With the holiday season in full gear it's nice to sit back and enjoy what you Do have rather than what you DONT. I did just that this morning before I started my full day which I knew would be hectic ( I took the day off to do some holiday shopping, always relaxing, ya know? lol ) This time of year money seems to get a little tight so instead of concentrating on toys that I desire I try to appreciate what I've already obtained. In other words, it's nice to stop to smell the roses every once in a while. With that said, what part of your toy collection brings you the most joy? For now it's my Mego and Mego-like Monsters pictured below. What are yours?

[shadow=red,left,300]I hear you loud and clear Robert. It's always difficult, especially this holiday season, what with all of the new waves of figures hitting store pegs. I find myself questioning whether or not I should pick these figures up or would the money be better spent on everyone else on my Christmas shopping list. Perhaps I need to "stop and smell the roses" as well.
With that said, I have to be honest, there isn't one particular portion of my collection that brings me more joy than the other. I enjoy it all. From the high end stuff, right down to something as simple as a Batman cereal box..I love it all. Just looking at my collection room makes me appreciate all of the hard work I've put into it over the last decade.[/shadow]

I don't really have much of a batcollection anymore since I liquidated mine this year. Of my son's stuff, I dig his TAS/TNBA collection.

i understand this all too well. i became very wrapped up in becoming the first guy to get the latest item and quickly lost focus on why i started collecting to begin with. collecting is an obsession, and if you dont watch, it can consume you, and change you. it did me. in a bad way. it became my number one priority over everything else, even my family. bad. very bad. it made me quite the arrogant a hole if you know what i mean. it took something very drastic to snap me back into reality and regain focus on my life and my hobby. now i have my priorities back and have rediscovered the joy of my Batman hobby. the items that bring a big smile to my face ( for deeper reasons than im willing to share right now) are the Forever toy items, along with the Legends of Batman line.

If I had to pick out the items in my collection that give me the greatest joy, it would have to be my silver age collection of Bat items, such as the colorforms set, Batman Drawing set, or the Milton Bradley and Ideal games. That time was the most fun!

One of my most prized figures and actually it was a xmas present was on year when I got a Super Powers Batmobile. I've been wanting one for a while back then. But was neat was that my parents put in Batman and Robin figures inside the box. Looking back, it was a just a nice thing that they did that little extra thing.
