the CGI was good in the last movie. if the live action is like the first movie then it will be fine. after that it got way too campy. and Peter Laird needs to be involved with the movie again. he was involved in the first movie and TMNT and both were good. as long as he's involved i have no problem with whatever direction they take with regards to how the movie is made.

^Wow. Still making TMNT? There's a franchise that's been milked to death. I liked the cartoon when I was a kid, and the first live action movie was ok, but they need to give it a rest. The plot was resolved years ago. Shredder died. Shredder came back.(There was even a female "Shredder" type) Lather, rinse, repeat. The original graphic novels were awesome.

[shadow=red,left,300]^ Are you for real man! How can you say that when they have made six Batman movies with number seven on the way! Trust me there are other franchises that are being milked to death more then TMNT! The way I see it if they can make TMNT better, why not? P.S: Sorry if this comment offends anyone![/shadow]

I just read about it on Peter Laird's blog! I can't wait! I loved the 2007 CGI movie, so I'm looking forward to this, but I don't think an origin movie is a good idea.

So unless this is another franchise reboot such as Star Trek, Friday the 13th or Halloween, I really don't see the need for a new Ninja Turtle movie or t.v. show. Again this is my opinion.

Ok, the 2007 TMNT CGI film was GREAT, but honestly, I loved the 1990 live-action movie. The sequels were lame, but that was part of the over-saturation. Since they're going to stick to the original comic source material, I think this will kick some major butt! I can't wait!!!!

Personally, Ive never been a big TMNT fan and am still amazed at their ongoing popularity. I saw first two movies in the theatre and liked the 1st one well enough at the time. Me and my son actually liked the latest CGI and wouldve been open to (and prefered) seeing more of that rather than a new live action restart. But I really dont care either way and have in fact actually decided to "boycot" TMNT stuff anyway. We own a used copy of the CGI dvd and thats the only TMNT merch we have.

Batlaw, have you ever read the original Eastmand and Laird comics from Mirage? If you havent I recommend them. They are nothing like the cartoons. Nothing. Thats what originally got me into Turtles, however I wouldnt let your son read them until he was older. They are graphic and violent. Real ninja stuff.

Im aware of and remember their origins. I remember when the original comics came out (wish I wouldve snagged up a few). They just never really appealed to me beyond the gimmick. They seemed part of that era of pure gratuitous "weirdness".

[shadow=red,left,300]^There supposed to be weird! Thats part of the point!
That's why people like them so much! They don't need to be realistic!
BTW: Don't bash TMNT without giving it a proper chance! You might like it! ;D [/shadow]

Also they now have a writer - John Fusco. Other than that, a DTV Animated Movie titled "Turtles Forever" is coming out this fall. It's going to be about the Turtles from the 2003 show going to an alternate dimension and joining forces with the 1987 Turtles to battle Krang, The Technodrome, Bebop, Rocksteady...Although the old characters' designs are the same as in the 80s, Tokka and Razhar got all new designs.
