I didn't get to a comic shop today, so I'm not sure if this issue hit the stands today or won't be out until next week - but I got my copies of The Batman Strikes #33 earlier this week and it looks great. I'm usually a little frustrated by the color on this book - it's a little dark and low-contrast for my taste - but this issue looks terriffic.
It's a good story by Jai Nitz and Terry had lots of fun inking vines, which is par for the course on a Poison Ivy story. Check it out and let me know what you think! (And keep an eye out for gratuitous violence to Poison Ivy simulacrums.

I liked how Ivy came up with a deadly vine that could devour the city, pretty cool. If I can't convinve Gotham to go green, I'll paint the town red ;D Awesome work Chris, you did great along with everyone else! Can't wait for Riddler's issue [/shadow]

Well now I know for sure the issue is out. Great! Let's hear what you think of it.
You know, I'd like to get a discussion about the comic in general going on here. I'd really like to hear what people think beyond the kind kudos for an individual issue.
How do people think the stories compare to the ones on the show?
How do you like the balance of plot to action?
Do people want to see more of Bruce, Dick and Barbara in addition to Batman, Robin and Batgirl?
Considering that we are probably limited to villains that have already appeared on the TV show for the comic, are there any villains that you guys think are overdue for a return appearance in the comic or are otherwise deserving of more attention?
With the art, I try to stay close enough to the animation models to keep DC and WB Animation happy, but I still try to move the look of the book as far towards my own style as I can within those confines. With Batman there are very specific style guides from the show on how his cape should look and move, and as time has gone on I find myself straying further from those guides in an effort to not repeat shots and to find shots that look their best as a static image as opposed to animation. Is it working? Do you guys like the cape action?
How do people like the looks of the characters overall (I'm talking in the comic, not just the animation designs from the TV show). Batman? Robin? Batgirl? Alfred? The villains?
Let me know what you think. I'm not in a position to dictate stories on the book and cater to fan demands, but it's interesting to hear the feedback nonetheless.
And please do chime in on #33 specifically!

I haven't been checking out the series possibly because I just don't look for the issues. However, when I come and see these threads, I always tell myself to at least pick up an issue and look through it. That aside, if I assume the Batman Strikes issues are like the other Batman comics, there is a lot more just Batman and Robin than Bruce and Dick/Tim. I've always thought there should be more of the characters behind the masks in the comics like in the shows, and if you guys did that more, I'd really respect that and make the time to check it out. Plus, the story might even be more interesting than before. PS - the next time I stop at my comic store, I'll check this series out, promise
