Sinestro Corps War would have to be used for a third film, as i agree with batlaw in that it needs a whole film to showcase Sinestro's fall from grace. and they may not even want to go that route in the film. they may keep Sinestro as a GL and never have him turn bad, especially if the rumors about the comics post-Flashpoint become true. Blackest Night might not work, but Nekron as the villain definitely could. they could loosely adapt TotC or GL annual 7 for the sotry, or just come up with an original story using him. Nekron has only been in a handful of stories, so he's wide open enough that they have some leway with how to use him. i'm actually hoping we see Star Sapphire. you'd have to think Sinestro and Star Sapphire as villains for a sequel. but then again they may want another corps wide threat, and we'll see something like Ranx or something that the Controllers unleash. hopefully they do a sequel. I doubt he will stay a GL. BTW, was there a rumor that Sinestro would be back with the GL Corps after Flashpoint? I don't know if that'll happen though, because it seems the Green Lantern line may not be affected that much. Besides that, the Sinestro Corps will probably keep their leader for namesake unless they go with Yellow Lantern Corps. Okay, maybe not Blackest Night, but a Nekron story would be cool, especially for a Corps wide threat. Speaking of, how about the Manhunters or Krona?

yeah, the rumors are very strong that the new GL for sctor 2814 will be either Sinestro or Abin Sur. Flashpoint wont change much for GL, but GL Corps will have new outfits and a new mission and the solicits and hints have implied that Hal isnt the GL in the Green Lantern # 1. there's alot of speculation as he hasnt been mentioned once and the only hint of him post-Flashpoint is with JLA. the belief right now is that he'll be the GL for JLA and thats it. there's been alot of speculation as to Hal's role post-Flashpoint. alot of people feel he'll be a guardian, or the sole guardian. i'm thinking he'll get Krona's old job and be the keeper of the entities. we'll know alot more in July after WotGL ends. his solo book comes to an end next month and he's not even mentioned in anything that isnt Flashpoint until October, with JLA and we've only gotten that teaser image. he may not even be in that.
and then there's the DC Direct figure line. in GL wave 5 there is a Sinestro that hasnt been revealed yet. initially at ToyFair it was called GL Sinestro and that got removed with the quickness and now its just an unrevealed Sinestro fig. the wave comes out in December and its fueled the speculation that it'll be Sinestro in his new GL costume because he's the new GL for Earth. we just got an awesome classic GL Sinestro in the Rebirth box set, if it was a re-release of Sinestro Corps Sinestro from wave 3 it wouldnt be blacked out, we already got White Lantern Sinestro, so that wouldnt be blacked out, so its added alot to the rumors of Sinestro returning to the corps.
the Abin Sur stuff comes about because of how popular he is and his prominence in Flashpoint and how much Johns loves the character. i'm very curious to see how this all plays out and whats gonna happen.
and Manhunters could definitely work. thats the plot of the game that ties into the movie so i can see it happening. they kind of already used Krona in the first film, but maybe he'll return.

Manhunters could be made to work pretty well. Maybe they could be Sinestro's first "Corps".? A pre-lantern army of the Guardians long forgotten and abandoned uncovered and jump started by Sinestro. Perhaps as a distraction or to battle the whole GL Corps around space while he takes on Hal personally on Earth? I like it ;D

I do like your idea of having the Manhunters battling the Corps while Sinestro takes on Hal. By the end, the Manhunters are defeated and Sinestro realizes he needs real soldiers and not machines and then he creates his Corps for the third.

I think thats just WB showing support for their property in response to the film's performance. Although I would be thrilled for a sequel, I will still be shocked to see one.

I enjoyed this movie and really hope they do a sequel. But I do believe it is way too early to introduce other colored corps into the movies. Maybe if they do about a hundred movies, they could introduce said Corps about halfway through. The second movie should have Sinestro as the main villain. The third should have Sinestro gain control of the Manhunters. And just so Sinestro doesn't become too overused like Lex Luthor, the Joker, or Dr. Doom, add another classic Lantern baddie such as Sonar, Dr. Polaris, or Evil Star into the mix.
As for the new Green Lantern of Sector 2814 in the comics, you know who I want to see? That giant alien whale from 'Last Days of Animal Man.'

[shadow=red,left,1000]I am on the fence about this movie. On one hand I felt it was a decent movie, but on the other hand I felt the character really deserved better.
Seeing as how the movie has officially bombed in the box office, I highly doubt we will be seeing a sequel. To be honest, I don't want to see a sequel (DC should make a Wonder Woman movie instead) unless the plan to approve on a few aspects.[/shadow]

DC's been trying to do a Wonder Woman movie for years now, but nothing seems to get off the ground. Even the TV pilot didn't get picked up. Is it really that hard to adapt Wonder Woman in a live-action movie or series? Maybe the creators in the DC animation department should try to look into this.

I had a lot of fun watching GL and can't understand why so many fanboys nitpick. Here's hoping we get a sequel.

[shadow=red,left,1000]^...Becouse fanboys feel the character deserves better? The way I see it, there is a time and a place to criticize fanboys for nitpicking. This just isn't one of those times.[/shadow] DC's been trying to do a Wonder Woman movie for years now, but nothing seems to get off the ground. Even the TV pilot didn't get picked up.
