It's getting some good reviews from Newsarama:
I have to wait until next week to get it, but this sounds like a kick@$$ book.

In the coming months: Batman discovers the malevolent force behind the huge robot that's menacing Gotham City — and it pits Bruce Wayne head-to-head for the first time against the Metropolis mogul Lex Luthor. The Bat-Plane is launched as Lex Luthor steps up his bid to own Gotham City like he does Metropolis. Luckily, Batman is bringing his own technological wonders to the battle against LexCorp! Lex Luthor has supplied his prototype G.I. Robot to the military — and only Batman knows there's a viper in the Pentagon's nest. But Lex Luthor knows as well, and attacks Batman in the Batcave to prevent being exposed! It’s all-out war as Batman goes up against an army of Lex Luthor’s G.I. Robots! The final chapter of the inaugural arc pits the newly augmented Batman against Lex Luthor's burgeoning LexCorp in a battle drawing the boundary lines for Gotham City.

REVIEW:
The first issue to the soon to be cancelled Legends of the Dark Knight has been talked about for months and now is finally here. Batman Confidential has arrived. The start of it was really good and showed Batman's skills as a detective and how he's still learning. An interesting thing too, he actually stole Joe Chill's gun from an evidence room (I wonder if that'll be part of continuity now). This also seems to be a tie-in to Begins as we see a relationship between Bruce and Lucius as we do in Begins.
The writing was really good, but the art was really so-so. They gave Luthor panda eyes, let's just leave it at that.
This is a great start to a new title, and it is on my pull list now.
SCORE: 8/10

I agree. Both the art and story were inconsistant... hit and miss. More so the art, and the story became less original and is went on. A decent start that certainly has potential.

To keep up discussion for this title, I've come up with a little game. Think of a story you'd like to see done in Batman Confidential and pick the writer and artist to make that story alive. I'll come up with ideas later, but does anyone want to give it a try?

[glow=red,2,300] Looks good !I'll pick it up when its a trade But I dont know Wayne Industries making weapons, doesn't make sense, I mean I know they make prototype weapons which Bruce then uses, but the weapons in this book are like guns and things such as that. well see.[/glow]

This series has started off well and I look forward to Issue 3. Issue 2 was great with what was making the robot go bonkers.

So, I got issue #3 yesterday, read it this morning and realized on the front cover that it said 3 of 8. That seems to me that the title might be finished once issue #8 comes out. Does anyone know anything about this? Also, this issue really seemed to be more like the first one and just set up the fight that will happen next issue (#4)

And the titles ongoing. It's like LoTDK. EDIT: Okay, I kind of misunderstood. I hope they don't just make tihs a limited series. I like this title.

Yeah, I knew that this first story arc was 6 issues, but we I saw the out of 8, I thought they were just going to do a two part story than stop. But I'm with you, All Star Batman, I hope the title continues....

i asked about the "of 8" thing too. the book sells okay, so that's not an issue. the best guess my comic guy could think of is that the artist isn't very fast getting work done, which could be delaying production. i doubt that's the reason myself, as dc doesn't cancel other books with slow artists, so why would they start now? and rules of engagement is a six part story, so the of 8 business makes no sense. hopefully dc will make some sort of announcement soon.

If they cancelled books with slow artists, All Star Batman and Robin would've ended a LONG time ago. It's either a typo, now a miniseries, or Rules of Engagement is now 8 parts. Those are my theories.

I'll take those theories until we get something. I hope it is a misprint even though I wouldn't know where the of 8 came from.

I still look at "Killing Joke" as the true pseudo origin of the Joker and probably always will.

That's great to hear! I've read the Killing Joke and think it's one of the best stories for Joker ever, but what really made it great was towards the end when Joker says he doesn't even remember his origin but he hopes it was multiple choice. I like the idea of having many different origins for the guy or none at all because even he doesn't know. However, I'm sure this will have something to do in falling into a pit of some unknown liquid

Anyone checked out #4 yet? It wasn't too bad and I just feel sorry for Alfred, but he gets even Also, it stills "of 8" which still worries me a bit even though for upcoming issues on the DC site it doesn't say "of 8". I hope we hear something....

Still? Come on DC, two issues in a row? If you can keep Jim Lee on a monthly book where one issue comes out a year, surely you can fix a typo.

It sounds like Confidential is just going to replace Legend of the Dark Knights (or at least what I read somewhere that I can't remember, of course). We'll see if this is true or not when more issues are previewed in upcoming weeks. Next one should be out Wednesday (4/25)

Confidential has officially replaced Legends of the Dark Knight as Batman's "anthology" (is that the right word?) title.

Issue #5 spoilers
I wasn't all that happy with this issue since all that happened was Batman busting in a great way (and getting angry with his computer). The next one is the finale for the story arc and it should be great when Batman and Luthor come face to face.
Also, on a side note, the "of 8" is finally gone. Cursed thing gave me a scare.
