Hey, gang! Black Mask here...And today, I'd like to know what your favorite "villain theme is"...What's a villain theme? It's the short musical cue that a certain character is going to show up in a scene, to help animators/ the orchestral accompaniment better fit their respective fields around the cartoon
For me, my favorite musical cue/ villain theme has to be a tie between Clayface and the Joker...With Clayface you have this really evil, calculating music (like when he's maniacally laughing) one minute, and then you have his "tragic" theme music (like to wards the end of Feat of Clay, P.II)... With the Joker, you have this whimsical musical score that makes you want to laugh, be joyful, and remember why the Joker's such a great character...
At the end of the day, though, I think that I would have to pick the Joker, because while the Clayface one tells a more human story/ more maniacally, the Joker theme helps me remember why I loved Batman: The Animated Series/ Batman/ The Joker all my life, which is no easy task...
What's your favorite "villain theme/ musical cue" and why?

Without thinking twice, I'd say Clayface, if they do release CD's for the series as Shirley Walker hinted at on the DVD commentaries, I really hope that's on there.

Oh, the "Clayface theme" would definitely be on there, considering that it was a part of the (thankfully) hit "cartoon"... (I don't consider it a throw-away piece of animation like some of what's on television today...)
I'm thinking that Shirley Walker/ WB will release the CD's probably around the time that the new movie comes out, as to generate positive buzz (and cash ) thanks to the publicity of the/ a new Batman movie featuring John Q. Public's favorite Batman villain/ Batman movie villain the Joker....

Like most polls on here these days, it won't let me vote, but if it did, I'd say either Two-Face or Clayface, Two-Face because it's so sinister and spine-tingling, and Clayface because it's so tragic.

Does Matt, or, any other Mod know about this? If they don't they should know right away, as this could be the start of even more problems down the line...

I really cant decide! - Poison Ivy's theme in 'House and Garden' had the tragic ending music which was perfect!
-Clayface's theme is full of tradgedy!
-The Joker's/Harley's theme has that Circuss feeling!
But i cant decide so for now i will not vote!

I have gone for the Joker/Harley theme as when you hear it the Joker always pops in your head!

Can't vote (of course), but I have to go with a toss-up between Two Face, 'cuz I love the haunting woodwind sound, and the Penguin... I feel it captures the bizarre-ness of the character perfectly, and sets a frantic, fun tone for the episode.

Has /\/\att or any other Mod been alerted to this/ have they responded with any information about this problem? I don't want something as simple as this to ruin the message boards in the long-run; a glitch in the system to prevent voting...

I love the Two Face theme, it sounds so tragic. Great fit for the character.

I'd probably say that Two - Faces theme was best, but I also like The Invisible Man's theme on "See No Evil". When Kimmy is kidnapped, the theme is very haunting.

My two favorite have to be Two-Face and Clayface. Both there themes seem so tragic, considering both characters have such tragic backstories as to why they are what they are. But in the end, I have to say that I would prefer Clayface's theme.

All of the themes are great. I think a better question would be what is everyone's least favorite. I have to watch all of my DVD's again to come up with an answer. Does anyone have a least favorite villain theme?

I didn't like that Man-Bats theme and Scarecrow's theme were so similar, but that's just about the only gripe I can think of. For the most part, Shirley Walker did a fantastic job of differentiating her villians.

I enjoyed Manbat's theme. It was heavy on the Trombone and because I play that instrument, I was very happy with that one. I don't really recall Scarecrow's at the moment. I'll have to listen to the two side by side.

By Scarecrow's theme, I'm refering to the one from "Fear of victory". I noticed that it's not really that they're similar, it's more that they Harmonize. It's easy to hear the themes playing together.

I am proud to announce that I just finnished learning to play all the Main Villian themes on the piano (by ear, so don't look for sheet music anywhere). My four year old sister knows which theme goes with each character.

Does anyone have a least favorite villain theme? I thought that Penguin's theme got a bit annoying myself. It just sounded kind of goofy, i guess. As for my favorites, it's very hard, because they're all so memorable, but I guess I'd say Two-Face, Ra's al Ghul and Scarecrow if I had to choose 3. ;D Two-Face's theme perfectly conveys both the tragedy and chilling danger of his character, Ra's al Ghul's was very alluring but at the same time hinted at an underlying danger, and Scarecrow's was just plain haunting. I can't seem to think of Man-bat's at the moment, but I believe I really liked that one as well.

My favourite theme is the joker/Harley Quinn theme of course. Is it made by Shirley Walker? I don't know the real name of this song. I think that we can buy an official CD with all of this themes but I didn't found. I found all the others Batman official CD but not the good one.
Thanks for the links Crusader185

I think Clayface's theme is the best. I sure miss Shirley Walker.
