More Merchandise:

Walked into work this morning and we had received 2 Reeses shippers. I took the one header and bought one each of the candies. We also received in the Golden Grahams with the disk launchers. I bought another box of Cheerios as well and got the Joker figurine.

Picked up an extra 6" MM Joker at Walmart in Miami -- I'd really like to trade for a 6" Unmasked Bats if anybody's got an extra!

My cousin lives in the US and she came for a visit in Bulgaria for a few months. I'll probably be seeing her this weekend! I hope she brought some TDK stuff!

A HORROR STORY BEFORE BEDTIME:
If you look back through this thread, I'm the schmuck who paid $105.00 for a Bruce to Batman 12" on ebay. Well, he arrived today, and while the shipping box was in fine shape, the figure's packaging was wrecked. Clearly a prime example of "bait and switch." After spending the entire day with back and forth emails (including sending photos,) the seller was still calling me a liar, but in diplomatic ways. Now I'm debating whether to contact PayPal to resolve this or just slam the clueless, obstinate wench with the most venomous feedback I can muster. Or maybe both. My wife and I are both collectors (Batman and Barbie,) and we've encountered a lot of flaky and shaky nonsense on ebay of late. Anybody else seen a similar shift?

C&P'ed from another LoG thread... Hot Toys are giving Takara a run for the money in the "Best-1/6-scale-movie-Batman" department. Batman in his Begins Suit (but all-new re-sculpt from the previous BB Hot Toys 1/6 scale Begins Batman WITH swappable Christian Bale likeness Bruce Wayne Head. -and- Amazingly detailed Heath Ledger Joker with movie accurate clothing patterns and designs, plus more accessories than you can shake a stick at. Both are up for pre-order from BBTS for $174.99 each (+shipping) www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/menu.aspx?menu=1569&company=148Several more (and higher quality images available from the Hot Toys website. Batman- www.hottoys.com.hk/product.php?cat=66&pid=369The Joker - www.hottoys.com.hk/product.php?cat=66&pid=370I wasn't really impressed with the Bale likeness in the photos, but then again, I wasn't impressed with the Mattel 6" (and 2-up) Movie Masters Unmasked Batman Bale likeness until I saw the figure in person. I hope I'll be pleasantly surprised with the likeness when this baby is released.

The mini Batman chop guy is goofy. Looks like it belongs in Japan. My opinion of course. Batprofessor........sorry to hear about your misfortune.

It only took 7 boxes of Cherrios to get all four figures. I guess my breakfast is taken care of for a couple of months! At least its better than my cereal experience of 1992. It took 13 boxes to get the 3 lenticular bookmarks for Batman Returns.

There has been a steady influx of the toys at both TRUs and WM for the last couple of weeks, but sadly no MM's. The grocery store I work at has been getting the cereal boxes in one by one along with the candy. I havent picked anything new up aside from the 12" MM's. Ive been working on something else thats been taking my money. Im sure over the next couple weeks we'll start seeing more and more merchandise pop up.

Damn! No TDK stuff around here yet! I was saving money for TDK merch, but for the last 2 weeks I spent more than 2 months' savings for Indiana Jones stuff...

Target FINALLY got around to putting DK product out, and they had some stuff I hadn't seen before. Picked up a Batmobile scaled for the 4" figs for $9.99. They apparently are going to be stocking 2-packs of Batman/Joker in the 4" size for $6.99, as well as some other 2-packs at $11.99. I'm guessing Bat/Joker 5" there too.
Does anybody know who will be carrying the Movie Masters 2-pack? Just saw one on ebay yesterday.

You mean the boxed 2 packs with TDK Bats/ Joker and Begins Bats/ Scarecrow? Those are TRUs exclusives and wont be available until July 7th.

Today I picked up the 4" basic black tumbler ($9.99) along with the X-Pandables Joker's Lair & Bat-Bunker playsets ($14.99 each)...From the box art it looks like the 4" Joker will be a scaled down 5" Joker. Both playsets come with the same Batman as the Bruce Wayne "Sports Coupe". Tumbler - With the 4" Bats inside - Bat-Bunker - Each of the 3 inner panels - W/ Tumbler - Joker's Lair - Each of the inner panels -

i saw a couple on sale at my local TRU a few weeks ago, went back the other day and they were sold, and there is not a single other TDK item on the shelves, we're very far behind you guys here in the UK.
i had to go to ebay and buy Movie Masters figures from the USA. i hope TDK items start appearing soon, there were many items for Begins sold here.

UK still hasn't got much TDK? And I wonder why we don't have them around here - our stores get them from the UK

I managed to scoop up a 12" Bruce as Batman last week at TRU, though the box was practically destroyed. I tried to get a discount at the counter, but they said since the figure wasn't damaged they couldn't discount it. Since I was buying it to take out and display it really didn't matter, though I still think that $30 price tag is a bit steep for the figure, especially considering it didn't come with a single accessory! Would it have killed them to throw in a batarang?
Also, while perusing Target (they've only just put out any TDK stuff!), I noticed three empty pegs with this description on the tag: '4" figure two-pack', or something to that effect. The only 4" figures I've seen are the Bats and Bruce that come with the Batmobiles. They must be putting out a 4" Joker to go with the Xpandables Joker play set, but has anyone seen more figures coming out in 4" scale? Is this maybe a segue into the Infinite Heroes line?

So far people have only been spotting the empty pegs with the 4" 2-Pack tags. (about a week now) but nobody has actually found a 2-Pack yet. As for the 12" TRU 2-Ups I'd rather spend the $30 on them than the $20 I spent on the 14" Action Cape Batman.

There might be a 4" Joker Goon too, as far as I can judge from the playsets.

what does "2-Ups" mean? i know what figures you are referring to, but is 2-Ups the name of the toy line, or the company that make them or something like that?
and you're lucky that the 12" figures are $30, for us they will no doubt be £30 (close to $60).
the basic 5" Begins figures were £7.99 (close to $14), but in the US they were a lot cheaper than that i think.
the Batmobile/Tumbler was the only TDK item i've seen so far, my local TRU has loads of Speed Racer and Indiana Jones items but no TDK things, since the Batmobile/Tumbler sold out.

"2-up" is short for "twice up," meaning something that is rendered by an artist that will ultimately be produced at 50% scale reduction. Sculptors regularly sculpt action figures at twice the produced size to maintain a high level of detail. The figures are then scanned, and the molds are made from these scan reductions. So these "2-up" figures are based on the actual sculpture (12" original for a 6" fig.) Back in the golden age of comics, artists also did their drawings at 200%, although original comic art is done at a smaller scale reduction now.

PUNCH PACKING THE JOKER
I stopped by my local Walmart (Greenville, SC) this morning while I was running errands. They had an endcap set with Dark Knight action figures - in blue Walmart shipper boxes, not on peg hooks. It looks like the second wave has arrived.
I bought Punch Packing Joker. He is in his purple suit with green vest just as God intended. This probably means that it will now be a whole lot easier to find Destrucro-Case - I think most people would prefer the purple suit now that they are given a choice.
The bad news is that they only had two Movie Masters Goons.
Oh, and the paint jobs on many of the Jokers was pretty bad. I went through eight Jokers before I found an okay box with a fairly okay paint application.
