Hi Everyone, I received a package from LEGO today, my new Batman sets! I promptly opened them up and I've got pictures and reviews for YOU! 7779 Batman Dragster: Catwoman Pursuit Click Here For GalleryThis is the smallest Batman set, at $9.95. For such a small set, this offers quite a bit of playability. Batman's dragster has two missiles that you can "launch" by tapping the back end of the little axle pieces. The canopy is hinged, and the front wheel assembly swivels. The minigun on the front end also spins freely. The Bat-dragster can be pulled along by its front end and "steered" around things. That's pretty fun, but if you push it by its rear end, the swivel assembly flips around on you. Catwoman's motorcycle is pretty basic, but a fun little ride. This set doesn't include a weapons bag, so keep that in mind when you're shopping. You get a gray and black Batman in this set, as well as a very stylish Catwoman. Overall I think this is a nice little set for the price. Batman's dragster looks sleek and fast, and Catwoman's motorcycle looks good as well, even though it depends on a single large purple piece for its looks.

Nice review Admiral. I would like to see what Catwoman looks like with the face turned around to Selina's face with the mask on. Do you get what I mean? When I get this set I'll probably do that because I don't really like the way they did the goggles.

My wife picked this set up for me today. I wish they had instructions on how to turn the dragster into the vehicle on page 16 of the instructions book. PJ

I broke down and bought this set yesterday at Walmart. Pretty cute, and Lego certainly maintains their greatness in my eyes (man have they evolved a bit over thast 20yrs since I last actually handled any *new pieces lol). I dunno? though, like I said, theyre cute and all (the figs being my primary interest) and I have no objection to them or having them, but I'm honestly not motivated to purchase/collect the whole lot. I adore Legos themselves (the alltime greatest toy IMHO) but the Minimates are just more attreactive, fun, and "collectible" to me. If I were more inclined to actually handle or "play" with the blocks, or my son were old enough to enjoy them, it may be a dif story? I cant justify the expense for these to myself (which Ive always considered a tad too high?). The figs are cute and fun, but dont scream "must have them", and the sets themselves, while awesome, wont do much more than look cool while taking up space and collecting dust.
After handling this piece, my opinion is no dif than with most anything Batman... natuarally "I would rather have them than not". But unless I come accross a steal of a deal, I wont feel compelled to invest personally. I'm sticking with my original assumed plan wherein I will get the Ultimate Batmobile set and be content.

I can certainly understand where you're coming from Batlaw. Honestly, if the Dragster set was the only one that I'd gotten (and I hadn't seen them previously), I'd probably feel the same way.
It's a very good entry level set and it gets us a Catwoman figure (and motorcycle).
I was much more impressed as I built the larger sets - and progressively so with each set.
My favorite set, just barely, is the Two-Face/Batmobile set. I think that's because we're getting a different Batman, a TOTALLY cool Two-Face fig and two vehicles. If you can only buy ONE set, this is the set I would recommend.
A VERY close 2nd is the Batwing set. It's an extensive build - one that I'm glad I worked my way up to. If it would have been the first one I tried to tackle, seeing all those parts spread out in front of me, I would have been intimidated. It is certainly worth the $49.99.
Croc/Batboat is by no means a bad set - it's just not quite as cool as the other two sets. Again, worth the $19.99, but if you can spring for the extra $10.00, buy the Batmobile set.
(One of these days, I'll have a review of each set done. It's a matter of finding the time to get it completed like I want to get it done. It's a twist on the review that I haven't seen elsewhere and I think/hope people will enjoy it. If I could only figure out how to shoot a good photo.... ;D )

Yeah Reid, thats been my internal debate cause the Two-Face set is reeaally tempting... but I'm resisting and holding out for the Ultimate Batmobile set since I know THAT will be the set for me!
