Ok, stupid question time: So everyone's playing nice after the whole Civil War deal? Last I read most wanted Tony Stark's head on a pike, since he was the driving force of regestration. Secret Invasion basically united everyone, heroes & villains included, against the Skrulls & then Norman Osborn used that event to gain a great position of power, but he snapped and the heroes have united against him and his army of villains in Siege, which deals with Osborn's Siege of Asgard and his fall from grace and will usher in The Heroic Age. but not everyone gets along. Daredevil & Cage are about to go to war with each other, Bishop is trying to kill Hope & everyone thats protecting her, Xavier is attempting to play nice with Cyclops but we'll see what happens there, & its assumed that Cap & Iron Man will become friends again during the Heroic Age, but i'm sure they'll be some kind of confrontation or talk during Siege or the first issue of Avengers. alot of things have changed as well due to Dark Reign, so we'll see what happens with all of that as well.

Cable & Deadpool # 25 preview: www.comicbookresources.com/?page=preview&id=4685man, Deadpool is literally everywhere. i looked a few backs and noticed that he was all but one comic released that week. he's a great character, but Marvel is going a bit overboard right now. i cant imagine what it's going to be like before the Deadpool movie comes out.

Deadpool is great, and he's definitely the funniest character in comics, but its insane how he is everywhere now. he's in more comics than Wolverine now. his actual titles are great though. i love Deadpool Team-Up. and Merc with a Mouth is just so out there it has to be read. i'm actually looking forward to Deadpool Corps next month too.

OMG Siege #3 spoilers! Meanwhile in Washington, the President is watching the invasion of Asgard with his security council and orders the Secretary of State to mobilize all available military forces to be dispatched to Broxton and to have Osborn and the Dark Avengers arrested for treason. He also says that they should all pray for a miracle, to which one of the counsel members remarks that he thinks they just got one because Captain America has just arrived and brought his friends with him. At the very same moment in Asgard, Osborn is struck down by Captain America's shield as he and his allies descend onto the battlefield. As the Avengers, Young Avengers and Secret Warriors come to the aid of the Asgardians, Balder notices their arrival and welcomes their help. At the same time Thor and Maria Hill are confronted by the Sentry. Thor unleashes a massive lightning blast against him, but it has little effect. As the Avengers advance through Asgard, they are met by the Hood, Madame Masque and all the members of his gang who attempt to bar their way. Elsewhere, Hill returns to Tony Stark's hiding place to move him to a safer location when Speed arrives with the briefcase Jarvis gave Captain America earlier. Hill orders Speed to surrender when Stark stops her and asks Speed to give him the case. Back in Washington, the President receives word that ground and air military units have arrived in Broxton and are awaiting his orders. The President decides to let Captain America and his allies deal with Osborn and his forces and to have the military units take down H.A.M.M.E.R. itself instead and they begin by opening fire on their Helicarrier, which sustains massive damage. Victoria Hand then gives the order for all hands to abandon ship. As Thor and the Sentry continue their battle, Captain American and Osborn face off against each other. As he strikes Ms. Marvel down with an energy blast, his Iron Patriot armor is completely shut down by the arrival of Stark, who is dressed in a variant of his MK III armor. Enraged, Osborn orders the Sentry to annihilate Asgard rather than allow the Avengers to have it, which the Sentry does, practically leveling the city before the horrified eyes of Thor. Captain America finds Osborn amid the wreckage, pulls him out and places him under arrest. Before anyone can react further, Osborn's armor literally explodes off his body, revealing his face, which is painted in the image of the Green Goblin. This is witnessed across the country on live television by the entire nation with the X-Men and the Fantastic Four among those watching. Osborn begins raving that the heroes don't know what they've done, only to be punched out by Spider-Man. Thor demands to know the whereabouts of Loki, but Osborn tells him none of that matters and that he was the only one who could save them from what is about to happen. Osborn points overhead and hovering above them all is the Sentry, now fully possessed by the Void.I love how Osborn got taken down, first by Cap and Iron Man, the ones he's been mocking as the Iron Patriot, then in Goblin make-up, Spidey finally getting his shot! So my favorite part of Siege! Damn you Marvel and your delays. Now we have to wait two months to see how it ends.

^ yeah the delays are bad. Avengers # 1 got pushed back too at least, so the end wont be ruined.
and to follow up on Hulked Out Heroes & World War Hulks, Fall of the Hulks Spoilers:
Fall of Hulks ended with the Astonishing X-Men members, Deadpool, Spidey, FF, and many other characters all becoming Hulks which was the Intelligencia's plan all along. but apparently Banner has been manipulating everyone since the first issue of Loeb's run and he's been working with Red Hulk (who we still dont know who it is, but Banner apparently knows) the whole time. She-Hulk's body was used to create Red She-Hulk, but She-Hulk is still missing and we still dont know who Red She-Hulk is (we do now know for sure that she isnt Domino or Elektra), but we know she's ridiculously powerful as she nearly killed Skaar very easily. also, Lyra has been in on the plan the whole time as well and has been working with Banner & Red Hulk. and Glenn Talbot may actually be Glenn Talbot and not an LMD, same with Betty (who now hates Banner too). so basically World War Hulks will be Banner finally becoming Hulk again and facing off against Hulk versions of almost every major character in the Marvel Universe. Loeb's writing has really gone downhill. i honestly dont think he even knows who Red Hulk is. its just a gigantic mess. i'll read it just to see how he manages to fix this and clear everything up.

Looks like the X-Men are going through a team shift post-Second Coming. Here's the first teaser: So Spidey's on two Avengers teams, and now the X-Men. Well I'm interested to see why he's there, considering he's not a mutant.

|
|
Post by jlavaia on Apr 11, 2010 11:00:47 GMT -5
^ sometimes X-Men have non-mutants. Cloak & Dagger arent mutants and they're on the X-Men. Ms. Marvel was on the team for awhile and she's not a mutant. the entire X-Club aside from Beast arent mutants. plus Spider-Man is a mutate, so he's similiar enough.

Another good choice and another questionable one: She-Hulk?
|
|
|
Post by jlavaia on Apr 13, 2010 9:41:29 GMT -5
^ thats Lyra, not She-Hulk. i know Lyra is the main character in She-Hulk right now, but she's never called that in the actual comics. and she's another mutate, but she was born that way. she's the daughter of the Bruce Banner of an alternate future.
from these 2 pics, its safe to assume that this will be the lineup for a mini-series or something dealing with the Heroic Age and not one of the core X-Men lineups. that or Magneto will be leading a team as the main X-Men arent around after Second Coming. maybe they are left in the Days of Future Past reality, maybe they jump into a different reality, the future, the past, etc. we'll see what happens.
they also could be rebooting X-Men Legacy, or thats where this team will be as the cover in the background is from the first issue of the series.

Elektra?! What is going on here?

|
Post by jlavaia on Apr 15, 2010 11:16:14 GMT -5
yeah, something isnt right with the teasers. first, Blade has both his hands. where's the gun hand? the other thing is the one X-Men character with one non-X-Men character in each pic. i think it has to do with the X-Men actually getting fully back into the Marvel Universe with the Heroic Age instead of in their own world. like what happens with the X-Men will be effecting the rest of the universe and not just the X-Verse. that, or this is part of a non-canon story thats up coming. i say that mainly based on Blade looking nothing like he did in Captain Britain & MI13.
it also could be a special team that just has some mutants on it. they really havent shown any X-Men characters that are core team members. Gambit & Psylocke are always coming and going from the team, Hope has never been on any X team and Magneto isnt really a part of any X team either as he was only staying on Utopia. so this could just be like X-Men Team-Up or something stupid like that. or they're rebooting Excalibur. 2 of the 6 characters shown in the pics are British and one is a Braddock. thats all that's needed to form Excalibur.
it could also be teasers for the return of Jean Grey storyline. when the most powerful being in reality returns to 616, its going to effect every character. this could be teasers for that.

Okay, this one makes a little sense. We got X-Man and Jubilee (even though she's a vampire and her powers are gone from M-Day).

|
|
Post by jlavaia on Apr 16, 2010 20:40:39 GMT -5
^ that and X-Man is dead and was fed to Dark Beast's machine that powers Michael Pointer. and if this really is a lineup for an actual in continuity team we can expect the death of Jubilee in the first issue, as Blade will kill her and then be told afterwards she's good, like what happened with Spitfire.

Well, this is it. Siege #4 spoilers!
As the Void continuously hammers the Avengers, Loki repents at what he has done and begs his father to return to him the Norn Stones so that he can empower the heroes and give them the strength to win the day. When Void realizes that the heroes had a power upgrade from Loki, he kills him directly in front of a shocked Thor. Thor goes on a rage from seeing his brother die and promises to avenge him for his help. He then hammers Void with massive thunderbolts. Iron Man tells Thor to drive the Void away from the ruins of Asgard, and then takes control of the exploding Helicarrier in the sky. He uses it as a bullet and blows the Void up. In the explosion, Osborn escapes Steve Rogers' custody, only to be stopped by Volstagg. After reverting briefly back to human form, Sentry begs the heroes to kill him, but Thor refuses, wanting him to pay for his crimes. When the Void returns, Thor is forced to slay him. At Stark Tower, the Sentry's base disappears. As Thor takes the Sentry's body to the sun, the New Avengers round up the Dark Avengers and place them under arrest. Steve Rogers returns with Osborn again and tells everyone that it's Osborn's turn to pay for his crimes and gives Bucky back the shield, telling him he's the Captain America of the modern age. Bucky then asks what Steve was going to do. Steve then takes Norman Osborn's place as the "top cop", disabling H.A.M.M.E.R. and repealing the Superhuman Registration Act. Sometime later, Steve Rogers is called to the White House and talks with the President. The President says that Osborn and his Avengers will be put on trial, H.A.M.M.E.R. will be shut down and peace accords have begun with the Asgardians, but he wants Steve to lead the way for the future. Steve tells him he will, but on his terms. With Steve in charge, the Superhuman Registration Act is thrown out, allowing heroes who ran away under its terms to step out in freedom again. At Stark Tower, a party is held by Tony Stark, who has regained his company and armory, with numerous heroes gathered to celebrate. As Tony gives a speech, the heroes are visited by Thor and a number of Asgardians. Thor thanks the heroes for their heroics and as a token of this, Thor erects one of the remaining towers from Asgard where the Sentry's base once stood. He declares that Earth and Asgard are now allies and that if the call is given out again, he'll gladly serve the Avengers. Steve tells him he's glad to hear that, because there was a lot of work to be done...
Well, now begins the Heroic Age. However, there's still more to be told. In the final issue of Dark Avengers, we get a look at Osborn in his cell, and apparently he got a glimpse of the future when he touched the Norn Stones. He was hoping to save the world but the heroes got in his way. Now he believes the following will happen: 1. Mutant will rise up and kill everyone. 2. Hulk will one day decide to kill everything 3. Punisher will kill the wrong person setting up a holocaust. 4. Doom will crush humanity under his foot 5. And heroes will dive head first into a situation, and cause it to be worse. Now the first four events seem to reference to four other known events happening: Second Coming, World War Hulks, Shadowland, and Doomwar. All these events, including Siege, must be leading into this fifth event. And though it may not have any merit, the 2099 future says that an "Age of Heroes" brought about a catastrophe.

and the Heroic Age X-Men mystery has finally been solved. those teasers were for the upcoming Curse of the Mutants storyline that will deal with vampires attacking and hunting mutants. which now makes sense why Jubilee is a vampire and why Blade is involved. Namor will apparently play a very large role in the story and we'll be seeing some Atlantean vampires as well. its apparently going to lead in to a new Namor series.

with Second Coming ending tomorrow, i have to say that i loved the entire crossover. it was very well done, nothing was rushed, and i'm excited to see what will happen next with Hope (who is one of the best characters ever created). the mystery of where she will end up and what she will do is a great end to the story. and the fact her power is basically the power of every mutant alive is also pretty sick. i hate when awesome characters (Cable) are killed off, but the deaths meant something in this story. its been awhile since 2 very well liked and well established characters are killed in the same story and it wasnt just to do it. Hope's interactons with Cyclops were great too. i cant see her listening to him or Emma at all. maybe she'll learn from Magneto, who has finally become ultra badass again since Necrosha. the whole thing with Hope using Phoenix like power was good too and should be a nice lead in to Return of Jean Grey. it looks like Hope got the connections that Rachel and Korvus lost. that was really the only thing missing from the story too. the Starjammers were on their way back to Earth during Realm of Kings, so how were they not there for Second Coming? i guess space travel for the Starjammers takes a whole lot longer than it does for every other cosmic character. you'd think they would have wanted Rachel around for the story, seeing as how she grew up facing Nimrods and all. i cant wait for their return though. Polaris and Korvus are way too awesome to be left in space and only sporatically used.
and then on a completely different note, Frankencastle is coming to end!!!!!!!!! finally!!!!! Shadowland has been great and its only going to get better. i cant wait for October, i'll get to read Punisher again. and speaking of Shadowland, who else cant wait for inevitable Coleen Wing vs. Misty Knight fight. and how about Daredevil killing Bullseye. that was just ridiculous.

Apparently there will be a new Daredevil after Shadowland: www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=27408Quesada showed a new "New Man Without Fear" teaser of Falcon which follows after Nova and Gambit teasers shown earlier in the weekend. The E-i-C said that after "Shadowland" a new Man Without Fear would be established from that group.I'll post the teaser when it hits the web.

i cant see Nova being Daredevil. that one's too funny. Al Kraven would be cool as Daredevil. i could see it happen. and the whole Kraven family is big right now after Grim Hunt. its a perfect time to capitalize. hopefully it doesnt last too long and Matt gets resurrected, escapes from jail, or does whatever he needs to do to get back to being DD after whatever it is that happens to him at the end of Shadowland.
