Because most of us started collecting Batman toys in our youth, can you recall the first Bat-toy that you ever saw in a store? I can't exactly remember which I had first, but it was either the Batman plastic figure with the parachute or the Ideal plastic 3 pack with Batman, Robin, and The Joker. That was waaaaay back in 1966, But I always get a kick out of those memories.

[shadow=red,left,300]My first memory would have to be seeing the Super Powers Batman on the pegs. I really wanted that figure (heck, I wanted them all!) but the Batman fig is the one I wanted the most. I pleaded with my mom to get it for me, but she refused. Later on, on my birthday, I was happy and surprised that I got one.[/shadow]

My strongest childhood Bat-Toy memories are the Corgis of which i had all and over the years quite a few. My first Bat-Toy though was either one of those wobbly Rubbery Batman figures in the flying position or a Plastic Batman that was Red and Black and you had a little Elastic band launcher to shoot him across the yard.I remember finally losing him down a drain,i was shattered.

I went to, like, K-mart or someplace on an ordinary errand with my mom when I was probably 3-4, and just happened to spot that gold Batman fig with the Bat-shaped glider thing with the suction cup on the bottom from the Kenner Batman Returns line(I can never remember the name of this fig). I was already into B:TAS, and had to have a Batman toy. I think this was, in addition to being my first Batman figure, my first encounter with action figures altogether. But that was just too cool, I played with him for the longest time afterword. Soon after, I got the Returns Batman fig that is silver with a sort of grid on his suit, and I had those two with me everywhere. In fact, in my mind, the two Batmen were best friends. ;D I later lost the gold Batman, got another, then found him again. Now I have two, and I'm not sure which is my first Batman. ;D Good times.....

My first childhood memory was my first day of kindergarten...After school my mom took me to Rockaway Sales in West Caldwell NJ and bought me the Mego Batman & Robin figures. We then went to Roy Rogers across the street where they gave me a plastic badge and a cardboard cowboy hat. ahh the good old days of course they (Rockaway Sales & RR) are both long gone now. PJ

Two items I can recall are: - A parachute Batman from 1966 - A inkpad / stamp set from Kellogg's Cereal that you had to send away for; I remember those 6 to 8 weeks as the longest wait of my life!

Yes, I had one of those stamp pads. I also remember sending away from a comic book ad and receiving a Batman photo outfit. The kit contained 6 negatives with different comoc book scenes, photographic paper, and a clear, plastic holder. You would wet the photo paper, put a negative over it, and place them in the holder. Then you would hold the plastic up to the sun, or any light source for a few minutes, and voila', you would have a pprinted picture. I've never seen one of these on Ebay. I would love to know how much they sell for now.

My first memory of a Bat toy was the Batman Skydiving Parachutist made in 1982. It was the first Bat item I bought.

First was some form of the Ideal molded figures, but my memory of that is very sketchy. What I really remember is Capt. Action with the Batman suit. He kicked GI Joe and Dr. Evil's asses so many times it's not funny. I eventually had to get a replacement Batsuit. Around the same time I got the Corgi 'mobile and Batboat set. Ahhh nostalgia!

RobN, that's a great memory. I went through several Mego Batman figs growing up, but to have had more than one Captain Action Batsuit is just too cool!

Like so many others here, Batman '89 started it all. The Batman figure from that line was the first one I remember having. I remember going to Toys R Us all the time looking for figures with my parents (this was before we had a wal mart or a target here in SJ). And now 16 years later, I'm still going to Toys R Us looking for Batman figures!!! ;D

I can remember having a Batman and Robin from the Comic Action Heroes line. (I think that was the name of the line. They were 3 3/4 inch scale and made by Mego) I also remember having the Corgi Batmobile and loosing the missiles. They are my two earliest memories of Batman toys.

After moving from England, to Virginia, and then to my grandmother's house in Michigan, I remember vividly the first bat-toy I ever received. It was a Penguin action figure from Batman: The Animated Series. I remember that toy in particular because after receiving it on my birthday, I was able to watch Batman on FOX during Prime-time... Sadly enough, I lost it some years ago in another move... ...But the memories of that toy alone is what really matters at the end of the day for me...

The first Bat toy I ever acquired was on a late Saturday morning in 1977. After watching the New Adventures of Batman on CBS that year, my mom and I went to a little dime store called Ganway Rally ( I was sad the day it went out of business) and I got the Duncan Batmobile. It had red seats inside. Batman was blue and Robin was yellow. But two of my all time fondest memories for me was either in 1977 or 1978. One was when my mom got me the Mego 8 in. Batman figure (my first one). The other time was at a Woolworth's store when she got me the AHI skydiving Batman parachute figure and it had blue trunks just like the cartoons on Saturday mornings. I always wondered why they never had a Robin parachute figure. Little known to me there was one and years later, I was fortunate enough to find a loose one on ebay that had no cape and no emblem. I bought it a friend of mine helped me customize the cape and emblem and gave the mask area a new repaint. Now I have both Batman and Robin parachutist figures. My holy grail. Cheers.

My first memory of a Batman toy was when i was 5. My Grandparents were watching me and my Uncle gave me the Batman and Robin Mego dolls. It was 1978. He also gave me an old issue of Batman he had.

Mine would have to be the Ideal plastic Batman figures, they came in a 3 pack. Batman , Robin, and Joker. Unpainted and the size of army men , but i loved playing with those guys. I remember getting my Dad to cut the bases off their feet. Then Capt. Action Batman and the Mego figures. It's funny even at 41 i still get excited when i get the new stuff, DCSH Azrael Rocks. The wife and kids just shake their heads and roll their eyes when i'm showing something new to them. It's good to think back on those days.

I was a huge fan of the ABC-TV series as an eight-year-old in 1966, so my first memory was of a Batman parachute toy that I probably threw up in the air about 2,000 times before I finally lost it in a big tree. I also remember waiting for what seemed like years to get a Batman ink and stamp set from Kellog's Cereal - I finally did get it and proceeded to drive my mom nuts with Batman ink images all over myself, the house and whatever was handy! ;D

I also remember getting the Mego Batman and Robin two or three times over because I tended to lose the accessories. In early 1979, my Dad brought home the Mego 8 in. Batman and Robin and I had them right with me when the now extremely cheesy and laughable Legends of the Super Heroes aired on NBC. I actually thought it was cool because I was such a little kid and I had the Megos in hand. Funny, how years later, when I finally see this special on rare video, and I recoil in horror at this abomination. Cheers.

I can remember being a very little boy and went with my grandmother to spend a few days with an aunt. I remember lying in my bed with the toybiz movie Batman that had the belt that could string out. I was like 4 or 5. I also remember that weekend because my aunt had the Batman/Scooby Doo teamup on video, watched that alot. But then at the same time I think I might even remember when I got that Batman figure, but im not sure about that. DrGreenEvil

My earliset memory is when I was very very little my grandmother gave me a Melmac Plastic Plate, Bowl, & Cup set with 1966 Batman & Robin graphics. It also came with a stainless steel fork & spoon with an embossed pic of Batman running. I got these like 40 yrs ago! It's sort of amazing but I still have the original plate but everything else is gone. As a collector though, I have found all the pieces except the spoon! THE SPOOOON WILLL BEEE MMMMINE! The plate, even though it's only worth about $15 to 20.00, is my MOST cherished piece in my collection... for sentimental reasons of course!
