Yes! Good episode! The best Freezew episode in my opinion! I would have liked the fact if ithe show would end with Freeze and Penguin still in the water. Alfred sounded a little different but I was glad he got a big role. Yuin, or w/e his name is had a VERY weird voice the first time I heard him, but it kind of grew on. The treasure hunt was cool andhow both villains wanted it. I'll give this a 9/10!

REVIEW: Before, or during Season Three, I can't remember. But anyway, one of the crew of TB revealed that one epsiode would feature Mr. Freeze and The Penguin. After "Thunder", we had two more episodes left of the season and I knew that this episode wouldn't be suitable as the finale episode. So we waited and waited, it kinda seemed long but it was actually three months. But the month before its US airing, this epsiode aired, along with the finale, aired elsewhere and the people who caught loved it. Now it has aired, let's check it out.
The episode is like this: there is this auction of an rare umbrella and Freeze and Penguin are after it. After a fight between them and Batman, the umbrella ends up in the hands of one of the bidders who shows up at Bruce“s house after that. Its then revealed he is an old friend of Alfred named Urin. He asks for an old book containing maps of as the umbrella has clues to get to a secret hideout inside the old city tunnels. There is treasure, and Penguin and Freeze are after it unless Batman has somethignto say about that.
This episode was actually pretty nice. The reviews of this I heard before hand were right. It was good. The relationship between Alfred and Urin would be the first highlight. I originally thought they would be good friends, but its the opposite. Alfred doesn't he like Urin that much and same would go for Urin himself and his face when Bruce asks for Alfred to join him with his search. Its obivious Urin is one level thinking on getting hands of the tresure and nothing else.
The return of Penguin & Freeze, again, were expected from that interview. I can believe though that it was every person's believablilty that Penguin was gonna appear once more since he offen does. However, I can't remember if this had happen before in the show in some form or another, but Penguin's umbrella popped out a blade to a guy. So Penguin was threatening somebody wth a knife, sorta speak. That was....unexpected for this kinda of show.
Throughout the whole episode, I've been wondering how Mr. Freeze would know the treasure that hardly anyone knew about except for Urin and Penguin. The fact that it wasn't mention doesn't ruin it but I would've liked to know. Same thing Pengin had, Freeze threatened Alfred using ice in a stabbing weapon. The exact action was how T-1000 did it in T2 but the fact that they did in this show was expected similar before.
Overall; animation, voice acting, and sound were good as usual. I would treat this episode in the ok/good section of things. The story was fine, but it kinda was losing something that makes the rating go down. Like "the punch" if that makes any sense. While this episode was okay, the next one will be better.
RATING: 6.9/10

This was a good episode. Great to have Freeze back again, I just wish he had more than one episode each season. Overused Penguin shows up again. I know him and Joker are his biggest enemies, but they don't have to be in every episode to prove it.
The story was good for a Treasure Hunting tale. Though you'd think Penguin would've known more about his family's own secret stash.
I give this episode an 8 out of 10. Next up, the season finale with D.A.V.E.!

Great episode - Freeze at his best - but i still feel he needs some depth! Penguin was great and the how the narrative was set was perfect! Some voices were a little off but all in all a good episode! I give it a 8/10 - not the best of season 3 but def. not the worse!

I liked this episode. Freeze didn't have many puns this time which made him a lot better of a villain. The animation was outstanding. I thought the voice acting for Alfred was a little odd. Maybe it is just where I have been watching so many B:TAS episodes lately. I liked the story and the way that Freeze got his duplicate of the umbrella handle. Penguin's explosive was cool, along with his flamethrower to Freeze. And that last line of Freeze's was great. Just a simple shut up told it all. I thought this was a great episode and I'm looking forward to the season finale.

Meh. I find this Penguin virtually unwatchable. Amen. I find his character design terrible and the voice does not fit him at all, also, I love Clancy Brown as a voice actor, but I just don't like him in the role of Mr Freeze. Freeze should have a german accent;, which Brown is not doing at all, and that character design is just...Well, anyway. As far as this ep, it was the first one I see since probably the pilot. It was OK. I liked the acting of the Ulin character and I liked the interaction between Freeze and Penguin. I'm actually very curious to see next week's ep with D.A.V.E

Meh. I find this Penguin virtually unwatchable. How so Batdan? Well, I'm not crazy about the interpretation, the voice or even the design. The Penguin is a very hard character to write. How do you make an innately comical figure dangerous? Few have gotten it right and in this case they've made him an unrefined boob. There's nothing sinister about him. Worse, I think Tom Kenny's voice work is over the top. I also think the design brings nothing new to the table. The best take on the Penguin, I think, is the idea of him as a criminal "fixer" or behind-the-scenes gangster.

No one will ever top Michael Ansara's Freeze from BTAS. It was the perfect mix, lacking all obvious emotion but full of angst and heartbreak. Try as I may, I can't avoid thinking of Lex Luthor when Clancy Brown speaks. As for Penguin, I agree with Batdan - this take is just all wrong, it's easily the worst re-imagined character on the show. The only things that made his earlier appearances tolerable were the Kabuki Twins.

There is one major thing about this episode (involving Mr. Freeze) that i found irritating. in fact, it's the same thing i have found irritating about Freeze's OTHER two appearances as well.
HOW does he even get "captured?" He always just shows up at the end wearing cuffs and heading off to Arkham. I wish they would explain why he doesn't just bust free and freeze everyone around him (allowing him to escape at the very least).
At this point i just force myself to assume his suit is broken by the time he's captured... like, that's all i can think of. His suit is the reason he's able to fire his freezing abilities from his hands, and at some point it get's damaged, therefore rendering his powers uncontrollable. And that may very well be what the writers WANT us to assume, it would just be nice if they EXPLAINED it at some point. Maybe if they would just visibly SHOW the damage to his suit, or something like that. or even just have him be unconscious when he's taken to Arkham... I would find that perfectly acceptable, but no. he's always fully conscious and aware of the situation, though he doesn't make any attempt to escape. I guess in his first episode he was unconscious after the Batmobile jets knocked him down, so that doesn't bother me as much.
This Freeze obviously doesn't suffer the same dissadvantages that the old Freeze did (only being able to survive in sub-zero temperatures), because his "helmut" gets broken on several occasions, having no effect on his health. I guess it could also just be that his suit runs out of power conveniently by the time the episode is over, but i don't buy that. i just want to KNOW why they're able to keep him locked up!!!!!!

I have to disagree with you Batdan. You are completely entitled to your opinion but the way I see it, anyone can be a mobster, behind-the-scenes gangster. But the Penguin is just that, a penguin-like guy. The fact that he has sharp teeth, the deadly umbrellas, and awesome sidekicks is a complete improvement. I think that this version is the best version I have seen yet. That isn't to say that I believe that about all of the characters. I have stated numerous times that I find Joker for TB to be only a so-so interpretation. I think the voice fits him because it is both sinister and penguin sounding.

Even Michael ansara had an accent, so yes he should be a german

I was never so in-depth to notice that but now mentioning it, it does seem awkward. Best guess is that the writers don't much care about that part and just end the episode with the villain being caught. Im sure that Freeze could have taken them all out, but then again, he was in the water so his suit could have malfunctioned by the end, which they dont go into and I doubt. Another guess, he was probably in the water for some time, since it takes a while for the police to actually get on the vehicles and find them in the water and he was just plain tired. But how did Penguin survive? I think many question could be answered if Bruce visits Arkham or Batman. We saw how Clayface was kept sealed and Freeze's should be different too. Not bars that he could freezxe and break but something he couldn't penetrate.

Not a bad episode. Shame they had to use the penguin again! ( used too much ) It's a shame that they didn't go into some of the history between Alfred & his friend. I actually like this version of mr Freeze and would only hope that they use him on more ocassions. Not the strongest of episodes for this series, but the episodes are generally getting better.

I really enjoyed this episode. (So did my son) I've really grown to love this Penguin interpretation. His oafishness and brash, cartoony nature really hides how vicious and dangerous he is. That's the beauty of the new The Batman in terms of characters. Yes, they are different, but there is still enough of them to be recognizable.
The Penguin is still Oswald Cobblepot and he is still a short stocky little thief. But he can also fight, a hong-kong action nod that I love.
In regards to Freeze and his capture, his 'helmet' is just ice that he generates, so when it's broken, he simply repairs it. Since his freeze powers are not from a weapon (like TAS Freeze) it is a bit of a puzzle how they restrain him. Is it the suit? The suit contains him, but his power to generate ice comes from him. He SHOULD be able to freeze everything around him and escape. Maybe we was just too tired from the battles and being washed away in the underwater flood.
Also a cool manuver made by Batman when fighting the Penguin at the auction. The cape attack. I loved that animated move, very well done. Batman whips his weighted cape around, it wraps on Penguin's feet, and he pulls back around...BAM...he's down. All done in a fluid motion. Excellent animation there!

It was good to see Freeze and Penguin working against eachother, but i like it better when villains is working together to bring an end to the Batman. I agree, it is interesting to see them work together instead of rivalry. But most team ups do lead to competitions.
