Am the only one who doesn't like Christian Bale's raspy voice in the recent Batman movies? He didn't make Batman sound scary at all instead he made Batman sound like he has lung cancer. I always imagined the silver screen Batman sounding like the serial killer from Scream (1996)

It may have gone over the top in TDK, but overall, I didn't mind it that much.

Everytime I hear Batman speak in Begins and Dark Knight I can't help but think of how much better those lines would've sounded if they came out of Kevin Conroy's mouth. Maybe Batman Begins and The Dark Knight should've been animated films.

^I like Bale's Batman voice! Seriously, won't you try to disguise your voice?
But I don't get one thing. What is so good about Conroy? Don't get me wrong, I loved BTAS! I have watched each episode 100 times! But I still don't get it.
What is so good about Conroy that makes fanboys crazy?
P.s; Sorry to go off subject!

P.s; Sorry to go off subject! You can't tell how ridiculous Christian Bale (Batman) sounds whenever opens his mouth? You need to have your hearing checked then. Kevin Conroy's voice sounds intimadating but it's not all raspy like Bale's voice. It's hard to take Batman seriously when he sounds like he has throat cancer. I'm all for Batman changing his voice but does he have to use such a grating voice? When he says "YOU DON'T WANNA HURT THE BOY HARVEY!" he doesn't sound like he's talking his job seriously at all, his voice is just THAT irritating and THAT comical at the same time.

There is only one scene where I like Bales voice, and thats when he saves rachael when she gets off the train in Begins. It was very even and it didnt like he was starining. Thru the rest if Begins and in all of TDK, it was way over the top and too strained.

Worst Dr. Girlfriend impression ever. All kidding aside, Bale just didn't nail the Bat's voice as well as Keaton or Conroy(My opinion of course). Hopefully,Bale will throttle back in the next film.

Well, since the thread you provided a link for was last posted on in August of last year and has been pushed back to page 3, and we average approximately 50 threads per page, I think we can assume that maybe the OP missed the topic and allow this thread to exist.
However, we do try to keep topics to one thread, but there are only a couple of us who moderate the forum and we do have lives outside the internet. So if anyone does see something that needs attention, please feel free to pm one of the Sentries or Moderators.

by the end of the movie it was a little off-putting, but that was Bale's Batman. If he did it more like Conroy's voice, it would feel like lame imitation and not something unique to this version of the character

^I like Bale's Batman voice! Seriously, won't you try to disguise your voice? thats where Bale didnt do his research and i guess no one filled him in. the voice Batman uses as Bruce Wayne is disguised. as Batman he speaks normally, as he feels that he is Batman and Bruce Wayne is the mask and fake persona he puts on for info, show, intel, to throw people off, ect.

^This series has kind of went in a different direction than that. Normally, Batman is basically two people. Especially in Begins, it is somewhat established that in the movie series there are three persona's of him. There is the front for the public, the caped crusader, and then there is an actual Bruce Wayne there. The role of Batman hasn't consumed him, at least not yet. I think it will be interesting to see if that does happen.
