Hey i was trying to get movie ideas for a nightwing movie and here it is.
Dick lives in the lower class town of bludhaven and wants the city to be great like gotham so he goes to one of the richest men in gotham ( blackmask) and asks if he could re build Bludhaven but black mask declines him so there for nightwing is made. he first wants to get money to build bludhaven up so he makes i mask and spikes up his hair. he goes to blackmasks place when he is alone to get his money but he isnt trained so when he trys to get in he gets shot by black mask in the arm blackmask goes up to him and dosnt take his mask off but drops him off in the street. now thats all i got so far but yeah lol tell me if ya like it:P

I'm with Joe on this one. I applaud your creativity, but I hope that hollywood is learning that you don't have to modify the source material to make a great film. They meshed together already existing Batman elements for Batman Begins and Dark Knight. They made Sin City literlaly jump off of the page. The material is already there, they just need to steal it and make it. Its quite simple.

I am with the majority on this one. Nightwing has a great origin. Why mess with it?

[shadow=red,left,300]A Nightwing movie is a cool idea. (Even thought I would rather see a well written Nightwing tv-series instead.)
But please, Nightwing is an amazing character already, don't belittle him with such an asinine back story! Just keep him the way he is![/shadow]

I'm with everyone else. Just have some flashback origin scenes in the beginning then get to the main story.

I think they should stick with making Bataman Begins sequals for now.

^ I second that.
After reading Jack's post, I wounder. How would a Nightwing tv-series work? We all know Birds of Prey fell on its feathered butt. How could a Nightwing tv-series avoid Birds of Prey's mistakes? What other characters should they include? remember they can't include Batman due to copyrights. Who would they cast as Nightwing? Or would you rather see a different Batman character come get his or her own series?
Come on, let's take the opportunity to get a good, interesting and creative discussion going!

I had an idea for an hour long live action TV show that would cover the time that Jason Todd was Robin. Nightwing would be interspersed throughout the show, often having a separate unrelated story going on to break up things on Batman's side. The first season would see the rise of the Joker, ala the Killing Joke, and conclude with Jason's death. Season two would be all about the fallout from Batman losing Todd. For this season, Nightwing would be more involved in Gotham than he was previously. Let me know if you guys are interested in hearing more about this.

Sounds really cool! I know I said no Batman due to pesky copyright infragments, but this sounds beyond cool!
Tell us more!

Okay, here goes.
The traditional basic format of Batman is that a villain does something bad, Batman tries to stop him, Batman isn't able to stop him the first time, then Batman finds a way to stop him. End of the story.
This will be a closer look at the characters and who they are. A big part of the first season would be less about Batman and the villains and more about Batman wondering if he is doing the write thing by having Jason as Robin. Jason's role would be to contrast between who Bruce, and to a lesser extent Dick, are and what drives them.
This is Batman before he became so grim. Batman is for the first time optimistic because things are coming together. While he is cautious of this new feeling, it will be established through Alfred that there has been a change from before. For Bruce, he is trying to contain crime so that no one has to live through what he did. For Jason, it is more about punishing crime. At this point in his life, Batman is at the point where he knows that if he doesn't stop soon, he never will. So his motivation is to set things up so that the police will be able to handle Gotham. He is setting Jason up with the tools he needs so that he can continue on after he has stopped the fight.
Meanwhile Nightwing is operating out of Bludhaven, investigating the False Face Society. Barbara would be the main lover interest of him and would be Batgirl only occasionally.
The beginnings of the Joker would be established, probably a little bit each episode. The False Face Society would set him up as the Red Hood and his typical origin would play out.
At the beginning of the series, Gotham will start out as looking glamorous and will slowly fall into decay. Bludhaven will start from the bottom and become more glamorous.
Gotham will deal predominantly with gang warfare whereas Bludhaven will be with organized crime.
I still have a lot to figure out, but I think this is a good rough start.

[shadow=red,left,300]That would be awesome! Well done Dark Nightwing, just brilliant! I would watch a show like that in a heart beat.
I will post my idea once I get the story straight. But it would not be as good as yours.[/shadow]

In speaking of this, Dick became Batman near the same time a new Nightwing and Flamebird debuted, so I'm wondering if Bette Kane will change her name.
