i'm not a big fan of alternate world figs, so i wont be getting the Batman or Wonder Woman figs, but that Barry Allen looks amazing. that i might have to get when these come out.

to add to All-Star's post, i believe it all stems from Prof. Zoom. now i'm not 100%, but based on what's been occuring in Flash, he keeps going back in time to make changes and make his life better and Barry's worse and eventually triggers an event that was too big that he changes, the flashpoint, and that event is what triggers the serious changes to the present. Barry will be attempting to find the event in time that was significantly altered and fix it and all the while Zoom is still messing around with time.
not one of the mini series interest me at all and i'm sure we'll never see this world again so the 15 mini's are just pointless cash grabs. especially since they arent tied to the main story. the main series and the tie in issues of Flash is where the main story will take place and those seem like they'll be good. i've been looking forward to this event for awhile now.

Huh, funny how this has fallen under my radar. Cool Flash is getting his exposure but this doesnt sound like anything Ill lose sleep over missing.

Be sure to read the final issue of Time Masters: Vanishing Point. for those of you who dont want to be subjected to the horror that Vanishing Point is, here is the only page you need: and why dont we just make this the Flashpoint thread, since we're discussing the series more than the figs.

That's a good idea. Besides, we may be talking about figs again sometime; you just know they'll have a 2nd wave.
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this. The tie-in minis look interesting too but I'm not gonna buy them all; I think the main story will suffice. Plus, they keep saying the fallout will be huge.

Wow, this is my first finding out about this event. Hopefully it will be more like Blackest Night and less Amazons Attack.

Flashpoint begins tomorrow, but before it does, I'd like throw out a theory I have concerning the Flashpoint Batman. Recent interviews have said this Batman is older than the Batman we know, so what if (and this is a big what if), the Batman of this world is really Thomas Wayne, avenging his wife and son who were killed in a mugging? Could it happen? We might see tomorrow.

Good call on that one ! I actually was going to pass on this completely, but Picked up issue 1 I'm really liking the story grabbed 2 and the Batman tie in (of course ) **** Possible spoilers****** the little details on the Thomas Wayne Batman are great. things like the manor being in disrepair , where the funding is coming from. His barely contained Rage at the the loss of his family so much more brutal than Bruce but i understand it ! he's nowhere near as skilled a fighter but his strikes are what you'd expect from a DR he knows WHERE to hit and When he meets Barry just the perspective of the character ... that he'll give up everything if it means saving his child it just screams out of the panels ! now i have to buy all of them and Batman Knight of Vengeance maybe the figure too OK sorry for the rant

The tie-ins I've enjoyed the most so far are:
Emperor Aquaman Wonder Woman and the Furies Kid Flash Lost

What do you think about Martha Wayne being the Flashpoint U's version of the Joker?

Great twist and a nice new take on the Batman/Joker dynamic by making it husband vs. wife. Overall, I'd say while Knight of Vengeane is a big event tie-in and an "Elseworlds", it's an amazing Batman story on its own merit.

My overall opinion of Flashpoint:
They should have made it more issues like Blackest Night. It felt like they cut our most of the story to make room for what they were able to fit into these measly five issues.
