Wasn't there talk when this line was first started that it was going to cover other WB comic movies after the Dark Knight figures were made. Like the other Batman movies and the Superman movies The question was presented many times since the Movie Masters line was revealed, but unfortunately all we ever got from Mattel was their age old answer of "its a possibility that we will look at in the future". I mean, give us something here, thats all Mattel ever says, in any of their Q&A's on any of the collector sites. They never give a definite answer of yes or no. They never tell us if we are going to get what we want. The other toy companies do give legit, straight answers to the collectors. Mattel gives b.s.
Considering we have some industry poeple that visit here on the site I hate saying this, but you all do need to hear this. Both collectors and kids will buy Batman toys, but you have to actually make them and distribute them! Its okay Eric, you need to be able to voice your opinion. You're a long-time collector and a trusted voice in the fan community. I think any of our industry friends will note that you're not bad-mouthing for no reason, you're constructively criticizing and hoping for change and reforms. I have experienced frustration with the Ask Matty feature, because unlike years past, we don't get straight answers on anything. It used to be that our friends at Mattel gave us scoops and dish on what was coming out..REAL news. remember those times? LOG had many a good bit of info. Now, its all very vague and it seems that any exclusive images that exist go to Toy Fair or AFI.

Now, its all very vague and it seems that any exclusive images that exist go to Toy Fair or AFI. I do remember those times and I often wonder whatever happened to that interaction. The fanbase is still there. The consumer base is still there. Its the company thats dropping the ball in this game.
Those of us who have been in this hobby for years remember how the Batman license dominated the toy aisles back in the 90's. Kenner/Hasbro provided us with not only movie based lines, but original and elseworlds lines along with store specific lines.i.e World of Batman and Spectrum of the Bat, not to mention the repainted Legends line from the WB stores plus the Hasbro Collectors Club exclusive figures and dolls. It has been said many a times in the past that the Star Wars license is a prime example of how a toy line offering al the characters in all their variations can be successful. Even the Transformers and GI Joe lines have strived, as have the Marvel lines, but the DC lines have struggled so much?
If I can offer one bit of warning to the Mattel staff, the ear fulls that you get from us fans will be nothing compared to what you will receive from the WWE collectors. Jakks Pacific has built a strong and loyal fanbase of both collectors and consumers over the past 10 years and I believe that they will be a tougher act to follow than Hasbro was with the Batman license. There is such potential with 2 major licenses that you do and will have, you really need to listen to the fans and retailers and step up to the plate.

so Movie Masters are being discontinued? man, that stinks. you'd think they'd know they have a good thing on their hands after the crazy demand for them last year and the praise the Movie Masters got. they were easily the best mass-produced Batman movie figures ever made (which isn't really saying much since Batman movie figures in the past have been serviceable at best, even in the Kenner days). it's still something to be said about the quality of the Movie Masters. but Mattel dropped the ball too often with this line, with the poor distribution, the confusing recall rumors, and dragging their butts to get new waves out which now won't see the light of day. and i was so looking forward to a Two-Face figure to add to my collection!

It is amazing what they are doing. I'm beginning to wonder if we will even see the rest of series 2 in the hot wheels that came out. I would love to have a Batwing and superfriends batmobile

I totally agree with you guys regarding mattel. I am so sick of seeing all their toy fair and con pics of all the wonderful upcoming bat toys and yet alot of times we will never see these figures in stores or we have to go crazy looking for them and sometimes resort to buying them on ebay. I too have been a longtime batman figure collector and i agrre with you shadowbat that the kenner/hasbro days were a hell of alot easier and funner. At least when you saw pics of upcoming figures you knew you would be able to find them in stores. Mattels distributing is terrible. Look how long us Canadians had to wait for the movie master figures, we didn't get them until like 5 months after you guys in the U.S did. Also Our walmarts here never till this day got movie masters only toysrus and zellers carry them here. I have had to get all my Brave and the Bold figures in the U.S becuase we still do not have them in our stores. Also I believe we here in Canada got a wave of 5 inch dark knight figures that you guys in the U.S have not got yet or I could be wrong. Its a wave that I got for X-mas which included 5 new batman variants in the new Dark knight packaging. Bottom line is whats going on? Mattel should be getting all there products to everyone and people will buy them. remember the whole the batman batbot figure none of us have seen? I really hope they clean up there act because as a longtime bat collector these are very frustrating times boys.

Hi - Mattel has just informed us that the remaining new figures in the Dark Knight Movie Masters line are going to be Mattycollector.com exclusives, and that they cannot fill our order. We are very sorry for the problem on this item. We will need to cancel all orders in our system and remove the item from our site. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Thanks www.bigbadtoystore.com"since the MOTU figures are $20 a figure; im just getting two-face to complete my TDK collection.

I don't care if they are a few dollars more, if I know I can get them without driving all over town...just like a dog jumping through hoops...but the dog usually gets a treat, right? Where's my treat?

We still need to wait for Mattel to announce just who is going to be released, the price, AND how many are going to be available. You know that the scalpers are going to be at their keyboards ready to buy a dozen at a time of these so that they can pop em up on ebay at double the price. IF Mattel does indeed making these site exclusive then they need to limit the quantity you can purchase, or else these are going to be like the MOTU figs that sell out within hours of being made available.

ugh i want 2 two faces (one loose one moc) 4 bank robbery jokers (3 loose for joker goons and 1 moc) and 1 of each of the rest of the figs i was potentiall interested in 2 jail cell jokers, 2 gordans (although this fig will probbly never be released now) and 2 pre batman bruce waynes
if they cost $15 or so which i'm sure they will and shipping on top of that ugh i'd be looking at $200 to get what i want.............sigh and if they sell them in sets (sets of 2, or 4) i'd be even more screwed and would never get my 3 loose bank robbery jokers without buying 4 sets
the sad thing is i'll probobly get 'em all anyway

We will need to wait and see what Mattel announces. I imagine we'll hear the big word at SDCC this summer.
We predicted this here on LOG and its definately something that can work well IF they do what they've done with the MOTUC line now, which is set-up a pre-order option, so that the fans don't get screwed out of their toys.
I hope that Mattel does this for us. We'll have to wait and see.
