Best episode of the season so far. Easily. Here's why:
-- For once, it had the right mix of action and drama. To this point, the episodes have been great action showcases but the drama has been lacking. You can't help but compare this series to TAS and this script would most definitely hold up to that high standard.
-- It was the first time the Joker really felt dangerous and creepy. They got him just right. He actually reminded me of the Joker in DKR -- you could see how this Joker could age into that Joker.
-- Great glimpse of the Joker's origin.
-- Many of the eps have been formulaic in approach. This wasn't formulaic at all.
-- I've gone out of my way to try to avoid spoilers but I've long suspected that Ethan would become Clayface so I wasn't stunned. My wife, however, was stunned. My 6 yo son kept waiting for Matt Hagen to show up but finally figured it out just before the end.
-- My wife pointed out that Ethan is the new Harvey Dent. She's right, which makes me wonder how they'll handle Two-Face when his time comes.
-- This one was for grown-ups, too.

[shadow=purple,left,300]This was definitely the best episode of the series. For once, there was no stupid dialogue, the episode wasn't purely about action, and there was plenty of plot to make me happy!
This series has improved greatly since its premiere. It also gets the hard-to-earn 10/10 from me!
Can't wait until next weekend's conclusion![/shadow]

I agree with Batdan. They really have captured the aspect of the Joker right this time. A little bit of corny jokes, but I can let that pass. I've notice that this episode also captured Batman being a detective in his search for the Joker's whereabout. Even though I already knew that Ethan will turn into Clayface, the end of the first part still a bit surprised, especially when he touched his face to find out.

I thought it was awesome! Could Bennet become Clayface? Or would that be too scary for this show? It would be a cool lead in for him. And The Batman could be the cause, but I doubt it would happen.

[shadow=red,left,300]Like Matt, I've known about the plot twist as well, but nonetheless I was still impressed with what I saw. Even if it was the last 10 minutes. [/shadow]

I knew as well but i was still excited. This episode was great and then just a little bit ago cartoon network was airing an older ep and compared to clayface ep, clay was far more superior. Bennets aggressions towards batman was good and seeing joker torture his mind into insanity gave me chills. BUT the only downside is that this ep played alot like the twoface origin so i hope that doesn't mean they're not doing two face. Overall great...the best ep this season in my opinion.

One thing is changing Mr Freeze's origin from scientist to bank robber but Bennett becoming Clayface? That's just not right, better choice for Bennet would've been Two-Face.

Questionable as Bennett's becoming Clayface may be, I have to say this truely was one of the better The Batman episodes that have aired. And for once, it actually didn't focus much on Batman! The interaction between Bennett and the police chief made me feel much more for Bennett than older episodes. I almost hated Bennett earlier because he just seemed so one dimentional. Joker origin glimpse was a very nice touch as well.
And I have to say this doesn't necessarily kill the origin for Two-Face. Could Harvey Dent possibly come in to fill in Bennett's old position? He could be the one that the Chief likes the best because he could be just as hard pressed to capturing The Batman. I dunno, just a thought. Definitly looking forward to the second part AND the second season just by watching this episode alone.

[glow=green,2,300]My sentiments exactly, Darkness. I agree on the corny jokes thing, but you gotta admit, that DEFINES the Joker. My only complaint is that Kids WB didn't air these two shows back-to-back. That would've been SWEEEET![/glow]

I will also give props to this episode as the season's best, for many of the reasons already mentioned. Finally there is plot and character development that approaches the standards set by BTAS. As I've written before, it is nearly impossible for long-time fans to view this new series without comparing it, even subconsciously, to BTAS (sorry Matt) - but for the first time, I was blown away by the storytelling in this episode. I don't have a problem with Bennett becoming Clayface; after all, there have been at least three different characters (that I know of) that have become Clayface in the comics. The finale should be awesome!

Finally had a chance to watch this yesterday and all I can say is WOW!! This by far was the best episode of the season! The writers did a fantastic job of setting up Bennett's fall from grace (his frustration with the PD and The Batman) and next week is sure to be a BLAST!

Wayneson... heh, yeah... Bennet being clayface is no big deal as far as changes go. there have actually been a total of 5 different clayfaces in the comics. no joke... FIVE! One more certainly won't hurt... besides, in TAS they used two of the clayfaces from the comic to come up with Matt Hagen's new origin, so even HE isn't accurate to the source material :-P

[shadow=purple,left,300]Next week is gonna be a blast, and that one will definatly be the best of the season. The only thing that sucks is that since Bennet, in this series, is Bruce's best friend and Bruce's best friend turns into a villain, that means that Harvey Dent won't become Two-Face. Which sucks. But atleast there's Clayface!!! This series is more kid-friendly then B:TAS was, which is why (so far) it isn't nearly as good. But this show still rocks, even it is Two-Faceless. ;D[/shadow]

Just watched the second part today. It was good based on the aspect of character developement if Bennet, Yin and The Batman. I really like the part where Yin almost went through with her promise with the Batman. When the screen fade out at that part. It was scary. I like how the episode ends. Great music. Fits the mood at the moment. But is it alright for The Batman to trust Yin as a partner? HMMM......

I finally saw this on kidsWB's weekday scedule on thursday. A very good episode; I really liked when Joker vaguely told about and remembered his "very bad day."
