With all the excitement of Artifacts today, I guess we forgot to start a thread for the Legion today. In my opinion it was alright but it just hasn't been the same as the first episodes were.

Brainiac talking about all the colors of kryptonite was funny and awesome. I wanna see what the purple kryptonite does. Is it just me or did the mining spider robots look alot like the spider robots from WORLDS FINEST ? Anyone else think stargate? Timberwolf is cool. Overall though this series is starting to lose my interest a little. Wheres Mordru or the other members? Wheres MatterEaterLad ?

The show is already starting to stagnate IMO too. I would at least be entertained by using a greater variety of characters. This episode was a slight improvement over the last couple of real dogs, but still not even as good as the first two initial episodes. A simple and decent effort with some good and bad points, but nothing to get excited about.

The only word that keeps coming to my mind while watching this series is "potential."
I keep thinking they are going to finally launch a good episode that really pulls you into the story. Even today, the lead-in for the episode set up what looked to be a fun episode...but then it kinda, well..."stagnated." (Thanks, Batlaw)
I honestly wonder how many of us are going to be left for these discussion threads on LoSH. And that is not only because the show is losing what little popularity it had, but what on EARTH do we talk about?
DrGreenEvil pretty much said all that there is to say. What else can we say?
"I liked the part when errr...uhhh...." "When Brainiac 5 went crazy it was...uhhh..." (felt more like a..well let's be honest.. a Saturday morning cartoon)
----
The stories leave a lot to be desired. The dialog doesn't flow well....at all.
I won't accept the fact of "well - look when it airs. What do you expect?" I expect something that is somewhere near the quality of The Batman...which airs right next to this show!
Is it just a D.C. concept that they latched onto in order to launch yet another cartoon series? Is this a primary example of how fandom among the developers is really what determines if a comic series is successful or not? (Number of Batman, Superman, Justice League fans versus the number of fans of the Legion concept?)

It feels like while Teen Titans had writing that appealed to a large age range this show has quickly fallen victim to "children writing". By this I mean writing made by adults with the belief that children cannot understand slightly complex stories.
In the early 90's we saw cartoons stray away from this with shows like Spider-Man, X-Men and BTAS. Spider-Man and X-Men both used overarching storylines (personally I like Spider-Man better but I know that many do not agree) which would slowly come into place over a season. BTAS most definitely had the best writer staff of them all, excluding about three episodes the entire show contained beautifully crafted, mature (by which I mean mature intellectually) stories.
But alas it does seem that television has sudden gotten very fearful of producing more of that kind of material. What the future holds....who knows. But we will see.

Exactly my sentiments as well fellas. This show is reminding me of my opinions of The Batman. I still consider Titans to have been quite a better show that TB. Despite being intentionally "for younger kids", the professional execution was there to overcome that obstacle and make it appealing to everyone. The Batman IMO is only now in it's fourth season developing such episodes. LOSH is going down the same path (which is seemingly right where WB wants it). My philosophy is, it can be for kids, it can focus on action and style and avoid high concepts or intense themes... it can be all those things, but still better!

I suppose I should mention that it was rather neat to hear Brainiac 5 ask the computer to load file "TK421." A blatantly obvious Star Wars reference.
