I was more partial to the second wave w/ the GL and his squirting ring, Flash, Aquaman and that great Two Face with that oversized coin. Oh, how far Toy Biz has come.

Toy Biz really has come a long way, wasn't this one of their earliest lines?

Yeah.......I was 10 and the summer of 1989 was great....Probably my best ever as a kid.....Everything was BATMAN.......Everything.......from cereal to t-shirts to toys..... oh yes I wa 9 and as well as Batman being everywhere the new Flash series premiered the next year and I had my flash from this line to act out battles with too.as I said the Super Powers never came to Ireland(I dont think so anyway)so these guys and the bad guys from Robocop and the Ultra Police mixed it up often ;D I used to have the badguys from Robocop duke it out with Bats.....Even used the police as a Swat Team after Bats.....

I didn't realize Toy Biz made those figures, wow they're much older than I thought.

Since this is the era that im focusing on with my collection, i wanted to share my Toy Biz collection:
The empty spot with my figures is where the Robin figure goes. I just won him off ebay MOC.
I still need the Joker van and the Cave playset, but the playset isnt a priority. However, if anyone has a Joker van they want to part with, let me know.

Toy Biz only made 3 "Batman" figures. The others were a tie in series called DC Super Heroes. The made a lot of the more popular DC characters. All are based off of their 1980's incarnations.

I realized that I also used to have the little batmobile with the molded on Batman that you could wind back and let go. I never knew this was a toy by Toybiz. I always thought it was just some hotwheel type thing not associated with the action figures. I remember before i gave it away I had the ears on it either bent every which way or completely ripped off. Also makes me see how toycompanies have been making vehicles with the figures molded on since the 80's. I hate that. I hate how they cant make real vehicles anymore that you can take the figure in and out of. I used to have the batman motorcycle but got rid of it fast because i hated the figure being molded on. Glad I didnt realize this earlier or i would have been madder sooner. DrGreenEvil

Other than Two Face, the Toybiz line doesn't really appeal given the fact that they are the inferior copies of Super Powers, and they didn't even really duplicate the action mechanisms that made the Super Powers so appealing.
The prime example is the Toy Biz Luthor with "Why are you Punching Yourself" action.
Right now I am finding that it is a great time to be acquiring Super Powers figures. The market for the initial series of figures with all the icons like Batman, Flash, Wonder Woman, Superman etc seems to be pretty flat and I'm finding some incredible deals right now on mint loose figures.
I just got the Luthor and Brainiac in kenner baggies for ten bucks each!
