Thanks for saving me the professional embarassment of having to create a thread to promote this myself!
Strikes #30 is, as some of you know, my first Strikes story. It's called YOUNG AT ART, and I had a great time writing it. And don't even get me started on Sanford Greene's amazing artwork! It's gonna knock your socks off.
So, see you on Feb. 14!

<<Catwoman has become quite the character for Strikes >>
It's because she's just so much FUN to write. And the chemistry she shares with Bruce/Batman makes their adversarial relationship different than any other Rogue.

Yesterday I received copies of the lettered pages, and the issue looks great! It's particularly neat for me to see the easter eggs I've dropped throughout the issue, some of which require the word balloons to be fully realized! (One hint: there's a character on the first page who's first name will be familiar to anyone who knows me well.)

As this is my first STRIKES story, I'd love to hear what anyone has to say about it.
And, whoever can the first person to identify all the Easter Eggs in the story will get some kind of prize. But you probably have to know me REALLY well to get them all. ;-)

I loved the story it was great, I like how Alfred helped as well. It was nice to see Detective Yin back and I loved how GCPD came in and the situation was already taken care of, I got a good laugh out of that. I would love to see you tackle a Riddler story, I love Catwoman's attitude in this story, conveniently someone else tried to rob the same night as her. very awesome work, can't wait to see you do another issue! That's what I want to hear! It's a lot of fun to write a book that's so strongly humor-based.
There actually was a 1-page setup to the cops breaking in the door in the first version of the script, but it was cut for space (Strikes stories are 20 pages, not 22). It showed how people outside the museum, especially the cops, were reacting to the standoff and it built suspense. But when I realized I needed to cut a page, it was an easy cut to make.

Hey, I have a Riddler question: What's the best episode of the show to watch (or issue of Strikes to read) that has the best representation of the new Riddler, something that'll help me get the voice/mindset of the character? Obviously I know it's not the traditional Riddler. He seems more... psychotic now.

Definatly "Riddled" or "Riddler's Revenge"... he sort of had a smaller part in the episode that included Joker and Penguin at the end of Season two

"Night And The City" was a good episode but it was more of a showdown between the three villains [/shadow]

My thanks to everyone who bought a copy of STRIKES #30 and helped it reach #178 on the February sales charts, according to icv2.com! According to estimated sales, 7,335 copies sold!
The chart's just an estimate, of course, and it doesn't include copies that will sell after February, but still, it feels good to know that many people picked up the title.
Best, Russell
