May 09 will be the 70th anniversary since the release of Detective comics #27. I would think 70 would be a milestone yet I here no plans from DC and/or Warner to celebrate it. Just like last year was Superman's 70th, no one is paying attention. I still remember when Batman turned 50 and there was so much attention. Of courese that was also the same year Burton released Batman on the big screen.
Anyways just wondered if anyone else noticed this lack of attention.

Well, gee, he is turming 70. Quite possibly the old goat just wants to enjoy his Metamucil shake while soaking his dentures and watch some Fox News Channel. Plus, old folk spook easy, and given his training, I'm sure that ol' Bruce could still hurt someone.

When asked about this in an interview, Dan Didio said that he doesn't like looking back on things and just wants to keep moving forward. That would explain why Superman had no special attention last year, and I completely forgot it was his anniversary last year. That's kinda crap though. I hope he doesn't pull this when Batman reaches issue 700 soon.
