This has and probably always will be my favorite line of toys. There is something very nostalgic about it. For me, i think, it has to do with the packaging. I like how they used photo images of Keaton on them., plus with the darker color scheme on the packaging. It just has a very "89" feel to it. I have also noticed that alot of the pieces from this collection has been getting more and more bids on ebay. Even the most common of this line are getting higher prices. And the same goes for the Returns line as well. It seems as the Forever merchandise stays at the same price points, if not lower, and the B&R items get little or nothing. But the Dark Knight line gets better with age. The only thing i'm dreading is, since there are still afew pieces from the DK line i still need to get, that with the new movie coming out, it's going to drive the prices on these older pieces even higher.
what are your thoughts on this?

They are a very special line i agree. The packaging was great with Keaton's face on it and the dark colour did set a great mood. I hope they are fetching good prices because i'm about to sell some off on Ebay myself and would love to get decent prices,i need the money lol.

The Keaton Batman figures are probaby my least favorate Batman movie figures. I always felt they weren't proportioned correctly. They have large heads and torsos yet little arms & legs... I thought they kind of look like dwarfs. PJ

[shadow=red,left,300]This was a fantastic line. The card art was excellent what with a shot of Keaton's Batman front and center. Considering they could have simply had an artist draw a Batman, it was a nice touch. The vehicles in this line are what really win me over. The Batmobile, Batwing, and even the Batcopter (yeah, yeah, it was originally the Super Powers one.. ;D) are all top notch and still hold up well against what's being offered today.[/shadow]

The Dark Knight Collection rocks. Over the years the figures improved greatly but the vehicles are still OUTSTANDING. Mattel should take a GOOD look at them.
oh and just a fun fact: The last Batcycle without an attached figure that came out in 1999. (TNBA: Mission Masters Team Batcycle)

I'm a big fan of the Dark Knight Collection. It was interesting to see what Toy Biz and Kenner did with the lines for the Batman movie.

The packaging, the figures and the vehicles are all very similar.....

hmmm I don't see many similarities between the Dark Knight Collection begins - other that both lines lack women.
Design-wise Mattel's vehicles look great but it is unfortunate that the figures are attached to the vehicles and I presume that the Batcopter will be off-scale.

i agree with Matt on the DKC thing. the Dark Knight Collection had an atmosphere to it. it had it's own destictness. this is the same feeling i get from the BBegins line.

The '89 figs had that atmosphere to them. And what I love about the BBegins line is the feeling I had when I was a kid.
