A very reliable inside source has told me that I, Ralph, will be Batman. Don't tell nobody, OK? It's like a secret and stuff.

none of the above in the poll is my vote. Bruce Wayne will still be Batman and isnt changing. he might not be Batman for those 2 issues, but that's occured before (Knightfall, Prodigy). it's been said that it's Batman isnt changing in Detective Comics, so it's probaly just another bad arc from Morrison. also Bruce is going to be in the last issue of Final Crisis as Batman and R.I.P. takes place alittle before, sort of during Final Crisis. R.I.P. ends before Final Crisis too i believe, so it's just DC trying to boost slipping sales. I agree. especialy with the bad Morrison arc. He really can't pitch a good story anymore.

I have a new theory concerning Battle for the Cowl. So I was reading the R.I.P. hardcover and noticed that at the end of the actual storyline, Le Bossu said that Batman AND Robin are dead. This made me think that Tim may not survive the battle. And evidence does point to Damian being the new Robin as well. Think about it.

My theory is that the two wearing the dress suits instead of Bat-Suits will be Batman and Robin. Although I would be quite offended if they made Hush Batman. Is there any possibility that who we've been referring to as Hush could be Dick. And the Batman with the guns is the mystery Batman who Tim was trying to figure out who it was in #1.

Damian as Robin, yes. Hush as Batman. DC isn't that dumb. Besides, Morrison said with Batman and Robin, Robin would be more badass (like Damian) and Batman would be more lighthearted. That sounds like Dick to me. And the "Batpunisher" is most likely Jason.

Dick as Bats and Damian as Robin seem to be the "logical" choices especially w/ Frank Quitely's art showing up for "Batman & Robin". But it almost seems too obvious. I'm waiting for a twist...

I'm with you. Bruce IS Batman. But unfortunately, DC Comics may not agree with you for a little while. The stunt behind the "Knightfall" storyline back in the 90s was to allow a more violent ruthless man wear the cape & cowl and then see how the fans would respond. We responded as they hoped we would...we all hated "Az-Bats"...and Bruce came back and reclaimed his spot thereby proving that our comic book heroes didn't have to kill to be cool. Fast forward to today, Bruce is "gone" and the Battle for the Cowl has begun. And I believe the stunt this time around is to prove if Batman is purely a symbol that Gotham needs and virtually anyone can wear that mask so long as there is a bat-presence in the city. And then, in all likelihood, the new wearer (presumably Dick Grayson) will do well but ultimately there is only one man who can and should be Batman. That he's more than just a symbol...but the man behind the mask is what really strikes fear into the hearts of criminals.
Just my 2 cents...

Normally I'd say, "Ya flipped your lid!" But w/ Blight showing up in the "Man-Bat" one-shot....hmmmm....
Probably not. But fun to speculate nevertheless...

And while I'm looking at the cover for BftC #3 I gotta say...
Am I the only one that HATES the way Riddler's being drawn lately?? The hair poofing out from under the hat. Jim Lee kinda started that and I'm not a fan. And speaking of villains...not really digging Two-Face's red suit either. Maybe he's ditching the District Attorney / Super-Villain gig and trying to be a "Candy Striper".

Dr. Phosphorus was. they are 2 seperate and completely different characters. Blight has never appeared in a regular continuity comic and if he does appear it would only be on Earth-12. they also have different abilites as well, with Phosphorus being far more powerful. the character of Blight was loosely based off of Dr. Phosphorus, as he's one of Paul Dini's favorite characters and he didnt get a chance to use him in BTAS. but they are in no way related.

Hi guys
My name's Will and I'm new to the board. I'm a pretty big batman fan, but a much bigger Richard Grayson/Nightwing fan.
Manofbat, Battle for the cowl #1 was a good bit of set up. We saw Black Mask shake up the status quo of the crazies by busting them out of Arkham. We saw Gotham in ruins without Batman, and we saw Nightwing trying to keep order. However, someone in the shadows was killing bad guys so Tim put on the batsuit and went "hunting" after this new cape on the scene.

could the killing batman be joker? If you're referring to the Batman with guns, that's Jason Todd.

but im just saying, how he laughed, kills, when his mouth guard got knocked off, he kind of had a joker smile. i mean is it confirmed, that the gunned batman is jason todd? jason todd could be the black mask for all we know.

I don't think the miniseries resolved much. I don't think either of the other three-issue miniseries on the checklist resolved much either. And I don't see how the Battle for the Cowl one-shots tied into the bigger story.
