'e seen. Power to The Riddler!!! Rest In Peace Frank we all miss you... I never got to see any Mr.Freeze episodes I wish I would have though, and I do admit that I liked the Catwoman episodes too. She and Joker along with the other villains did an outstanding job.

Frank Gorshin did an amazing job with The Riddler, and it was so apparent that his shoes couldn't be filled when John Astin filled in a few times, Gomez from The Adams Family did a horrible job, plus he was a bit pudgy. Does anybody know why Gorshin stepped out? Money Issues? Health Problems? Other projects? And he did return to playing The Riddler didn't he?
My top five villians from the show are:
1. The Joker 2. The Riddler (Frank Gorshin) 3. King Tut (he was hilarious) 4. Catwoman (Julie Newmar) Sooooooo Hot! 5. The Bookworm

The Bookworm Gorshin couldn't be the Riddler for a few episodes the producers wanted to do because he didn't want to do it anymore. So in one 2 part episode actor Maurice Evans ( Dr. Zaius 1968 Planet of The Apes) was cast as The Puzzler, an old Superman villian who was similar to the Riddler. Later John Astin ( Gomez on Addams family) was asked to be The Riddler because of Gorshin not wanting to come back. Gorshin came back one more time in the third season after Astin's disappointing portrayal of The Riddler when the producers persuaded him one more time.

I voted for "Other" and here's the reason why. I saw this show when I was a kid growing up in the mid-late '70s and I was hooked on the King Tut. Naturally I'd have to say Tut for my villain.
But let me say this, Riddler, Joker and Catwoman are my favorites watching the show now that I'm older

Catwoman is someone I love watching, but I won't vote for her as a villain, given the current comic situation. That said, I voted for the first one I saw, The Riddler. I was taken by Frank Gorshin's over-the-top performance when I first saw it on 12 January 1966. I saw him LIVE in Hershey, PA some 39 years later, just before he died.
RIP, Frank!

It's REALLY too bad that Frank decided against returning as the Riddler in the 2nd season! It would have been "Delicious!!!"...Oops!...That's a Joker line! Riddle me this?!...If Frank liked/loved doing the show so much and said so in a lot of interviews and convention appearances right up until his death, why would he have turned down the chance to reprise the role in the 2nd season??!!

Frank Gorshin is the Riddler. I was born in the mid 80's only getting to watch reruns and I know that Gorshin did the definitive version of the riddler. (Isnt it kinda funny that even though he has passed away, he is starting to make THE BATMAN's version of Hugo Strange the definitive version of that character to ?) The Riddler is the #1 Batman villian. But close favorites would be Catwoman, King Tut, Egghead w/ Olga, & Louie the Lilac. Still wish DC Direct would go buy the character rights to these and make a line. Id pay good money for a King Tut and Egghead action figure. DrGreenEvil

It would have to be a tie between the Joker, The Penguin, and the Riddler. But since I can only vote for one I voted for my favorite villain of all time the Joker!

If I had to put them in order, here is what it would look like: 1. The Joker 2. The Penguin 3. The Riddler (Frank Gorshin) 4. Catwoman (Julie Newmar, too bad she couldn't be in the movie!) 5. King Tut
