Hey all, I just got my copies of the first Batman Strikes trade paperback "Duty Calls", so it should be in stores soon. It looks pretty good, and it's a full size TPB, as opposed to the first two Strikes collections which were digets format. I don't know if there are any plans to re-release those collections in TPB format, but I imagine if this and future releases do well it would only help the chances. Duty Calls collects The Batman Strikes #11-14, and #16-18, skipping #15 which was the Batman vs. Dracula tie-in. Why did they skip that one? I have no idea. The stories included are: Man of Service - Featuring The Penguin Break-in at Gotham Central - Featuring Bane Prowler - Featuring Catwoman Sands of Time - Featuring Clayface Hit and Run - Featuring The Joker A Question of Identity - Featuring The Riddler The Greenhouse Effect - Featuring Poison Ivy Duty Calls is a great way to catch up on the series or introduce a friend to the series. remember, if you want more collections like this, the best way to make that happen is to help this one do well. **EDIT - Here is the cover thx to Chris! www.comicspace.com/christopherjones/comics.php?action=read&file_id=154163

Thanks for the update Chris!
I'm guessing they left #15 out cause it was more meant to just be a movie tie-in, rather than a part of the regular strikes universe. It would've been nice if they'd included it, though.
Can we see a pic of the cover?

I was thinking the same for #15, one of my favorite issues. [/shadow]

I hope the collections continue. Strikes is such a great gateway comic, and trades clearly are the future model for attracting readers -- look at the growing graphic novel collections at any Borders or Barnes&Noble.

Two of my ongoing gripes about the regular comic is that the coloring is darker than I'd like, and they make the covers overly goofy with some of the color choices and cover copy. The cover of this trade is remarkably "straight", and the colors actually seem a little brighter than the original issues. I'm not sure if that's just a difference in the paper or what, but I'm pretty happy with it...
