Legends of the Superheroes - 1979This made for TV movie re-united many cast members from the ultra-campy 60s Batman television show! They were two one hour specials brought to television by Hanna-Barbera. Summary:The adventures of many of DC Comics greatest superheroes and villians. In the first episode, The Challenge, the superheroes must race against time to stop the diabolical supervillians' plot to destroy the world. In the second episode, The Roast, the superheroes pay tribute to Batman and Robin in the form of a roast which even the villians attend. The show included most of the major DC characters, but Wonder Woman and Superman couldn't join the party. They were both being used in either movie or television format at the time. I have this. I got it from the torrents. The format is similar to the Dean Martin celebrity roasts that were popular during the '70s. Pretty campy, but fun to have on when setting up your toy displays or diaramas. Look to torrents for your copy

I vaguely remember this - I was 5 when it came out, but I seem to remember wondering why Batgirl wasn't there.

I have never heard of this one. What is a torrent? A torrent is a downloadable file on a P2P network.

They took it off youtube because of a legal dispute (chances are, the same one they're having with 20th Century in relation to the 60's TV series). But here's a torrent that has both episodes: thepiratebay.org/torrent/3909802/legends_of_the_superheroes.aviOh, and it is on DVD, but it's just not "official", but you can get it with some pretty great cover art, and it is excellent quality. So if you're dying for it and want it on DVD, just Google it. I recently bought a copy on DVD and I love it!
