a) its been like that since....before.
b) why are you in class, on a staurday?
REVIEW: There has confusion on this episode. First it was the part where Kids WB changed the schelude "Thunder" with this, then finally there was, while the prioducers denied it, the idea of this episode featuring Harley Quinn for ther first time in TB version or be the TB version of the BTAS episode "Be A Clown".
The story starts off with the Mayor of Gotham promoting the Chili cook off. After swallowing a chili the Joker made, thus the Joker pops up to gas him. Batman and Batgirl appear as well and Joker sees that if Batman has his sidekick, Joker wants his own "mini-me", so he sees Barbara's so-called class clown (who ain't funny to begin with) and he makes him as his apprentice; The Prankster.
Well, it ain't Harley Quinn. But his costume is somewhat based on her so I guess this is a way of having an open spot of her to take on once she appears in the future of the series. And this "Prankster" may act like what Harley may do once she appears but we all know better and love Hatrley more to. He only lasts only once since....well in the story and that he's named after a Flash villian.
Anyway....
Beyond THAT sidekick, Batman's sidekick is also focused on (unless it wouldn't be good). She wants more in the "business" and less of a freelance. This is basically something we all can feel since the idea of her just appearing and that's it seems boring if it keeps on going over and over again. But as she wants in and into his "secret hideout", Batman replies "then it wouldn't be a secret".
I may be the only one who sees this, depending on whom also agrees with me, but I feel that Joker has been improving much. Before, the bones of him were there to make him dangerous to a degree but not enough to either suit viewers or suit what makes him him. But from his first appearence to now, he seems to have gotten to the point into making good one-liners and becoming tolarable.
Overall, the sound and animation were good as the rest of season three. We get charaxcter devlopment for Batgirl and the relationship between her and Batman rising up. And we get a spot for Harley Quinn to pick up in the future.
RATING: 8/10

This is my favorite Season 3 episode yet it's my second favorite after Riddled! I love this quote Joker:" Uhh... Not grabbing me what else you got?" Donnie:" Uh okay... the police banquet cover the floor with mousetraps." Joker:" Doesn't scream Joker." Donnie:" Seal cops in giant playing cards?" Joker:" Uhhh been there done that." Donnie:" Giant crossword puzzle maze!" Joker:" Too [glow=green,2,300]Riddler. [/glow] Finally I at least get to hear a funny pun like that, I remember Joker saying the exact same thing in an old Batman episode I believe it was a TNBA episode. Anyways I give this episode a 10 out of 10 and it even showed us Joker's hideout and chemical beginning. I'm very happy now ;D.

An alright episode. I think I saw an homage to "Be A Clown" when I saw there was a tank of water in Joker's hideout. Did anyone else see that?
At the end of the show, it looks like Joker is starting to turn go into his dark side a little bit. He pulled out a gun! But it was just the classic toy gun with the "Bang!" sign.
7/10

I really hate these episodes have no closure they just sorta end after Joker gets knocked out. Joker doesn't go to jail, we don't have an end cap with Batman in the cave, it's just "ugh, I'm defeated" Trumphant Batman standing stoically THE END
what's up with that!
I did like Prank, although I wish they hadn't decide to make him backout of his sidekick role. He and the Kabuki Twins need to find their way to the mainstream continuity if you ask me... Harley's become like Nightwing, Their origins are closely tied to Joker/Batman and they're probably the only one those emotionless freaks truely love but they have grown as a character and can, and more often then not do, exist on their own as a solo being not so much a sidekick anymore as an occational ally. At least while Nightwing is off doing his solo thing Batman has Robin to help around the cave... but what's Joker got?! NOTHING. He needs his own murderous little pyscho to help him out while Harley's not around... plus if Batman could beat him with a lead pipe and leave him next to a bomb on those days he just can't ride of one any other way!!
Yeah, Prank's a cool concept! Too bad the episode was kinda meh. 5/10

I agree with Dr. B - the episode starts out with an interesting concept, but then goes nowhere, with no resolution or satisfying conclusion that moves the Bruce/Babs narrative forward...the ep should have ended with the Prank kid in school, scared straight and studying hard, Joker back in Arkham (maybe sketching the jester suit, with a girl in it this time), and a final scene of Batman and Batgirl driving the Batmobile into the cave, with Bruce flipping on the lights, in sections, and Barbara's eyes getting wider and wider when each section of the cave is revealed...the music swells, a closeup of her face mouthing a silent "wow" - then to black. I mean, what is Bruce waiting for here? The longer he avoids fully accepting Barbara as a partner, the more chances he takes that she will be killed...

This is just me talking, but I can't wait until they get Robin on the show. He and Batman can really relate. They're both orphans and they want to fight crime. Batgirl's just a fan who decides to put on a costume and tries to help out. BRING ON THE REAL DYNAMIC DUO!

Well after the next episode with Maxie Zeus, and after a hiatus (don't ask), there is that two parter finale. How I know there even is a two parter? Because there's two more listed to be aired and found out what they are. It'll be stupid if it woudl be two regular episodes.
So I believe what we're feeling about Batman and Batgirl, it'll happen in that two-parter. Otherwise, how would Robin work out?
BTW, I got a feeling Hugo Strange will be involved in the last two episodes.

I dunno...I can see what you're saying, but personally, a shot of Joker going to jail and batman back in the cave EVERY time is just the same as him standing there every time. I'd rather have more time for action and story and less wrap up. I kind know what happens after Joker loses, lol

You don't need a guide to tell ya that..they make 13 episodes per season and 11 have been announced. Logic would dictate that we'll get a two-parter, based on season one and two...but we can't be sure until something is announced

Hey all.
I liked this episode. It did seem like a progression episode. Batgirl has asked Batman to open the door for her as a sidekick in the past, but this episode basically focused on it. I saw this episode as more of a development episode for Batgirl more than a Joker wants a sidekick type of story. I hope they don't drop her (yet again) immediately for other "batman only" episodes.
I would hope he eventually lets her in on things a little bit. But I don't want her to get used as background chatter for when Robin is pulled in. I for one don't want to see Robin for a long time because I think they can really run with the Batman/Batgirl dynamic for awhile. Because it hasn't really been done before, right? Robin has usually always been there before Batgirl? Pretty sure that's the case. Don't snub Batgirl's development (i.e. keep her "wanting in") until Robin finally comes around and then never let us see her again.
As for Joker - It would be really nice if this is revisited and they brought Harley in. I'll say one thing though - they have an extremely large character base and seem to only focus on one or maybe two at a time each episode. (And there aren't that many episodes per season) I hope things don't turn into "tribute" too much where each character gets an episode or two and then you never see them again.
The ending with Joker in Arkham and Batman back at the batcave? Cliche! It has been done too much in the past, and I think "The Batman," while staying true to the characters, is trying to break from that "batman has been done before many times" mold whenever possible.
8/10

I'll give you a descriptive rundown of the episode tommorow Dark Nightwing. I managed to write half of the episode let me try and get done with the rest. It all starts out with a Chili competition and Mayor Grange is the judge, he tries the first chili and it is extremely spicy. Mayor Grange can’t even talk because of it, he then spots something next to the Chili, a Joker card. Out of nowhere a funny looking Fire Truck comes and the crowd of people begin to panic, Joker comes out with a hose and purple fire fighter suit. The people run away, Joker comes up to the Mayor with a hose full of chemicals (I really don’t know what it is but it’s bad.) As Joker gets closer the Batmobile comes and out jumps Batman. Punch and Judy then Attack Batman but Batman dodges them. Since the Batmobile is on the hose Joker goes back to the Fire Truck and uses the ladder to grab Mayor Grange. Mayor Grange is trapped and begins to panic, as Joker gets closer with a bottle of chemical gas. Batgirl comes swinging in and Mayor Grange gets free, Batgirl then goes to help Batman beat up Punch and Judy. Joker then thinks, look at them why don’t I have a sidekick? Joker calls Punch and Judy and he drives off, the hose connected to the Fire Truck bursts as a cloud of green gas passes Batman and Batgirl (Batgirl having an oxygen mouth piece in her mouth pulls it out and Batman is gone.) Meanwhile at Joker’s hideout Joker takes a dart and hits a picture of Batman on the wall, he then sighs as he says, “I need a sidekick.” Punch and Judy begin to look sad, Joker looks at them and says, “You two don’t count, your goons!” He walks over to a window in his hideout and says,” I’ll have a sidekick of my own.” At Barbara’s school, she is solving an equation and is hit with a spitball right between the eyes. Barbara is disturbed and sits down on a whoopee cushion, no-one laughs and Donnie (the boy) says, “ Why isn’t anyone laughing at the Class Clown?” Barbara “ Donnie you have to be funny to be the Class Clown.” (Everyone starts laughing) he says to himself, “If you don’t think I’m funny I’ll just go where I’m wanted.” Meanwhile at a Comedy Club the room is silent and people begin to leave, as Donnie begins to frown he hears clapping from the back. The man stands up and a walks to Donnie, Donnie is shocked because he sees that it’s Joker. Joker says no one understands how funny your jokes are but, I can help, you can be my sidekick, I’ll be around. Donnie is in Detention and he leaves as he teacher makes a smart remark, hope you enjoyed the funny time we had today (or something like that.) Donnie leaves and Joker is mowing the school’s lawn, Donnie sees him and Joker makes a quiet sign as Donnie’s teacher walks by. Joker hooks a cable to the teacher and he’s yanked onto the top of the flagpole. Every student laughs and Barbara looks shocked, Donnie and Joker are now in an alley laughing their heads off. Joker and him become fond of each other and Donnie becomes his sidekick, at Joker’s lair Punch and Judy are jealous of the attention Donnie gets. Joker shows Donnie around and he is amazed by the interesting gadgets that are around him. Batman is on a building looking for anything suspicious and Batgirl swings in seeing Batman doesn’t really care for her, Batgirl says I knew you’d be around this part of town. Batman doesn’t care and he and her look around. Donnie is now telling Joker his plans until he has nothing, Punch and Judy are not amused so one of them spits bubble gum on the floor and Donnie steps on it, they snicker . Donnie comes up with a plan about bubble gum and Joker agrees, Punch and Judy are not happy.

I liked this one a lot, especially the Joker's attempt to reflect Batman. Loved the joke in the beginning when Joker tells Punch and Judy that they can't be sidekicks...they're GOONS!
It was creepy seeing Joker trying to corrupt Donnie's mind as well as Joker's quest to try to get Donnie into the chemicals to turn him into another Joker.
I'm going to rewatch Be a Clown tonight to see what you guys mean by the water tank.

This was a good ep. I agree with alot of yall on how we see the Joker becoming more dark and murderous. Many people complain about how they use the Joker way to much, but I like how they are trying to show the parrallel between him and the Batman. One good, one bad. But then also how they are intertwined. How The Joker is Batmans big bad. Did anyone else notice how Batman deflected the Jokers cards with his gauntlets, ala Wonder Woman. And how on last weeks ep, when he was in the top, he changed into his costume by pulling apart his shirt to reveal the bat emblem, ala Superman. If they make fun of Spiderman next week im gonna lmao.

I thought the episode was good. I was however finding myself in the beginning before Prank's character was introduced wondering and hoping that Harley was going to be introduced as the Joker's sidekick. Once I saw it was a boy well that answered my question. However I did think Prank's outfit was similar to Harley's outfit.
