I wrote Lego last week asking to see if we are able to get a sneak peek at the new Legos which will be released in the Fall and this is what they had to say. Dear Mr Fraga
Thank you for your email from 08/17/06 and for your interest in our LEGO® products.
We were excited to learn of your enthusiasm for LEGO® Batman (TM) products and other licensed items to be introduced. Product development and the production of our toys is a time consuming (and sometimes frantic!) venture. In order to provide and market quality products which meet LEGO standards, we sometimes need every minute up until their launch to complete this process. Thus, even though we appreciate your passion and anticipation, we are unable to provide "preview" information about upcoming products prior to their release. Besides...we look forward to surprising you! As always, stay tuned to www.LEGOshop.com for the latest information on exciting new releases!
Thank you again for contacting us. We wish your family many happy hours of creative building with LEGO brand toys in the years to come.So no I didnt get an answer but at least I tried!!! Does anyone have info?

Am I the only one who is getting frustrated that we haven't heard anything new from LEGO? Are they going to release anything new for the Xmas season? I think it would kind of drag the line if no new LEGO's came on.

Thats because after Arkham it might be the end to the batman lego sets due to low sales. So im told...

I hope not. The line seemed to have sold well but then there are only a handful of products and the Batcave and Arkham are expensive. I just hope they are still hoping to put out at least a few more products maybe cheaper to see how the line is really doing.
The real problem is that LEGO is very tight lipped about what is going on with them.

If Lego is true to form and based on many years of experience, we should start seeing reports of new sets in the coming months. Usually set numbers start showing up first, followed by some pics. Lego generally ships new product end of 4th -beginning of 1st quarter. In ecent years retailers have smartened up. Stores like TRU would mark Lego down by 25-50% right before X-Mas. New stock was put out as it arrived so I was able to get some sweet deals on brand new stock. Lately though they have kept the new stuff in back until just after X-Mas.

New 2007 set pics are now turning up on Brickshelf (among other sites). No Batman yet, but soon. In the mean time here's a LINK to some new stuff. Good year to be a Lego fan!

I'm not really sure that this is an official Batman set, but in the last Lego catalog the Brickmaster page shows that one of the upcoming surprise gift sets and calls it a "Batbot." It looks to be a little taller than the X-pod robots, and even though it's not exactly like the one from "The Batman" it would still be a cool thing to put in your Lego Batcave display. On Lego's official shop at home site, in the latest online catalog is a picture of this set. Here's a link: shop.lego.com/catalog/onlinecatalog.asp?c=20Go to pages "14-15" and look in the lower left corner of the Brickmaster add. If you look at the Batbot model in the catalog versus the zoomed in version (click the Brickmaster add to bring it up) the catalog one looks like it is the final product and the zoomed in version the preliminary one.

It took me a couple of looks to see what you mean't but I get it now. Even if it's not an official Batman set, it certainly could fit in nicely. Thanks for pointing it out.

I've been thinking of doing a batbot using the exoforce parts. There's something you guys might want to think about.

Using the ExoForce ( or even Bionicle ) parts would be very interesting. Here's my first bat bot attempt... www.mocpages.com/moc.php/22427I didn't have ExoForce parts, so I used the dragster and ice blade as donor vehicles, with just a few parts from the cave.

Thanks - glad to be here. Been enjoying the forum for awhile now. We still haven't found any pics or listings of the new sets but considering whats being posted on Brickset if they're coming out by January it shouldn't be long now. I still would love to see a $9.99 Whirly Bat.

That Bat bot looks good, it would certainly boost the popularity of Lego Batman as it could be a cheap set with a Bane Lego minifig. I personally think that is what the range lack at the minute, a few smaller and cheaper sets.

[glow=red,2,300]The hardest thing is trying to match detail and likeness with size,My Bat bot was in my opinion more like a giant Superman beating robot, lol, plus there arent alot of bricks that can make the exact shape, ;)But Im confident we will make a great Batbot.[/glow]

I like the idea of more smaller sets. Don't get me wrong, I'd also like to see a Wayne Manor and an Axis Chemical Plant. But the smaller sets would be a great way to introduce more equipment, like the bat bot, the bat cycle, glider, etc.
There is another thread here at LoG where someone posted a wish list of sets that had alot of good ideas.

Eventually I gave up on detail and just tried to stay close to the basic outer shape. If you have pics, post 'em. ( maybe we should do this in a separate thread as not to disrupt the 'New Legos' conversation )
