i love all these rumours and speculation. two-face to be alive and well in arkham, bats to clear his name by bringing down two-face,gotham loves him. chris nolan walks away knowing that he has done a brilliant job and every batfan on the planet is well satisfied. job done!!!!

I hate to say I told you so, but...
I'm just glad there is something official stated. The argument of whether he is or isn't dead was getting pretty boring and was way to open to conjecture.

[shadow=red,left,300]I am kind of disappointed that Two-Face's is officially dead. But I agree with Doomsday. He would have not fit in to the sequel.[/shadow]

the whole thing about him is his origin and his fall from high, so once he's flipped the coin a few times there's not much more to extract from his character, so i'm glad he's officially dead and won't appear in the next movie.

yeh plus it brings harveys speech "its better to die a hero than to live long enough to see yourself become the villain" to a conclusion and how he died before he truly became a villain.

well he did become a villain, it's just that Batman and Gordon are going to cover for him, so in the public's view, he is still a hero, but yes, his speech does apply to himself.

I think the end of TDK meant that Batman and lived long enough to see himelf become the villain, and they're gonna pretend that Dent died a hero.

if Harvey had died instead of Rachel, then he'd have died the hero, but he lived, became disfigured and then turned evil, so he lived long enough to see himself become the villain (but will still be seen as a hero because Batman and Gordon are going to cover up his murders).
the quote does apply to Batman now too, because he had been seen as the hero by the citizens of Gotham, but now the story will come out that it was him that killed those people that Dent actually killed, so he (Batman) has lived long enough to become the villain, even though he's not really the villain.

Yeah, i heard the bad news on the radio the other day: That Christopher Nolan has confirmed that Two-Face is DEAD and WILL NOT be revived! It's sad, I liked him in the movie and I wish we saw more of him!

^ But once again, he would be sorta hard to put in the sequel. I'm glad he's dead. They should have basically All new enemies now, it's also a perfect oppertunity for Riddler.

Well, I don't buy it. Nolan could simply be protecting a big plot surprise. Knowing full well people would be asking Ekhart so making sure he gave the "right" answer. Far as I am concerned. Dent is squirrled away in the Arkham basement.
Gothams darkest secret.
Besides Nolan's wife, the producer of TDK, said the ending was open. I would imagine the woman who sleeps with Nolan might have a little more insight.

HE WAS DEAD. In the screenplay (that you can download online) it says: "Two-face falls, breaks neck, dies"

Spock "died" too once. Came back. Fictional characters have a nasty habit of doing that.

Yeah I really don't think he died. He was a very hard kill in the comics and that would have been a lame death.
