Boosted by the success of the movie franchise, "Batman" is back in the spotlight. This collection of rare memorabilia in our popular Vault format celebrates the best of the Caped Crusader. The latest of our "Museum-in-a-Book" titles, this volume focuses exclusively on the Dark Knight. From the history of the character, the many concurrent variations of his storyline, the development of all the ancillary products including the TV show, animated series, and two different movie verses, this book will include all the pull-out, hold-in-your-hand, how-cool elements of our previous interactive books, "The Marvel Vault" and "The DC Vault". On the big screen: "Batman: The Dark Knight" starring Christian Bale and Heath Ledger was one of the highest grossing films of 2008. Eternal character: Created in 1939 as a response to Superman, and based on the dark atmosphere of pulp novels and the mysterious vigilante of "The Shadow" radio stories. Familiar cast: Robin, Commissioner Gordon, The Joker, Harvey Dent, Cat woman, Riddler, The Penguin, and many more are all here! This title includes reproduced artifacts and removable memorabilia.
About the Author
Robert Greenberger was given his first comic, Superman, at age six and has been a passionate fan of the medium ever since. Robert has worked for both Marvel and DC, and is now a full-time freelance writer and editor. Matthew K. Manning can't remember a day when he wasn't writing and drawing comics. After attending New York's School of Visual Arts, Manning quickly dropped the notion of becoming a comic artist when he realized there was actual work involved. Instead, Matthew adopted the idea of simply writing comic books, and is still amazed that no one has caught wise to his crafty machinations. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife and ten thousand DC comic books.
