[shadow=red,left,300]Smallville used to be one of my favorite shows! But it started to get repetitive and sometimes stupid after Season 5!
So I stopped watching.
Has it really gotten any better? If it really has, I might consider tunning in!
P.S: Has he gotten any closer to becoming the Man of Steel?[/shadow]

Did anyone watch the Season finale! Trust me, it was bad. Major disappointment!
This series just needs to end! The finale full of bad acting, dumb fight scenes and a really stupid twist!

Wow. That show is still on the air. I watched maybe a hadful of season 1 eps, and was sorely disappointed. Too many folk knew that Clark had superpowers, and he isn't wearing his trademark Clark Kent glasses. I guess comic fans should watch stuff like that. and jacktheskull, you listed two of my favorite shows! NCIS and House rock!

This show was like my favorite back in the day. I was feelin' the badness of it, but I didn't cave into truly acknowledging it til Season 7. I fell behind with this last season, so I didn't catch the finale. Even though I thought at times it seemed be getting kinda good again in Season 8, I still wanted it to be done & over. I don't mean canceled without a last episode though...I never want those. :/ Two more seasons though...no. x(

I really liked the eps focusing on the meteor infected, and they went away from that. I picked it up again right before the season 6 finale with Bizarro and I really enjoyed seasons 7+8, but I can't believe they'r going BACK to Zod! I was really hoping they would bring in Darkseid at some point. I guess now they'll have two more seasons to figure out how

I used to love Smallville, but I hated season six. It was just complete stupidity and I was rolling my eyes the entire time.
So I quit watching. I return to watching it again after I saw the previews for season 8. But the season finale was just plain awful , and if the writing doesn't improve, they should just axe it!

I just saw the trailer for season 9 today. I don't get why the black outfit. I guess it's less cheesy than red & blue, but he's been wearing red and blue as a hint for years! and he's the "red & blue blur" in Metropolis...not the black blur!! I just don't get why they decided to trash the red & blue all together, unless they're saving it for the series finale. As for the villains, I don't mind Metallo, but I would have much rather seen Darseid!! I was thinking about this today: I think Michael Dorn would make a really good Darseid! He has a history with the DCU(S:TAS and JL/JLU) I think his Kalibak voice (or maybe something a little deeper) would be perfect for Darseid! It would certainly sound a lot more menacing/alien than Michael Ironside did. I do think BAG as Metallo is interesting casting, though. If there were any other characters there that are supposed to be new, I didn't recognize them, aside from Zod, that is

First look at Hawkman, Doctor Fate, and Stargirl.
ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/11/27/smallville-doctor-fate-stargirl-hawkman/
Personally, I am not impressed. Hawkman and Doctor Fate look like cheap action figures. Stargirl doesn't look that bad, but they could have done better.
They would look ten times better if they get rid of Hawkman's brass chest plate, give Doctor Fate a more mystical looking costume and give Stargirl a less cheap looking costume.
What do you think, love them or hate them?

I agree with TL , something looks rushed, they could have done a better job. I've seen better at Comic Con. At least we're getting some DC characters on the TV.

[shadow=red,left,300]Wow, It looks like Tom Welling isn't just acting anymore he is also directing, producing and the new costume designer! Way to fly Tommy Boy!
No seriously, are the producers trying to imitate Rodger Corman?[/shadow]

I agree...Stargirl looks ridiculous. The mask needs to be much smaller.
I am into the new turn on Smallville over the past few seasons, and I'm getting caught up on season 9 right now. I can't believe they're introducing the Wonder Twins though....argh.

Frankly, I actually liked the Wonder Twins.
Heck, I liked the Smallville version of the Wonder Twins better then the Smallville versions of Doomsday, Zod, Aquaman and the Flash!

[shadow=red,left,300]The "Smallville Versions" of Doomsday ad Zod are pretty stupid, but I didn't think that the Flash was that bad. Although, I would have preferred if he was Barry Allen over Bart Allen.
But yeah the Wonder Twins are an improvement compared to the ones you mentioned.[/shadow]

I was looking at the future eps on my DirecTV guide, there is an episode coming up with Zatanna and someone that is supposed to be the Smallville version of a character called "Warrior Angel". Can someone give me more info on him?? I can't find ANYTHING! Not even Wikipedia has anything on him!! When I look on Wiki, all it does is redirect me to Smallville!!

OK, I just watched Smallville: Absolute Justice and here I outlined some of the things I liked and the things I disliked. Caution Contains spoilers!
+ Geoff Johns did an amazing job. I loved all the references and comic book shout outs that where in the episode and all the wonderful dialog that fits each character. + Pam Grier was awesome as Waller. I loved her on "The L Word" and it looks like I am going to love having her here to! +/- Michel Shanks did a decent job as Carter Hall/ Hawkman. But I couldn't stand his "Bale Voice" for Hawkman. It made his performance seem stilted and unoriginal. + Brent Strait did an amazing job as Doctor Fate! - Britt Irvin was terrible as Stargirl. +/- Icicle was decent but could have been done ten times better! - Tom Welling still can't act his way out of a paper bag. Seriously, I hear Fanboys all the time saying how he is the perfect Superman and how he should play Superman in a big screen movie! Give me a break! + The supporting cast however did a decent job. + We finally see a green Martin Manhunter! - The effects are really campy and fun, but still campy. - The costumes look beyond stupid! Even with a TV show budget they could have done ten times better! - Although I praised Geoff Johns before, I still think he can come up with a better story then this!
All in all, it was fun and exciting, but still very brainless. So that's my opinion, what points do you agree or disagree with?

I just watched it, too and I agree with most of what you said: - I'll be less generous about Michael Shanks. I thought he overacted badly(I do agree about the Bale voice, lousy). - I thought the acting in general was pretty lousy. Brett Irvin sucked as badly as her costume, and I thought Brent Strait's Dr Fate voice was on par with Shanks(was that even his voice? If not I take back what I said about him and apply it to the voice actor). - I loved the references to all the other characters. One thing I didn't get, Where did all the film footage come from? They just happened to have all this film reel of these people getting arrested? - I agree with you 100% about Welling's acting, and if he is ever cast as Superman in a movie, that franchise is doomed!! - as I mentioned earlier, I disagree that the supporting cast did a decent job, I thought the acting sucked all the way around(well, Icicle was decent) -That one shot of MM was beyond cheesy, IMO. The shape od the face was way too cartoonish looking, and the shade of green way too bright -The effects were good(I would say the acting was much campier than the effects. I especially liked the fight scene between Stargirl and Icicle -The only Costume I thought was decent was Hawkman's the others were as bad as they looked in the trailers and pics we saw Overall, I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. The references to Checkmate and the Suicide Squad were very well written. I disliked Pam Grier as Waller, though. (Why the hell didn't they cast CCH Pounder?? She did an amazing job on JLU!!)I wonder what Waller meant about the "apocalypse" that was coming. I'm still looking for/hoping for Darseid! I know Smallville will mess him up somehow but I wanna see a live action version of him so bad!!!
