Hey all.
Lets discuss some of the music we listen to here.
Personally, I've been listening to older stuff recently. Almost all that is new makes me sick, lol.
I listen to a lot of electronic and old horror punk. Samhain, the Misfits, The Cramps, Atari Teenage Riot..I also listen to Moby and the Deftones.
Recent music has been mostly crap. I was a huge Marilyn Manson fan back in like 1994-95, way before he became well-known..when the band was thrash punk. Once the Antichrist Superstar crap came out, I had already lost interest. I've still kept up and tried to like what he puts out, cause we hung out back in the day and he was a good guy...but his last album was just horrible. I was excited to hear the new songs, since Twiggy is back in the band...yeah I downloaded three of them...they're just ..so...boring. He's obviously long run out of things to say. Age and money will do that to you.
I do really dig the direction My Chemical Romance is taking, getting back to their punk/hardcore roots. The Bob Dylan cover they did for the Watchmen was great.
I'm going with my wife to see Maria Taylor, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult and NIN in the next month or two. Anyone else have good shows that they're going to see?

Ah, I forgot you were a fellow MCR fan Matt. They're awesome, and I loved their Desolation Row cover. Speaking of, in a couple weeks, they'll be releasing another live video. It's kind of a sequel to The Black Parade is Dead! because its there encore performance as My Chemical Romance after their final performance as the Black Parade. It'll be contained on a bullet-shaped USB. I'm also looking forward to Madina Lake and Green Day releasing new albums in May, "Attics to Eden" and "21st Century Breakdown" respectively. I also heard that Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance will also release new albums this year.

Linkin Park, Godsmack, Disturbed, Korn, Lordi, Gwar, Rob Zombie/White Zombie, Aerosmith, Van Halen ( I am one of the very few who like both Van Roth and Van Hagar), Otep, Evanescence, Metallica, Run DMC, 2Pac, Gheto Boys, N.W.A. (note that this is the older rap, I'm not too fond of the new stuff) and thanks to my 14 year old daughter, Britney Spears.

me i love a nice mix of old and new and varying genres. some of my favorites include Stevie Ray Vaughan, Allman Brothers (particularly Duane's solo stuff), Zeppelin, Stones, Eagles. i'm a huge Lacuna Coil fan, huge Three Days Grace fan, i love Alice In Chains (only with Staley singing, i saw them live after he died with a different singer and they werent the same). i also love Job For A Cowboy and Despised Icon. and i like Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Britney Spears. i like a bunch of one hit wonder songs as well. there are many bands i'm leaving off, but you guys get the drift. basically there are 2 bands i dont like at all, Beatles and Def Leopard. anything else i can basically tolerate to a degree.

Been submerging myself in the new Queensryche "American Soldier" since last week. As with each and every new realease I listen almost non stop. I think this is their best overall work since "Promised Land"... maybe even since "Empire". As with most all their albums it takes a few thorough spins to really appreciate. "A Dead Man's Words" is the most intense, adictive, and signature QR sounding track IMO. I HIGHLY recomend people take notice and give this album (and band) some due attention.
For V-day the wife bought us tickets for their concert the end of April. Cant wait!

I'd heard that as well..and that they're going more back to their hardcore roots, which I'm really into. I'll have to pick up that new live DVD. We saw them for the Black Parade tour..it was amazing. I've been listening to Nirvana a LOT again lately. They were such a great band. I kinda transitioned in and out of grunge and industrial as a kid..thats what I still gravitate towards. Grunge..industrial or electronica.

You never know, they may revisit that someday down the road, but It'd be awhile. Right now they're scaling back from the whole rock opera thing and getting back to their hardcore punk roots.

I'm more of a Rock and Heavy Metal person. I love listening to 80s stuff. I love most songs by AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Ron Wasserman... I also love orchestrations, especially ones from soundtracks. I've been listening to my Batman soundtracks the past few days.

My music is all over the place, though most likely the biggest percentage of the things I listen to are various types of rock. I have, of late, be listening to a ton of Oingo Boingo. It doesn't get any better than Danny Elfman. My two favourite artists are Creature Feature & Voltaire.

I absolutely love music, Metal and Rock being my two favorite genres. Doesn't really matter if it's modern or classic, I like lots of bands from both eras.
Oh boy, get ready for a loooong list.
- AC/DC - Alice in Chains - All That Remains - Alter Bridge - As I Lay Dying - Breaking Benjamin - Chevelle - Creed - Dead by Sunrise - Demon Hunter - Disturbed - DragonForce - Evanescence - Family Force 5 - Flyleaf - Killswitch Engage - Linkin Park - Metallica - The Offspring - Ozzy Osbourne - P.O.D. - Rage Against the Machine - Red - Rest Among Ruins - Saliva - Seasons After - Seether - The Smashing Pumpkins - Thousand Foot Krutch - Three Days Grace

I mostly like rock music, especially old hardcore punk like Negative Approach, Minor Threat, Jerry's Kids, Circle Jerks, Black Flag but I also like normal rock bands like KISS and AC/DC. I like a few folk artists like Mary Lou Lord, Peter Paul and Mary, and Bob Dylan. Hardcore punk was the first music I discovered on my own as a teenager and I still have a love for it, but I also like some other styles as well. Alot of my friends think they're cheesy, but I think Paramore is probably the best new group I've heard in several years.
