Okay, I havent updated my pics in awhile and I just finished up redoing my basement display area, so I figured nows a good a time as any.
First off, let me give some background on me and my collection. I was introduced to Batman while growing up in the 70's. Watching reruns of the Adam West show and catching Superfriends every Saturday morning. My Uncle gave me my first Batman comic books along with my Mego Batman and Robin. (I still have them) I would run around with a towel pinned around my neck playing Batman and I used a clothesline as my batrope.lol When I was 13 I got my first job, a paper route, and started buying comics on a monthly basis and in 1989 is when I started "collecting" the toys and memorabilia. Gee, wonder what sparked that? My collection has gone thru afew changes in the recent years. Now, after clearing out many items, its back in a managable state with only those items that mean the most. I am very picky now as to what I add to my collection, I may "like" something, but that doesnt mean Ill add it.
Now, here is my displayed pieces. There are only 4 totes that are in "storage" so these pics represent 80% of my collection.

Your collection, even in its thinned-out state, is inspiring Shadowbat. I'd venture on saying, by the looks of things, that you've got me beat by about 25% or so. Thats just a guestimate, of course. I love seeing pics of your displays. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, man! So much stuff! I haven't even seen some of these before! It's wonderful that you have the place to display it. There will be no school for some time, so I hope I'll be able to get some stuff out of storage and take more pics of my collection.

80% of my collection is gone. A purging fire was necessary and it was very liberating. I regret none of it. There comes a time when a collector needs his/her out. I reached a point where I really had nowhere else to go. I pretty much amassed what it was I wanted and I wasnt really into the newer stuff that was coming out, not that there was alot anyway. I started not appreciating or enjoying the collection anymore. Thats when I knew it was time. Over the last 3 years I have sold to other collectors, toy dealers, and through ebay. I now have my collection where I want it and with what means the most to me. It also allowed me to get back to other things that I enjoyed. Not everything is displayed, but Imay try and get some pics up.
