i also think that with most of the mob guys being sent to prison (funny scene by the way) that gotham could now be open to a power struggle and with the third films supposed theme being duality having the Ventriloquist and Scarface could work really well, throw in a turf war with black mask and it might work (i don't know why but since playing Dark Tomorrow i think that partnership works well).

Even though the gameplay was terrible, the story was good.

What about Lex Luthor? A bit of an off the beaten path suggestion but you could have Bruce and Wayne Enterprises face a corporate threat. Lex's movement into Gotham could include and number of enforcer type charaters who realistically couldn't carry their own movie from Firefly to Bane....
Just a thought.

I've thought that Lex should be geared toward Batman in the comics or animated shows. The two do have similar industries, though they run them in different ways. When it comes to film, we have seen Luthor in far too many Superman movies. Give the character a break. I don't want to see him on film for quite a while. I like the multiple villains idea as long as they can stay away from Spiderman 3. Every villain can't have a story, but it should be hinted what happened. That was one of the many problems with the writing of Batman and Robin. I think Nolan can accomplish this because it is essentially what we got with Scarecrow in BB. I wonder if there will be a new mob boss in the next film. Falcone is insane and Maroni was killed. Thorne maybe? I would love to see Bullock and Montoya make into the sequel as well. Again, there is room.

The more I think on this, the more I'm drawn to scarface. Nolan would have to change the character some. Less mobster, more serial killer. It could never carry the whole film, but as a sub plot it would be great. I remember a film starring Anthony Hopkins called "Magic". The film dealt with split personality's. While the film wasn't that great, the doll was downright creepy. It would make for a very dark knight indeed.

I don't know about Scarface. He/ she/ it is a great villain, but I don't think film is the right medium. I think Scarface should stay in comics and animations, but the translation would he rather difficult and difficult to take seriously. There are too many better options that would be easier and work better.

If anything, it wouldnt be trying to control the city. Like someone else said, they would probably escelate it to a much more personal level with Batman. And I think organized crime is basically over. The coming of the Joker vanquished all of it. As he said, Gotham deserved a better class of criminal, and he gave it to them. UNLEASH THE FREAKS!
