Yikes, I got the Wolverine toy for my six year old cousin's birthday! I wonder if I should tell my aunt to take it back?

Oh boo-hoo. We played with toys a heck of a lot more dangerous back in the day, and lived to tell the tale. People have way too much time on their hands. Now I'm going downstairs to lick all of the lead based paint off my vintage toys.
You know what's dangerous? Political correctness.

I hardly think that child safety watchdogs are anything to do with political correctness. Its a good thing to have out there, cause guess what, lead-based paint does harm some kids...maybe it didn't harm you, but not everyone that drives drunk gets in an accident..does that make it safe?

Matt, I respectfully disagree. There are federal laws that govern the manufacture of toys, that are exacting enough that for example, the Super Friends Hawkman never made it to mass retail. These "watchdog" groups are the same people who want to take away our choices when it comes to almost every aspect of our lives, including what foods we consume and beverages we drink. This is all in the name of "safety." I've given plenty of pointy-eared Bat-toys to the kids of friends and family, and all of them are still sporting a full dentition and set of eyes. This is absolutely all wrapped up in political correctness, the new fascism.
The lead comment was a joke. Satire is also a victim of the politically correct.

I can't take a website seriously that employs bad typography to this degree. toysafety.org/toy4.shtmlThat papryus-like typeface is way more dangerous to my eyes than the toy is.

Mainway Toys' BAG O' GLASS
Teaches kids about prisms! Back when SNL was funny.
