Being a huge Sesame fan, I can't wait for these. Had them pre-ordered for months. But that's my concern. I expected these to be out three months ago. Palisades is taking an unusually long time getting them out. I'm worried they've had a hard time finding a retail outlet for them.

It looks like these are having a VERY hard time getting off the ground. THey may not even come out at this point. On the Palisades forum they're talking about it. I can't commit to a line that can't promise me all the figs I want..that'd be just frustrating.

I can't commit to a line that can't promise me all the figs I want..that'd be just frustrating. I know. I've always been satisifed with having every Batman character I've wanted represented in Batman toys. (This isn't directed at you Matt - it's at the collecting community as a whole. This mentality seems to run rampant at times and limits the figures/lines that we can get.) Either you want these or you don't. Whether they can promise all the figures that you want or not shouldn't be an issue. Every line isn't going to do every character that's out there. There isn't a big enough market to do so. The Muppets line started out great with the main characters. As a result, it sold well for the first few waves. As Palisades started to get into lesser/specialty characters (Series 7 is really where the line started to die), the line really dropped in popularity. Heck, last I checked (a couple of weeks ago - so it may have changed slightly) at TRU, I can still get Frog Scout Robin, Beauregard, Johnny Fiama and a Mega Gonzo at 50% off - and they still aren't selling. Collectors are the only people that would be interested in those characters. Some waves were a hit, others were a miss. That's the risk that a company runs when putting out such an extensive line. Unfortunately, due to the fact that they're still hanging on the pegs, I doubt that TRU will be placing any heavy Sesame Street orders. It's unfortunate. The Super Grover that I saw at WWC was BEAUTIFUL. (I'm still kicking myself for not buying it - I should have bought that instead of Catwoman.) This line really has potential - both for kids and for older collectors that grew up with the show. If they're going to do it though, I have a feeling that it's going to have to be thru the specialty and online market though, until they prove to the big brick & mortar stores that the line is worthwhile. Either buy the line because you like it - regardless of how many figures you get, or don't. But don't complain that Palisades didn't put them out if, right now you're thinking that you don't want to start picking them up because they might not put out all the figures that you want.

I don't think thats a fair assessment for this specific situation. We're talking about something with a huge range of characters..and if I can only get 8, its not worth my effort. I have only so much money to devote to toys and collecting..and I'd rather wait for a better funded company to put out a decent number of figures. I don't demand every character...but we're talking about main characters that will be left out.
I don't collect most Batman action figure lines for just this reason. Unless they're going to make a good range of characters, like for The Batman, I don't bother. Why should I? I shouldn't have to fork over my hard earned money to an incomplete line of toys. I want a good representation of characters, and I think as a consumer I have the right to hold off until I get it.
For just this reason, I didn't even start the NECA Nightmare before Xmas line until a few weeks ago..now that I know whats coming for sure. I just can't afford to buy one wave of each thing and have it crap out on me.
Its great that these smaller toy companies want to do collector lines...but they need to get to the brick and mortars and sell their stuff! I can't believe no one would want to pick up a Sesame Street line!
I would rather they didn't do it at all, rather than have it done half-assed!

Previews has Big Bird listed as $34.00 And that is an accurate price. Diamond is the specialty market distributor for this line, so if you see it priced in Previews, then that's what it'll retail for. Personally, $34 for the proto I saw pics of (a while back) is not worth it. The more I see of this line and the more I read about the problems they're having - pricing, distribution, material issues (I just read about Super Grover having bendy arms - this has caused the plastic to deteriorate near the shoulder), the more I think that Palisades should scrap it and cut their losses at this point.
